Parenting failure...a toddler is exceptionally vulberable to hearing loss. Taking a toddler to a thumping rock/pop concert where they are exposed to hyper-amplified "music" for hours on end is the height of idiocy.  Hearing loss is cumulative over one's lifespan...it will not be recognizable immediately. The ringing in your ears means you've lost ear hair follicles...of which there are a finite amount. Foam earlplugs would do little to protect a toddler from prolonged exposure.
