I think tanks viewable from all 4 sides will see an incline in popularity, as will manufacturing of tanks with 4 sides starphire glass. Right now 1 or 3 side starphire is the standard which is a down right shame.
Also Astrea snails do awesome work of eating diatoms.
i talked to some1 at the homedepot and they said that the wood would rot. did you use anything to prevent it from rotting or used a speacial type of wood. reply asap im building a stand and canopy for my tank i need to know.
what type of wood did you use. i talked to some1 at the home depot and they said due to the water the wood would rot. is there any way you could prevent this. plz reply asap. im build at stand and canopy for my tank.
Chaeto also needs MAJOR water movement. It's not going to grow or do well unless tumbling in your tank. Putting it in a media bag would drastically reduce water movement AND reduce the light it got. It'd be a poor idea, might survive, but it won't be too healthy or provide much filtration.
Looks pretty good! Cant wait for an update. Im doing a 40B build right now. Check my page for updates! QUESTION do you think I could get a regular media bag, and fill it with Chaeto and just put it in my sump?(lighted of course) thanks!
Your tank hood is superb. the hinges could have been replaced with magnetic hinges. anyway i think from diy point of view this is just great.

Might want to put a screen on that swinging door opposite of the fans.
