  • I love your playing, do you play with singer's and if so do you enjoy it ???

  • i cant imagine there are even that many professional solo pianists out there at this level of musicality. thanks for all of your uploads. they are an inspiration for us mortals.

  • @AntManIAm Thank you so much!

  • Nice. One of my favourite jazz title.

Do you have the piano score written down?

  • Bravo!

  • hehe nice monk lick at 2:30 was nice to hear it

  • This is my new favorite. Love the open spaces.

  • To tell you honestly, these are very valuable videos.. Each of them deserves 10 times more views. 5*

  • Thanks! Malvivente

  • very, very good!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Mr

I have send you a video from me. Can you have me your comment.

    Thx

    Dirk

  • i liked the way ur playing the harmony great version !! i would like to see it on midi :P to figure out what ur playing..

  • fadypiano, I'll put it on my (very long) list :-)

  • So wonderful you're making me cry....

  • Thx, choirboy.

  • now that I have watched this I am wondering ..how do you like the Roland RD 700sx?

  • What I love about your playing is that every single note sounds 100% intentional - like it just supposed to be that way! I have learned a lot from watching your vids and it has made me a better player. Keep them coming, please!

I would love to see your take one something like Blue Bossa or Canteloupe Island.

  • Thanks, vidverse.

  • My, my, my> This is, of course, self-evident; what a talent; what is not so self-evident about this interesting player is his hand size. I, having recently discovered his left hand pinky finger above the knucle is 3/16 longer. Most of us have been cheated. Thank you for sharing this.

  • Actually, my hands and fingers are pretty limber, so I can stretch the intervals. That's the only difference.

  • I don't dare to add my comment to all those "learned" ones (by pianists). Therefore only: I LOVE it. Wolf

  • Wonderful performance. Great light touch and dynamics contrast.

I hadn't ever heard a style like the one you play around 3:10. I'm looking forward to messing around with it tonight.

  • Excellent! I really love when you play the walking bass line; it's not very common for the pianists, but when I play alone, I do it all the time (if I'm not striding). That's more common in B3s organ trios (guitar, and drums, without bass).

    All the best,

    Lucas

  • Loved the block voicings you used as well reminded me of George Shearing' chords! Well done once again!

  • Great. You can play each style at highest level. I´m envious:-)

  • That's prowling, Tom! Can imagine Baryshnikov, porkpie hat in homage to Astaire, doing a stealthy

Gotham stroll - following your lead. Cheers,~Terry

  • No Words.....Thank You!

  • Another very different version from your last Tom. I really like the contrast between your very calm and measured LH chords/bass lines and the intensity of your right hand with those filled octave lines and wide dynamic range. That laid back rhythmic feel reminds me of Errol Garner.

  • Thanks Doug. Errol Garner had an incredible swing, and nobody did the 'fist full of chords' thing better than he did. He is the first person I ever heard that did that. I also relied on the Lennie Tristano version of this tune. As you know, he was a legend to other musicians, but never quite made it with the public. His version is brilliant. Thanks again

  • How is this posible? Two masterful versions of the same song flowing out of the same hands ! Tell us, what planet do you really come from?

  • haha! thanks bongcoo2.

  • It's magic.

  • You're back!

  • Beautiful blues interpretation, fantastic block chords and also very interesting the introduction, terrific harmonically dissonant.

  • Fantastic again! I don't suppose you could tell me what chords you're playing at 0:23 - 0:25, I love the sound of them and would love to build them myself!

  • From the bottom up:

    L hand: F G#

    R hand: B D E G

Come down chromatically and end on a Dbmajor7 chord.

    I hope that makes sense.

  • i am learning from you

  • how i like this intense sense of space and melodic breath!

also a very nice recording quality and a great sounding piano.

    first class jazz solo piano!

  • Thanks, Sam.

  • Terrific rendition of a great tune. The beginning is hypnotic and enticing, leading to the the rest of the performance which is captivating. I love your variance in dynamics and harmonic/melodic motifs. Yet another gem from you.

  • wow that was amazing

  • great rendition of a great tune

  • This is really amazing. :)

  • ..excellent..
