  • The could have easily continued recording hits like those scored by Earth, Wind, and Fire, Debarge, Shalamar, Jeffrey Osborne, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker...they had equal potential and talent to continue recording to the present day...this was the fault of the executives at their agency and recording labels. I think they should re-form and record Old School Soul and sell millions of singles...their fans are still living and missing their music.

  • This song is Classic...I had the biggest crush on Foster Sylvers..those dimples were just too cute

  • @warrenb330 Part 2) I will never forget that Christmas Eve because it was the first Christmas I had a chance to spend with the Sylvers family... they had just purchased a home in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles... they had just returned that evening from their first global tour. They were touring with Davy Jones of the Monkee's.

It was Christmas Eve proximately 10 p.m. when I arrived at their new home... and upon entrance to their home I noticed... luggage was piled-up a mile high

  • @warrenb330 Part 3) As they hadn't had a chance to unpack yet. They were all suffering from jet lag and we're very anxious to get prepared for Christmas which was just hours away... Their mother was sitting on the steps of the living room and had fallen asleep... that's when the older Sylvers decided to go into her purse and take out $5000 in cash. They got into their two station wagons one was the old family station wagon approximately a 1964. The other one was from their record company a...

  • @warren330 Part 5) That they could find open. They unloaded two station wagons full of toys... knickknacks... Candy... Christmas decorations... wrapping paper... clothing... and I'll never forget it was the year that they came out with those Chia Pets. that's right they even had a bunch of those... they have purchased $5000 worth of anything that was left in the thrifty drugstore smile. To put under the tree.

Now the most awesome moment I ever spent with the Sylvers.

    Olympia said to me...

  • @warren330 Part 6

"You must forgive us for the craziness this Christmas Eve. This will be our first Christmas where we are monetarily solid and can afford to have an actual real Christmas... we refuse to allow the young ones to wake-up and not experience their first really beautiful Christmas!"

"With gifts and everything that we never had growing-up!"

I will never forget that time... with the most incredible family. They used to roll their hair-up at night... and call themselves unicorns.

  • I don't care about popular opinion: the Sylvers could easily sing the Jacksons off the sidewalk and NOT break a sweat - (can Latoya sing???). I watched their episode on Unsung and cried like they were my own family. I have admired them since their debut on Pride records. I agree with all the other comments that this family was severely underpromoted by the record companies - why didn't Dick Griffey grab them off the market for SOLAR records?

  • Beautiful song and beautifully sung! Check out the clip of this song from from Unsung...amazing! RIP Edmund.

  • @dpage67 - I agree that the Sylvers were a very talented but underrated group, but the real people that did not give them a fair shake were the record companies, their executives and their management. The record companies/executives did not push their talents to the forefront like Motown did with J5. If the the heads of Capital, Casablanca or Solar had of done their jobs with precision , the Sylvers could/would have been just as big and successful as J5.

  • @Mspuddin67 Edmond had a good voice BUT Michael has a once in a lifetime voice. That not a fair comparison. They had different styles. Motown also had the best producers in the 60's and early 70's in the business.

  • What a BEAUTIFUL song!

  • My favorite part of the song is at the end when Edmund sings "I don't want nobody else, I just want you to myself." Wow, that sounds good to me.

  • How I miss the beautiful Sylvers' harmony

  • the Sylvers were a Great Family Group, But was Very Underrated, Because Of us The Fans, And Media, we Never Gave Them A Chance To Be The First Sylvers Group, We Were Always Trying To Make Them The Next Jackson 5. Shame On Us!!!!!!!!

  • @dpage67

Very True. The Sylvers are a great and talented family. I wish they could have done something like a family of soul tour together during their 70s heyday. I wish both I know both families respect each other very much because they are connected together forever. Edmund voiced Marlon in J5 cartoon and I believe Foster and/or Edmund produced some tracks for Janet on her earlier PRE-Control albums.

  • A GREAT BALLAD! PERFECT WEDDING SONG!!!

  • I just watched Unsung...this song is definitely becoming a part of my playlist!

  • a beautiful song. very romantic.
