oo..orig member, founder, lyricist, songwriter sya ng rivermaya way back 1992..pero umalis si bamboo nag migatre s US ata.then umalis si nathan ung bassist nila..almost a year ata sila idle.then someway rico learn to sing..now rico quits his band & go solo..

Rico didn't have to learn to sing because even in the first album, nag vocals na siya for Bring Me Down, and Panahon Na Naman for the Trip album.

HIndi din sila naging idle, they already recorded the 4th album before they left for the States. When Bamboo refused to come home with them, they had to re-record the album. This was the It's Not Easy Being Green cd.

And Rico did not quit just to go solo. He could have done that if that was the only reason. He just got burnt out and needed a break.

eversince rivermaya started,rico was the heart and soul of rivermaya, not bamboo, not m. escueta... eversince rivermaya started, he has been composing songs for them... which made rivermaya soar to stardom... who could forget 214 and many other hits... hits that werew composed and lyricized by rico... i cant believe the "maya sound" today, all out of sync and the old maya soul without rico... sad to say, im not a maya fan eversince rico left the group...
