This was my first "favorite song." I remember listening to it on my little transistor radio in the backyard, while playing. Good memories of a time long past when times seemed simpler.
No, IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME, Brook Benton. In this time, they rave over Echoes, Karaoke. Fabian could sing with that. Don Rickle's day, you see right through it. BRENDA LEE, BOBBY VINTON, everybody in the day. Most would listen to them sing Acapella all day. You learn to be Deaf, & learn to be Dumb! Defending the indefensible! YAH CAN'T SING BOY. YAH JUST CAN"T SING! Frankie didn't object. He knew he was telling the truth.
My parents used to play music for me and my siblings when we were little. Most of them were from the 60s and 70s (1910 Fruitgum Co., The Archies, Brenda Lee, The Shangri-Las, The Ronettes, Sam Cooke, Ricky Nelson, etc.). This was among my all time favorites, and now that I'm older and my taste in music has expanded, I still classify this as one of my favorites.
Don Rickles told Frankie in the Beach movie! YA CAN'T SING "BOY". YA JUST CAN'T SING.
Use the Echo Chambers! He's no Sinatra. But he's better than Fabian. & COOKIE, COOKIE, LEND ME YOUR COMB, Ed Byrnes. Whom didn't even attempt to sing it!
@jor99912 Name a period in music when the artist(s) wan't real(Like the Monkees or Millie Vanillie) or something wasn't artificially added to enhance a song for market share. It wasn't a pretentious song and maybe the Echo Chamber added to the sense of longing. I'm just saying. This song reminds me of Johnny Angle. Okay for what is was with at no "B...tches" and " h s" being spouted out. And I agree with you, Sinatra he ain't.
Epocas de los 60 inolvidables!!!!! me trae recuerdos de mi primer amor, lleno de esas iluciones que no dejan de empaparte y sumirte en los momentos mas romanticos jamas vividos!!!!
This song is my second all time favorite....I just loved this song and it brings back so many memories of the Frankie and Annette movies too...I wish music could be this simple and wonderful again...I miss the 50s and 60s music...and Im sure that alot of people feel the same way...It was a wonderful time of youth and happiness and discovery back then...when I close my eyes listening to this song it puts me back there....I thank you for posting this great song......
Had the privilege to have Mr. Avalon aboard my limo a few years ago on a couple of occasions. He is as nice as his songs and a devoted friend to Miss Annette Funnicello. They don't make 'em like this any more - neither the singers nor the music.

I was just 14 in 1958 when I had the chance to see Frankie in person in New York. Great performer live even back then.
