  • Well done mate, love the video on Boo Diddly, I just have to watch some more of your videos, really well put together, looks easy but I know you have to really think that through. Hope I can pick up some tips for making cigar box guitars on your other videos. I'm a fan, brilliant.

  • Gus you are the daddy.

    Luv ya baby xxx

  • How deep is your box? i have a few that i'm planning to use, but they're only 2" deep...

  • @guitarguy098 The box in the video is about 1.5" deep

  • what a great idea using a piezo disc as a pickup. nice one. is there anything you can't do?? he he. :))

  • Hi Gus

    I only have one question.

How did you attached the Pizotransducer to the Korpus/ Cigarbox?

    Greetings from Germany. ^^

P.S. Your Videos are awesome!!! Keep on the good work ;)

  • This is the video that inspired me to build a cigar box ukulele. Now I'm hooked. These things are fun to build.

    Thanks,

  • what / how did you attach the transducer inside?

  • How much is one of those Uke- Diddley's ? $-) awsome video!

  • would you please give list of parts for your pickup... Love the page man!!! I use to play baritone sax in a Ska band... man do I miss it...

  • @lnbsax1

Buy a transducer (£1), a jack socket, a bit of wire and a volume potentiomenter from Maplin. (you might have to go to a guitar shop for the pot and the knob) look up the simplest wiring diagram from the internet - and bingo!

  • what is the value of the potentiometer that you used?

  • @itsoyable

    250K

  • Supper!

  • groovy !! amplified cigar box !!!

  • Love the sound!!!

  • Truly a master at work! Brilliant!

  • Will travel - to Scotland next week, but no live performances there then, eh?

  • you make it look too easy - both the construction and the playing.

  • You are too cool! Please, need a new GUGUG fix! Can't play my uke...hands shaking, body aching, DT's taking hold.

  • more cover videros. Please!!!

    Ukuleles

    Cigar Boxes

    Maraceas

and Bo Diddley on a Custom Cushman Road King Motor Scooter (For scooter nerds like me)

I am defintely going to make me a cigar box ukulele nightmare.

Thanks, see ye in Dublin next month.

  • Wow! For years I thought it was a Harley Davidson Topper, but I just looked up Custom Cushman Road King - and you're definitely spot-on!

  • Topper Harley!, hot shots part deux! very early costant variable drive, as used in modern twist n go scoots. I'm a vespa man myself, as can be seen from the split headset vnb still awaiting assembly in my kitchen.

The Scooter Ukulele revolution starts here...............

    Or perhaps over here ------>

  • ever tried building a pickup? easy stuff, lots of fun.

  • rare footage of secret gus-labs.

    cool.

  • I love that shaking the shaker was necessary in the making of this cigar uke!! Great fun vid man!

  • awesome

  • Fun. Informative.

Impressive production how the maracas and his strumming the final product at the end matched the music perfectly.

One of the BEST YouTube videos I've seen in a while.

Can you show us how to properly secure a neck to a cigar box or whatever body?

    Thanks for the show!

    Doug

  • Very cool!

Let me know about those necks!

  • cool!

  • A mad scientist in the rhythm lab cooking up the pickup. Nicely done.

  • that is a fantastic idea except that I think the plug in should be at the back or bottom of the body. The strumming hand is eventually going to rip it out don't you think?

  • Man...this is better than the best...right on brother :-)

  • Ha! Awesome!

  • Sweeeeet! Sounds great.
