A Russian RPG-29 or even the chinese type 98 recoil-less rifle will either completely incapacitates the Abrams or flat out blow it to smithereens. Both of the warheads were designed to fly through ERA plates and still penetrate 800mm thick composite armor. Both of these were designed purely to take on the Abrams armor.

@ComradeMing The russian tanks in Iraq were incredibly stripped down versions of the Russian tanks (most didn't even have laser range finders) with inexperienced tank crews and poor shells. Whereas their adversaries were armed with GPS guided, gyroscope stabilized fully modernized well trained expiditionary marine force. The Leopard 2 A7 is better than Type 99A2. The Type 99 is only base on T-72. An also the Challenger 2, M1A2 SEP TUSK Abrams, Leclerc, Type 10, K1A2, K2 Black Panther, & Merkava IV can also defeat Type 99A2. Chinese tank aren't that good, strong, and powerful. They are mostly copycat of Soviet Junks.
Finally, I would like to say that this would never happen thanks to the events of August 6th and 9th, 1945. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were totally annihilated by the atomic bomb. Nuclear warfare would be the method of warfare conducted in this hypothetical conflict. Everyone would be vaporized or killed off by fallout and radiation. We should all recall that war in reality is a terrible thing. People think it's fun and games but once they see with their own eyes, they will realize...

No amount of forces could ever stage and maintain an invasion in Russia.

@Flyfishinj yup absolutely. But they are by no means invincible. A Russian RPG-29 or even the chinese type 98 recoil-less rifle will either completely incapacitates the Abrams or flat out blow it to smithereens. Both of the warheads were designed to fly through ERA plates and still penetrate 800mm thick composite armor. Both of these were designed purely to take on the Abrams armor.

@sectionzeropro there is a prototype of the type99 in the 70 ton range under the designation type99KM , armed with a 140mm gun which is believed to be in the works already, making it probably one of the most powerful tanks in development. That, and another chinese tank project the CSU152 which is armed with an even bigger 152mm anti tank gun. Both projects are probably either beind developed in secret or are on hold since there is no need for such powerful guns.

America builds the M1 Abrams, Russia develops the T-90, China builds this thing. America develops the F-22 Raptor, Russia and China naturally both have to try and compete and build the PAK FA, and J-20. In a few years down the line, they'll be competing with another new toy of ours. There'll never be a war, its more of "friendly" competition than anything else really.

The Leopard 2 A7 is better than Type 99A2. The Type 99 is only base on T-72. An also the Challenger 2, M1A2 SEP TUSK Abrams, Leclerc, Type 10, K1A2, K2 Black Panther, & Merkava IV can also defeat Type 99A2. Chinese tank aren't that good, strong, and powerful. The U.S. also has natural obstacles. It would be challenging to cross the Appalachians, Rockies, Great Lakes, and the Mississippi River. The Continental U.S. has not been invaded since 1814 I believe. We've also have not remembered that Russia and the U.S. are spread far apart. If the Russians were to invade, they would either have to cross Europe and the Atlantic to reach the East Coast or Cross the Pacific, or traverse Alaska and Canada.

I still wouldn't want that thing rolling towards me. besides, the T-99 was scraped they aren't making them really, the backbone will be the T90 all the way up to 2025. the Type 99 is current production and there's over 100 of the 98G/99 out in china. about 1500 type 96's too.
