If I was the dispatcher, I would have told the caller not to swear while on the phone. I wouldn't have hung up though or swear back to the caller. If the caller would have sworn again, I would just repeat myself not to swear.

In a job like this, he shouldn't have been hanging up on her (I've hung up on people at my job for swearing repeatedly, but those calls weren't emergencies). The whole point I'm making is I would have put the effort into trying to calm her down. Does it waste precious time that could result in life or death? Yes, it can... but I rather be dealing with someone who is calm. Again, this dispatcher did very poorly.

If they did, it would distract them from what's really important and the dad would just be getting worse as they would be caught up in common courtesy. If I was the dispatcher, I would have told the caller not to swear while on the phone. I wouldn't have hung up though or swear back to the caller. If the caller would have sworn again, I would just repeat myself not to swear.

In a job like this, he shouldn't have been hanging up on her (I've hung up on people at my job for swearing repeatedly, but those calls weren't emergencies). The whole point I'm making is I would have put the effort into trying to calm her down. Does it waste precious time that could result in life or death? Yes, it can... but I rather be dealing with someone who is calm. Again, this dispatcher did very poorly.

@TapangcoTV u cannot justify playing with someone's life just so YOU can feel comfortable with the "mood" of the call... she didn't cuss AT anyone, she was just saying "wtf" while waiting for the 911 responder to pick the phone up.. once she knew someone picked up, she WAS CALM until the guy started wasting time talking about proper phone etiquette while her dad is having a seizure on the floor.. a customer service job is an entirely separate world from a 911 emergency responders job

Just because this young lady was a bit foul-mouthed doesn't warrant being hung up on. Many, many people swear when they are panicked. This officer put someone's life at risk. In situations where someone collapses, or is bleeding heavily, precious seconds can mean the difference between a trip to the ICU and a trip to the morgue, and this officer wasted 6 MINUTES! In my opinion this officer should be permanently stripped of his badge at least - he disgraces those of us that honour it.
