Thank you for a truly inspiring video. The PMDG J41 is not an easy Aircraft to fly at the best of times and to land it on a bush strip like (Loon Creek) is impressive, you as a pilot know how to handle an Aircraft.
Great video, smooth flight. Don't worry about the criticism. It's only because they are not capable of doing the same and try to elevate themselves because of their poor skills.
Loosing the critical engine on that terrain should be a nightmare, there is no place to go whatsoever! Nice video, and nice airplane, is the J41 available for 2004? And answering the comment that you are a horrible pilot, maybe you are not the most professional, but boy, landing that j41 on an airstrip, with that kind of terrain... you got skills, nice video
Very nice approach but surely was not the plane for the task! Maybe if were not so gentle on the flare, landing a little harder you could have stopped on runway.
Why do you all always have to make rude, and stupid remarks? Who cares if he hit a few tree`s, its a flight simulator, do you all feel special because you notice something absolutly stupid?
uyyyyyyyyyy por un momento pensé que ibas a aterrizar y a darte la torta, pero luego vi que lo que hiciste fué una pasada baja para posterior aproximación. Buen video, y sobretodo buenos graficos...
@RZ3296 ya im a real pilot, well pilot in training. I train in a 172 g1000 out of KLGB longbeach at aces high(pacific flight school) aviation. I fly in most cessna 1484B but a few others to. Go to pacific flight school website and look up miguel Puente, he is my instructor email him and ask him if he has a student named Evan.
@alstoer1 Thanks I appreciate that. Hey if you like flying the PMDG J41. I started a ground level VA on the FSAirlines system. We could use a bunch of good consistent J41 Pilots. Mail me on Utube if interested.
Thanks... I appreciate it. Any chance you might be looking for a VA to fly the J41 in? I just started from ground up a VA in the "FSAirlines" system and I could use some J41 pilots. Interested?
Its a 9650 clocked to 3.6 with 4 gigs and a 285 on WinXP32bit. Looking for a VA to fly the J41 on? I just started a VA from the ground up based in the "FSAirlines" system. I could use some J41 pilots. Interested?
try different settings in the "FiberFrameFraction" setting in the FSX config file. So many things that happen in FSX are really system dependent. My settings won't work for another system.
LOL... you must be one of the PMDG Devs... Just kidding... If they woulda finished coding all the systems and included some way to be able to fail the systems then it might have the depth of the last two PMDG products. Just my humble opinion, but when compared to the MD11 and the 747, the J41 is an extremely pretty PMDG express product with good engine startup logic. Again Just my opinion. And you know what they say about oppinions.. ;)
PMDG included the Config file for the Reality XP weather radar in the plane. So if you own and have installed the RXP weather radar, it just shows up with the same functionality as included with the install.
The reversers got deployed, but FSRecorder didn't show reverser anucation light durring playback.. By the way, I tried this same situation again, but this time landing the opposite side, and there was no overun at all.. As a matter of fact, I stopped 300 feet short of the end of the runway. The opposite side approach allows you to get down into the stream bed and have a much shallower approach. I have the recording of it, Just haven't made the vid yet.
I just upgraded my comp to a Q9650 @ 3.6, 4fifs of 800 mhz corsair ram and a GTX285. I'm getting a solid 28-30 with no stuttering locked at 30 and very smooth Track Ir Panning. My settings are almost fully up on scenery about 80% and MytrafficX using 25% airlines and General Aviation. Clouds at 80 miles and full density with Rex2.0.
Yes it's totally worth it... It's a great addon. If you like TurboProps, this is the ticket.
Because Ive got this plane since three days now, but I'm still stuck on the ground, cause they don't start, even though I do not make any mistakes while starting them! >: (
99% of the problems people are having with the engines is because they don't read the manuals... I'm not saying that's you, but I have never had a problem.
I had issues too. Turns out, following the tutorial, the engines weren't on the start locks. With the engines in beta, there's a switch to the left rear of the pedestal which, when repeated clicked, will get the start locks on and allow you to start...
hehe, you could cook on that final. And you prolly washed all the mud off going thru the creek, but other than that i think the customers got thier moneys worth outta that flight. lol
Nice one buzz..
Oh and to the negative posters, Unrealistic that in RL someone would land that kinda money at loon creek, fortunatly in FSE buzz has a few bucks to burn. Im sure his next repair bill will remind him.
Why so unrealistic if you don't mind me asking? Is it because you probably would never see a regional TP landing at a 2500 foot dirt strip in the middle of nowhere?
First of all sir, your approch turns were WAY too step. second of all, i dont thnk th plane is even certified to land these kind of airports... let alone fly such a perilous appproach.
I know i know, this is a sim. but there are many people who wsh to fly as real as possible, i guess you're just not one of them.
First of all, the plane is certified up to +2.8 and something like -1.8 G's and no aerobatic flight... So the certification allows for that type of flight unless the limits are exceeded. I don't believe the limits were exceeded so, yes the maneuvers were realistic. Whether or not the plane is certified to land at that airport is a different story. I don't believe the tires are made for unimproved strips, so you would be risking it driving around on dirt. I am a stickler for realism. JB
I thought maybe he thought all the cross control (slipping) was unintentional... Either that or all the head movement (Track IR). I'm still pretty sure he can do better... ;)
To Thefsxflyer...... LOL... thanks for the comment. If you dont mind me asking, what portion of the profile and landing did you believe to be poor simming? Just curious, Im always ready to learn from someone with more knowledge. Or better yet, maybe you should post a video of you simming that approach and landing in the J41 to show me, "How its done".

please understand that the pilot in question was forced to use a certain amount of weight...
cargo weights and fuel weights are controlled by the FSE client
for more information look up FSEconomy
the cargo was destined for that airport, that was the plane being used... thus that was the flight he had to make...
FSEconomy pilots fly into some very interesting places using some interesting aircraft. Please feel free to check out FSE.
