Being a fellow Photo-Journalist for a couple local Newspapers I have to say that the Officer definitely overstepped his boundaries by detaining the news reporter and the camera man. I do hope that the officer in question gets some sort of disciplinary action filed against him for what he did. That kind of abuse of power can not go unpunished.
Who the hell employs foreigners as police officers? That uncontrallable "police officer" needs a psychoogical evaluation, or should I mention that the whole american police needs to be fired.

He does have a right to film, however, if he is asked to stay out of a certain area by a cop as he is investigating, for whatever reason, he has to comply. The reported has EVERY right to be there. His camera man is there, and the guys aren't breaking any Laws. The cop has violated every rule in the book except excessive violence. I've been involved in EMS for years and I was taken aback by the LEO'S attitude towards the reporter. I have seen some LEO's act like that on a power trip when trying to create scene safety. Fortunately, most do not act like that. Ironically, if the reporter acted like the cop, he would have been fired.
The reporter was on the opposite side of the roadway from an accident, causing more chances for an incident to become even worse due to people walking around blocking passing traffic on the still moving opposite lanes of the accident, so no wonder the policemen asked he leave, so ta da he left with the cops, what a dip shit reporter!!!! oh and those who think he was a bad cop, hes not, maybe if someone got mowed down by a car on the opposite side -theyed be yelling the cops didnt do their job
When a police officer gives you a command at the scene of an incident. You must listen!!!!! They are there to do their job! The reporter was causing more of a hazard to himself and other motorists by standing on the shoulder completing interviews. The reporter was there just for the 'moneyshot' any normal thinking person would move the interviews away from the scene to be safe. Clearly the reporter had an intent to stay and get the story, not to help and leave right away.

the cop can tell these guys were former skaters and that they needed to be shown who the boss was. more of the police state in action. the reporters were not an imbedded crew (cleared with the police), so they are the enemy of the state. the reporter whould have been killed if overseas, so he is lucky.

The reported has EVERY right to be there. His camera man is there, and the guys aren't breaking any Laws. The cop has violated every rule in the book except excessive violence. Took away the guys right to free speech, freedom of the press, and assaulted the reported when he grabbed his belt and pushed him against the truck. I've been involved in EMS for years and I was taken aback by the LEO'S attitude towards the reporter. I have seen some LEO's act like that on a power trip when trying to create scene safety. Fortunately, most do not act like that. Ironically, if the reporter acted like the cop, he would have been fired.

The reporter was on the opposite side of the roadway from an accident, causing more chances for an incident to become even worse due to people walking around blocking passing traffic on the still moving opposite lanes of the accident, so no wonder the policemen asked he leave, so ta da he left with the cops, what a dip shit reporter!!!! oh and those who think he was a bad cop, hes not, maybe if someone got mowed down by a car on the opposite side -theyed be yelling the cops didnt do their job

When a police officer gives you a command at the scene of an incident. You must listen!!!!! They are there to do their job! The reporter was causing more of a hazard to himself and other motorists by standing on the shoulder completing interviews. The reporter was there just for the 'moneyshot' any normal thinking person would move the interviews away from the scene to be safe. Clearly the reporter had an intent to stay and get the story, not to help and leave right away.
