I have been searching for this movie for a while. I remembered a little of the plot from when I was a kid in the 1960's But could never remember the Name. Today it was listed ain one of those top horror movies with a brief synopsis.TaDa. I love the Black and white format. Thank you NEWGUY90 This is great
I actually live in that small town where that infamous bridge scene was filmed. The City of Lecompton, Kansas billed them 12 dollars to repair that guard rail. The bridge no longer stands but its memory is a permanent fixture of my lil town
im doing some historcal resurch on the great saltair pavallion i really liked this movie and it has alot of lost shots of this building where can i get a good copy of this film does anyone know?
You can purchase the Criteria collection version at Amazon. However, if you don't mind quality very much, you can download it at the Internet Archive. There's a link in the info box to this video. Just click "More Info".
Thanks for posting the movie! I just finished reading a great new horror novel titled Harvest of Souls and it made me think of this movie in some odd fashion, maybe just the title, but cool anyhow!
She's probably around seventy years old now, if she's still alive. Imagine having a seventy year old woman on your face playing an organ. It would be like something out of one of those Hieronymus Bosch paintings of Hell.
Right. I appreciate it. Years ago, I was on the beach in Florida checking out this dynamite babe coming out of the ocean. Beautiful. When I got up close she was an old woman. Her name was Barbara. What a body. She told me she was 72 years old. Amazing. I haven't seen an old woman look that good ever since. Now let me get back to that grotesque image you provided me. Thanks.
You can keep up your body way late in life if you take very good care of it. But once you slack off, it's usually gone for good. I knew one 80 year old construction worker who was outpacing 30 year olds on his job. Didn't take a single vacation his entire life. Then one day his wife got deathly ill and he took off for a couple of months. When he returned, he found he couldn't keep up anymore. After a few months, when his strength didn't return, he gave up and retired.
I am familiar with this scenario. Also, in the past, I knew of several older fellows who completely renovated their homes, fixed everything beautifully, and as soon as it was completed, dropped dead. Their wives got to enjoy it.
That is impressive and a lesson to us all. I imagine your reaction was something like the scene in 'The Shining' where Jack goes to get it on with a hot young naked babe who then turns into a cackling hag.
Yes. I agree. When Jimmy Page was young he would try to pick up insane young girls at a mental institution outside London. He would say they were the only ones that shagged. What a guy! He's always had good taste. LOL.
can't wait when this baby arrives in the mail =) a stonecold classic ,saw a coffin joe movie just now ,for the first time ,i almost shat my pants ,jesus ..
It would be nice to dismiss this as the scariest movie made in Lawrence, Kansas and Salt Lake City -- but it is one of the creepiest if not scariest films I ever saw. Thanks for the notes.
No problemo. Glad to be of assistance. I should have typed "The Curse of THE Living Corpse", btw. :) I haven't seen this other movie yet. I just know of it via IMDb.
dawnoftheford, thank you so much for your insightful additions - I did not know that about the original title (Corridors of Evil). Carnival of Souls is one of my all-time favorite movies, I just love the surreal dream state this film invokes when you watch it. Absolute classic.
I have an old beta copy of this movie. The package says carnival of souls but in the opening credits it is called corridors of evil which was going to be its original name. Also the "ghoul" you see throughout the movie is played by Herk Harvey the director. Just some fun facts there for ya.
What I want to know is how does this inspire the making of CarnEvil?

She reminds me of Alice from "The Honeymooners". I love horror movies from 1960's such as this one. Too bad they don't make them like this today.

too much trivia notes...can't enjoy the flick
Asskicker32294 3 years ago
just turn off the "annotation box" then the trivia comments will go away. Far right bottom corner... click off and GONE.

I was going to try and enjoy this movie but all the little trivia tidbits are annoying the hell out of me, so I'll watch something else.
