I love the Jitte Kata. You dont see those kinds of weapons very much anymore. Does anyone know if Kuroda Tetsuzan Shihan teaches to westerners? Or is his dojo private?
Thanks for uploading this vid. Sensei Kuroda is just awesome, and I think it's actually really cool that he lets his student play the role of the tori rather than the uke. Shows a lot of humility on his part. Awesome.
Well, in Aikido, it depends on the Shihan: in Saito's kata's, uke always loses because he is the agressor. In Saotome's kata's, tori loses in the first and the last one of most of his series. It teaches a valuable lesson: you never know who comes out victoriuos... might as well be the agressor.
How is this school of martial arts called?

The jitte and jo techniques were very beatuiful.

In this video his students are playing the role of the uke all the time :D
You may don't know, but in Kenjutsu, not like in Aikido or Judo, the one who 'wins' is uke.
Best wishes!
