@8375705 I agree. I think some of the casting directors for the bond films were a bit racist. For example in the novel Live and Let Die, the part of solitare is a black female, however in the film they were reluctant to have a black lady starring in the lead role so they gave it to Jane Seymour. They gave the part of the airhead bumbling cia agent to a black actress.

It really frustrates how all the lead actresses who starred as bond girls in this film were not asian. Bond is in india for crying out loud, the part of octopussy should have gone to an asian actress and all the other girls in this film.

@ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD but Octopussy is the daughter of a fromer Britsh military/secret service agent. Why would she be Indian? I agree that at least one of the bond girls should have been of Asian ethnicity though.

@thebryman They could have rewritten the story to make the character of Octopussy Indian. All the females in this film should be indian. You Only Live Twice had all mostly asian actresses because Connery was in Japan, and it makes obvious sense. One more thing you have to remember is that this film has nothing to do with the book Octopussy written by Ian Fleming. The only thing that is similar is the title.
