there is the dedicated practitoners' level strikers then there is professional level , then there is the elite strikers , then a few in a league of their own , and then you have matsui who i never seen any one kick like him .
to a beginner it doesnt look that special , also the video doesnt capture 10% of its magnitude , ive heard that from ppl who actually seen him in action .
From this video we can see that Master Matsui have perfected " jodan-mawashigeri ". He trained both legs to be extraordinarily flexible, forceful, speedy and accurate, so that the technic have become integral part of his reflex... it had become his instinct. Unquestionably an accomplished KARATE-KA, A GREAT MARTIAL ARTIST UNPARALLELED IN IT'S CLASS OR PROBABLY WITH OTHER SCHOOLS OF MARTIAL ART. My salute to this very gifted artist and the MASTER OF KARATE. Osu !!
From this historical archive, we are able to witness an ACCOMPLISHED MARTIAL ARTIST-Karate-ka. Matsui Shokei's kicking technic is masterful. Watch how he has achieved a fine balance in his body, the very smooth pivot, speed and accuracy. Master Matsui has demonstrated Karate in it's finest, his demonstration here serve as a supreme example for all those who are serious about learning martial art technic. His kicking is super. My most respect to Master Matsui.
at the bulgarian Kyokushin camp in 2010 . Kancho Shokei Matsui. told us that the normal peed to hit something with is between - 1000m.ps-2000m.ps. and when you hit some one in the body its normal blood to come out of his back ...think about dis !

thats really the thing about matsui he kicks with great efficiency even when he is at a fatigue level where it would be a struggle to deliver a gedan mawashi .

Fighting 100 ppl in kumite is quite a challange, so theres no need to waste energy making youre opponent open up his liver, plexus, or jaw for any type of punch. Better to kick full force when the time is right.
I almost think that being that good takes the thrill out of the fight... or maybe it just opened up a whole new world of fights, heh almost comic-bookish. Even though he is that good, do you think he might exceed Kensei? (By Kensei I mean Oyama (Kensei= godfist (a nickname he earned(for those who dont know))))
actually i think that no one who lived after sosai oyama has ever exceeded him.

this is a great video about shokei matsui...great fighter ever...good representation of kyoukushin karate...being a kohai, for me its very hard to beat him...great fighting skills...kyokushin forever...kyokushin for life...osu
Add KM, judo and escrima to that list (1dan in KM,1 kyu in shotokan and TKD, 3rd in judo) and you get my list of experience. And, ofc, i agree whole-heartedly with you. Great spirit, great min. Osu!
AT 2.09 the opponent fighted seriously n get him mad, so when he:s down still he gave him a powerfull punch.(( i was there))that" against kyokushin rules. personally opinion MIDORI has more liberal.
His sweeps are extremely effectively because he must have practiced them repeatedly over a long period of time.
He also has a very good understanding of timing and how to read his opponents' bodily postures and positions.
Only by a glance, he could tell when is the best timing to sweep. That's one reason why his sweeps appear to have never failed to topple down his opponents.
Also, when he sweeps, he commits himself into the techniques. Watch the torque and rotation of his hips. =)
He was the greatest karateka of Sosai's generation, I still idolize him even after what he did to the IKO. My sensei, ever risible and objective, calls me the "Mastui Lover" because I study his instructional videos and would throw predominantly jodan/ushiro mawashi hahah

Are boxers famous for breaking bones when punching without gloves? yes
Are Wrestlers known to have bad cardio/high fat %? yes
Are jiujitsu fighters known to have problems when facing more then one opponent? yes
Are kyokushin fighters known to have lost in K-1? no check my channel if you want any proove of that
Are you just another cliché internet troll? yes otherwise you wouldn't have entered the vis in the 1st place

I am not a Kyokushin guy, my experience goes to Shotokan karate (3rd Dan), kickboxing (trainner), taekwondo and muay thai.
Excuse me for being so ignorant in this subjet, but, even for me, it is quite obvious...this guy is a genious !!
Flawless technnique, impresive speed and unrivaled power.
I am truly overwhelmed. This is the real, pure Karate spirit....Osu !!! :D

Add KM, judo and escrima to that list (1dan in KM,1 kyu in shotokan and TKD, 3rd in judo) and you get my list of experience. And, ofc, i agree whole-heartedly with you. Great spirit, great min. Osu!

IKO 1 which is run and directed by Kancho Shokey Matsui... I´m quite sure you´ll get the pure spirit of the ''ultimate truth'' with them...

AT 2.09 the opponent fighted seriously n get him mad, so when he:s down still he gave him a powerfull punch.(( i was there))that" against kyokushin rules. personally opinion MIDORI has more liberal.

osu!
i think it was just because he was fighting 100 man in a row and he started the strike before the opponent went down .
i know u were there , i know you are one of them honbu first members , but i think matsui is kind to his opponents .
somewhere in that video he ko's one with a hiza geri and then helps him downd gently , i've been told that no one is as nice as midori though.

i still don't understand how he manages to sweep so easily... like if they were weighless or faking it...
amazing
thelva 2 years ago
LoL!
