  • Civilian guns are gay. So are Republicans.

  • 300 win mags r fuking fun

  • im only 13, and im deciding on getting a 30-06 or a .300 win mag, i hunt white tail but i havent had a deer get away and i plan to keep it that way, i really want a .300 but judging from its casing compared to the 30-06 i think reloading might be more expensive do to alot more powder, and reloading is a huge deal to me, but i just cant break the fact that the .300 has more "grain selection." I really want my first rifle to be something i like so please help me decide.

  • @aswomnessguy Really are both great rounds I have taken many deer with a 30-06 and I have taken many deer with a .300 win mag! Both have really great ballistics. A 30-06 has alot of stopping power and so does a .300 but a 30-06 has alot less recoil and have less expensive rounds. But a .300 has more range than a 30-06. In my opinion I would rather have a .300 because It will touch a deer out to 1000 yards and drop it right in its tracks! Hope I helped you any!

  • great shooting, sir have you tried 230gr bergers iam seeing on their page a bc of .743, also intresting numbers on 210gr at .636, i am currently trying to decide between 7mm and 300 win mag, ive shot both from friends but havent got the chance to shoot them at 1000, i am looking into competitions and dont want something reliable at those ranges that i can push further out on occassion. any recommendations would be appreciated.

  • @MrDaajman **want something reliable, mistake. cold bore is important to me since on occassion i might be on hunts so its something iam also considering with varying weather conditions, i want to collect valuable consistent data so i plan to reload, i want to get it right the first time.thanks

  • nice shooting man! father-est ive ever shot with my 300 win was 300 yards. 1000 damn man good god.

  • Great shooting mate, it would appear as if a weatherby would be the winner over the remington 700. At least a decant weatherby is affordable and it would appear to be accurate too.

  • wow... i sold my composite howa .300 win mag with the intention of getting a savage...after watching this video though...it seems like weatherby is the way to go. i dialed my rifle up to 600 yards with an accuracy grouping of about 3". a thousand yard shot with 180 grain bullet (even when i was using hornady's ammunition) ..is a very difficult shot, nice video thank you for sharing.

  • My dad has a Weatherby Vanguard GSX 300 Win mag with leupold 6.5 to 20 pwr scope. He got it sometime in the 1980s and its in pristine condition due to the fact the scope is way too much for around here so he uses his Remington 700 CDL 30-06 which has a leupold 3 to 9 pwr scope on it. His weatherby has a a more ornate design in the wood it has a yellow line that goes around the stock separating the dark stained wood in the front and a diamond on the bottom of the stock.

  • @TheGrimfantasy I believe its the deluxe verson looks like like the ones they still make.

  • Hey I'm considering purchasing a rifle quite similar to this. I'm new to guns, you don't have to be a dick. But I was just wondering how much something like this would run?

  • @Iknowaghost19 The one in the video uhmm maybe $500-700 with out the scope.

  • @7zobzombie $1,200-1,500 without scope

  • @zxsk8zx Uhmm nope... I paid $700 for my Weatherby Vanguard deluxe. The Mark v's are the ones that are $1000-2500. This is clearly a Vanguard in the video since its 300 win mag not Weatherby mag

  • @7zobzombie depends on dealer. their website says vanguard deluxe listed at $1,100 for rifel only. if you got a deluxe for $700 your dealer is bascialy handing them out, or you have the vanguard sporter which is $700 and looks exactly like the deluxe but with one grade down wood.

  • @zxsk8zx I got it in a trade its from 1977.

  • what is the scope on that gun?

  • According to ballistics charts, a 180 grain 300 win mag with a muzzle velocity of 3100 ft/sec has only about 800 ft lbs of energy at 1000 yards. A 190 grain at a slower velocity can't have almost twice that like the vid says. Check ur data.

  • @johnkshea3 The 180 grain you are using with your data is the Spire or Spitzer type projectile, while the 190s I’m using are the match grade hollow-point boat-tail. The ballistic coefficient of your projectiles is usually between .300-.400, while the 190 grain match is .575. With the 190 being heavier, and with its very high BC, it will maintain a much higher velocity at 1,000 yards than the 180. As a result, its kinetic energy is significantly more than the 180 at those distances.

  • @johnkshea3 yeh what ever! do you have elevation, bara, temp, ballistic co efficiency exc? do yourself a favor and limit your shooting to 50 yrds or less!

  • @johnkshea3 well 800ft lbs is a little bit more than a 10mm at the muzzle, that's pretty damn good.

  • Flinching is for kids...

  • @coltac or anyone who shoots high-power rifles. Don't get me wrong, through practice a flinch can be overcome, but most everybody will experience it.

  • whats the recoil like.

  • @MrSavage204 its not bad. but you know when you shoot it

  • @Ruger1000fps i shot mine yesterday and your right i knew when it went off. but its managable

  • Nice shooting blackbeard!

  • Bang... "Hit".... Clunk,

love it! I love how with long distance shooting you have time to let the round off, see the hit THEN hear the impact.

  • i watch your video's alot..and im guessing you reload by the look of your bullet box......i was wondering if you could give me some pointers on garand loads?..COL and bullet grain and bullet choice as well as powder, primers, and how much grains of powder..right now i'm loading IMR4895, with a 150gr sierra spitzer boat tail, winchester large rifle primers..have some feeding issues and i think it might be from my COL..also how do u like the vanguard rifle? looking to get a 308 for match shooting.

  • HAHA Whose holding the camera for the 1:54 sec. shot? :)))

  • Great shooting! I've Hit 3 out of 5 at 1000 yds , but I was high as a kite. Note to self .."do not drink and do drugs when trying to be top sniper"...lol

  • Hey, after watching several videos and reading about the Weatherby Vanguard, I decided I wanted to save up for one, but how much was this exact one you have in the video? Rifle by itself.

  • Very nice shooting man!

  • would a 26" barrell .300 mag be better than a 24" .30-06? thinking about starting long range shooting, say 1000 yards. are these cartridges really that different?

  • Nice Video. I was given a 300 weatherby mag and I was just wondering something. What's the rule of thumb on barrel changes? In other words, how many rounds can I put through it before the rifling wears out? And, does the extra power "mag" have a lot to do with it?

  • just bought one in .243 win. I can't wait to see what she'll do! One day I'll have one in .300winmag or 7mm mag.

  • How u get the target up there?lol

  • 300.000 rpm ?.....no way......

  • @Voidchaser Do the math, it is, this is one reasons many of these poorer-quality rounds with self-destruct in-flight.

  • @mag30th what brand of round were you using

  • @Voidchaser Actially it works out to 208,800 RPM, not 300,000.

  • @mag30th OK....THANKS ....whats the math? its one turn every.......feet? at what speed? help me here! :)

  • @Voidchaser N problem, alls good. When I first learned of it I thought the same as you did, 2,900 feet per second, and one revolution of the bullet every 10 inches of forward travel.

  • I believe you are referring to the comment by txstang84 when you say "300,000 rpm... no way..." But he is right. A 1:7 twist rate on a .223 remington at 2900 fps will do 298,000 rpm at the muzzle. According to most reloading manuals I have its easy to get a velocity of 3200 fps at which point the bullet will be doing 330,000 rpm. At those angular speeds a thin jacketed varmint bullet is going to suffer a catastrophic failure.

  • Interesting commentary-I've wondered a few times about the rotational speed-I recall seeing a statement in my Speer #13 reloading manual for .223 that if light bullets-55grn-are shot from a full length 1:7 barrel, bullets can actually separate in flight due to extreme rotational speed-300,000 rpm!

  • @txstang84 another problem can occur with over spinning bullets with the magnus effect basically the bullet wants to act like a top and stand up. in some extreme cases they actually do

  • Sweet vid! I got the .223 Vanguard and I love it.

  • Great shooting! I have been shooting my .340 Weatherby as far as 1200 yards with a couple of friends, and they have been shooting as far as 1600 yards. It is a gas! I need to order a 20 MOA tapered base for my scope so that I can shoot as far as my friends. My scope settings top out at about 1250 yards.

Great video! Thanks for posting it.

  • Great video, I'm looking into a Vanguard in .308, It is built off of the Howa 1500 action, but the barrel and stock and the trigger are all built to Weatherby specs

  • how do you not lose your sight picture down your scope when you shoot?

my dad has a 300. win mag abolt and i find it very difficult to keep my sight picture because of the recoil. any tips?

  • I'm jealous. Great set up!

  • awesome shooting. much respect

  • great video mag30th. great shooting also. I see one person didnt like the vid must have been a armchair expert, those guys are a crackup lol. A fellow y tuber asked what scope? I am kinda eager to know aswell.

  • what kind of scope are you using

  • what do you think is better the 7mm or the 300 mag?

  • @7xrepiv i guess ill try to help here ill assume your asking the most popular magnums. 7mm Rem. mag is a barrel burner, short barrel life. The larger bore 30 cal magnums have a longer barrel life. Not meaning its a bad cartridge. Difference of the two: 7mm Rem mag is a shortened 300 Win mag case necked down, 7mm rem mag holds less powder so the 300 Win mag is more powerful than the 7mm giving more range energy to take all north american big game. 7mm mag is a great medium game long range hunter

  • @FloridaSnookHunter i read somewhere on google that the 300 mag has a worse barrel life than the 7mm.

  • @7xrepiv the 7mm rem mag gets 750 rnds before the throat is burned up. The 300 win mag twice that this info is obtianed from a forum im on with alot of experts th

at ive asked. it varies from barrel to barrel if one of the two has a better made barrel it will get better life. also depends on how you shoot if you do repeated string of firing withouth lettig the barrel cool that will burn a barrel up fast. with hot magnums in hunting-sporter rifles chambered with cartidges with overbore

  • @7xrepiv me personally I like the 7mm mag better, less recoil, more practical for the game i hunt despite the shitty barrel life. I have been trying to make a decition for a hunting rifle for my needs for a year now and I still cant make up my mind on 300 winmag or the 7mm remmag. the more you know about the two and what your going to be using it for the better off you would be when choosing which one suits your needs better. dont make a snap decition a good rifle will give many years of use.

  • nice work , do you find the molly coated bullets actually make much difference ?

  • Nothing like seeing lead splash around the target and hearing the delayed strike! Amazing vid!

  • I like all the extra facts you put in this video. I loaded 180gr. Nosler Partition bullets with 73 grains of RL-22 for elk and at the range yesterday put 3 shots inside a 1 inch square at 200 yards. Can't wait to step it out to 300, then 400. I love the 300 Win. Mag. and this video was awesome.

But with 32 degrees of incline doesn't that make the actual straight line distance only 848 yards? I'm only screwing with ya, 1000 yards is a 1000 yards and that was an awesome shot.

  • ★★★★★ツ

  • gah!

and i went off and sold my 300 weatherby...

then i got a nice rem. 700 in 308 with a heavy match grade barrel.. it was a good puchace.. still miss my weatherby.... =/

  • Another winner... thanks!

  • That was extremely impressive, man. Your marksmanship is top notch. Did you just teach yourself over the years? I'm on the long road of becoming a long range shooter and I love watching your videos. Keep the excellent work coming!

  • mag compared to a 30.06 is the weatherby magnum more, less or the same recoil?

  • @crackawise This gun (300Win Mag) creates 32 Ft pounds of felt recoil, when a 1903 Springfield puts out about 18.

  • @mag30th thts is a lie a .300 win mag only generates 23-26 lbs of felt recoil............and theres no such thing as a weatherby mark V vanguars there two entirely diffrent makes

  • 1 of 2 @kalob35 Tell me how many pounds of felt recoil this works out to; 190 grain bullet, 2900 FPS, 70.4 grains of powder, on a 7 pound rifle. The answer is the felt recoil is exactly 35.21 foot pounds. I don’t know how you came up with 23-26 pounds of felt recoil.

And true, the Mark-V and the Vanguard are different models, one has a 26 inch barrel and the other a 24; it was a typo in the video. But you are probably also aware that they never made a Mark-V in 300 Win Mag either.

  • 2 of 2 As long as you are pointing out errors, work on your grammar and spelling, “Vanguard” is not spelled “vanguar,” and “diffrent” is spelled “different.” And lastly “Weatherby” is capitalized. I just figured I’d point out a few of your “lies” as you called them

  • Incredible shooting. i like the front angle shot.

  • unreal

you have got to be one of the best marksmen ive ever seen.

keep up the good videos, they keep me entertained for hours =P

  • @tippymaster14 Thanks! But I really need more of a life, this is my only hobby...

  • @mag30th hahaha no worries there, im in the same boat.

but if you are looking into a new hobby id gladly buy up some of your stock =P

  • @mag30th Lol who cares? This is a damn great hobby :)

  • anybody know of a long range in western new york? lol

  • Wow i would like to be able to just shoot that well out to 400 yards, great job

  • great informative video, great ballistic knowledge man enjoyed it very much.

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • unreal

  • hhhiiiiitttt

  • good video again!!

id love to have a place where i could shoot that far. prolly wouldnt be worth a crap at it, but it would be fun.

  • Wow, amazing shooting. I got a LONG ways to go before I can even think of 500 yards lol In time :P

  • @NormanMatchem really isnt to hard once you figure out your bullet drops . the hard part is keeping a good group lol

  • It's hard to find a 100 yard range in Belgium! Even the military ranges only go up to 300 meters or so ..

  • absolutely awesome shooting. i have a 300 win mag myself but havent ever attempted to shoot that far.

  • wow -- a category of videos all to yourself. Incredible!

  • Damn man. You look a little bored in that video. Hitting that plate again, and again, and again.. I guess you have to find a longer range... 1K yards doesn't thrill you anymore!

  • The .408 Cheytac is awesome... But at $7 a round thats expensive unless you are hitting a gunman/bomber at 1500-2300 yds

  • @joseph299 Heh point being, I want to see what kind of distance he can go out to and stay accurate and those are the 2 rounds to do it with :p

  • @gromann Lol I wouldnt doubt it if he had a .408 or .416 he could hit something 2000 yds out... Its something I would like to see. lol

  • Nice shooting! Do you ever take out something like the .416 barrett or .408 cheytac rounds? I want to see the limit of your skill :D

  • @gromann No, not yet anyways, but I'd like to.. :-) Thanks!

  • @mag30th How about 6.5x284? You can test your skill at a mile :)

  • @bsrman36 We're setting up for a mile right now, Hopefully we can have something within the month.
