I lived in Sydney Road, Tilbury from 1968 until 1972. Yes, you certainly did not 'mess about with Tilburyites' as some people called them.

It was a good 'salt of the earth' place for a teenager to be brought up in. Calcutta Road (featured on here), Civic Square and Dock Road were the hubs of activity in those days.

Was bought up in tilb during the mod skins days and yeh no one fucked with tilbs did they . A great English place to live in them days full of characters, now look at it full of fucking Africans and immigrants . I feel sorry for the old skool tilbs living there now , it's a disgrace how it's been overun .

Well. The majority of residents are good folk.But, there are a few trouble makers from there that come over on the ferry to Gravesend.They are loud, foul mouthed and stand out like a sore thumb.We wish they would stay in Tilbury.

I lived in Tilbury from 1971 til 1982. I went to St Chads and Manorway schools. My dad was Born there. It was a right shit hole back then so gods knows what it's like now.

Saying that, I did grow up there and have fond memories playing around at the gravel pit at the top of Sandy lane, bunking the trian to Grays and spending every night in the Riverside youth club.

Not forgetting the mighty Angela Ripons bum! HAHA!

Ive lived in tilbury 2 years, on the surface its a friendly town, but try taking the kids to the park, or waiting till the idiots have finished bashing the machine at the station b4 you can get your ticket, perhaps the one pub would stay open after 8pm if it wasnt for drunken adults causing aggro, maybe the people in the high rise could refrain from screaming out "oi u f**k**g c**t, " in between their swig ofcheap white cider the dole pays for!!!!! the towns a shit hole

I have lived in Tilbury for 4 years and it is a nice place to live,people are friendly,it is 40 mins from london and for all of you writing your comments saying it is full of scum well i have yet to see them and after 4 years i would have managed to see it but then again maybe it is you that is the scum and if you have moved from Tilbury well good riddance and stay away with your low life negative attudite...
