@kstar12441 I didn't use soap when bathing him, so he was NOT licking soap off of himself. The bath tub was also thoroughly rinsed prior to putting him in. He was a fatty but his diet consisted of a high protein low fat cat food mix. He was well looked after and had to be put down at the vet due to an enlarged heart. Your suggestion I didn't care for him properly is insulting. I did lots of research before buying him from a local breeder. Thanks.

@jillybean190 They are nocturnal and grumpy when woken up. They aren't good pets for kids because they aren't patient with rough handling. They have dietary requirements, and get overweight easily. They also have heat requirements and they're enclosures need to meet certain needs like air flow, and bedding. They are irritated, allergic and sensitive to a lot of things. I don't recommend buying one on a whim. But if you do your research and know the risks then a hedgehog can make an amazing pet.

@gotameanglare They sleep most of the time. Mine is an albino so shes all white and she still doesnt get too dirty. They aren't hard to take care of, but if u want a pet that plays all the time, hedgehogs arent like that. When I take Ruby out she just trys to burrow underneath me. lol :P
