@ROBOBECCA it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. royal icing can be used for piping as well, but with tthis cake, i needed the big web and i needed it to be pliable that's why i used the sugarveil hope this makes sense
Thank you so much for the sugar veil videos. I never understood how they worked until your video. Did you ever try the other homemade recipe? I love your videos, thanks for sharing everything you do!
Beautiful cake! I actually saw this same cake on the Food Network. I think the show is called "Amazing Wedding Cakes". Your cake puts that cake to shame though! Your skeleton face goes perfectly with the colors in your cake. When they had it on the show, the skeleton face was almost yellow and did not look good at all! Gorgeous, gorgeous! Job well done! Woo Hoo! :)
Turned out great! I actually watched the show where they made that same cake, yours turned out excellent!! I wonder if TammysCakes has seen this yet, I'm going to send her the link. She needs to do a spider web for an upcoming wedding...

Great cake. I think a spider or spiders would have been cool too. Wonder how it would look with black flowers instead of red.

**QUESTION: What is the difference between sugarveil n fondant??
ROBOBECCA 1 year ago
@ROBOBECCA fondant is a sugarpaste that is rolled out like a dough.
sugar veil is like royal icing..it is piped BUT does not harden like royal icing does.

@fairytalecakes ohh!! So which one is easier to work with? Or does it depend on the type of cake ur trying to accomplish?
