4 of the greatest voices in country music, love them together and as solo artist, wish they were all still hear alive and well. I hope the survivors keep going for many more years.
WTF..... Just discovered this gem. Instantly added it to my favs Not gonna pretend that I didn`t know Kris But i always thought he was like a B-actor and singing -wise kind of Dolly`s side kick... But this song kicks ass.
I keep coming back to this video. Four Legends. Sell out venues alone. wasn t about the money, that s for sure. But respect and friendships. No Pyro, no strobe lights, no back up dancers, no back up vocals, just the four of them and the band. SELL OUT!!! Why? Pure talent, devotion and love for real music, each other and their fans. Never heard of either one spitting on someone that wanted an autograph. Two are gone, two remain. But all four remain respected and loved.
Just had a girl help me through the night, times are tough on the wallet for many of us, roommate is in a coma, this music makes me feel at ease. If only I had the coinage for a bottle of Whiskey
Well, I can´t complain since I have access to such beauty, but when I see the Justin Biebers of the world getting 500.000.000+ views (!) on a single video I start crying.
We have to keep their legacy alive! Or otherwise country music is about to die!
How can anyone dislike this? Where the hell can we find masters like those guys theese days? Kris, Willie, Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, George Jones, Tompall Glaser,Jerry Lee Lewis and a few others are still around, but for how long? When they are gone, it will be the end of the genuine outlaw era. Country of today is mostly a bunch of clowns in hats and boots, trying hard to copy the real deal like the masters I´ve named above....
Sang this (off key of course ) to my girl - when she stopped laughing we went to bed - she is now my wife. Oh you Highwaymen have a lot to answer for ! Fabulous rendition of Kristofferson's original
Sammi Smith , made this a hit way back when !!! Think , Kris might have wrote it ??? but Sammy made it a hit ... No matter , still a great one !!!! Wonderful to see the Boys playiing & singing it !!!! ~~ It doesn't get any better !!! Peace to all!!!
I thought this was a Willie Nelson song?? Have it on disc. Oh well, I so want this Highwaymen DVD, can't to seem to find it in the US. Thanks for the uploads..love them!
@girllovesmusic Whoa there - back off girlloves music- was just asking - how do I know where you live or your address concerns. Chill out and walk over Eastern Europe then for the hunt - I was only trying to help so back off.
just got goose bumps. Can't stop listening to this song. Maybe one of the best performances by these legends. No country singers today can come close to the talent to this type of performance.
go check out Jamey Johnson, hes the real deal! The has his 2nd album "That Lonsome Song" and hes has 2 new albums comming out in September 16th. He rerecorded 2 Waylon song on "That Lonesome Song". Hes the real deal. Real Country!
I have commented before. When you have 4 of the greastest talents that have ever lived on the same stage. Damn, you are blessed. Egos be damned. These men respected each other and the music. Not to mention the love factor. Kris wrote this song and Sammie Smith recorded it. Pushed her to the top. Wasn' t this version. That' s what is so great about a great song. It can be presented in many ways and remain the great song that was written.
