How come minato is the forth hokage but isin't in the naruto series but the third one is? How come naruto is born before his dad was hokage? I'm so confused.

First Minato namikaze is naruto's father and also the fourth hokage.

Naruto was born when the nine-tailed fox attackted kohona.

The fourth hokage used a technique that requires one's life.

So basically the fourth hokage died sealing the nine-tailed fox in naruto.

And the third hokage remaind.

that's why you see in the series that the third hokage is a very old person.

I wish people would stop assuming that Naruto is going to be the 6th Hokage. I think it's certainly likely, and I hope he is, but he still has a long way to go before he can be the leader of an entire village. Naruto's ultimate goal is to become Hokage and we should be enjoying his journey rather than anticipating his success. In my mind, making him out as the 6th so soon is overly presumptuous. Anyways, that's just my opinion.

The first a second hokage founded the village and passed it on to the third(the old man who was hokage when naruto growning up) and passed it onto the 4th(naruto's father) who died sealing the 9 tailed fox inside naruto, so the 3rd hokage became the leader again because there was no one to replace the 4th but him.

Naruto is going to become the sixth hokage, and then he will have to fight out sasuke, and he will then turn sasuke back to a humble person, and Naruto will somehow end up dieing in defense of the village, and sasuke will assume the 7th hokage name. Because Kakashi is a Jounin who has more than 1000 jutsus and uses two kinds of chakras. Naruto is a Genin who has a few jutsus and only uses a type of chakra. Obviously Kakashi has more experience and would be a better hokage for Konoha.
