Actually the CCCP didn't invade Afghanistan, they were asked by the afghan government to come in.

Yea big deal,if Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan you should see what USA did,invaded Native Americans land,invaded NKorea,invaded Vietnam,Invaded Iraq,Invaded Kosovo,Invaded Afghanistan etc etc.

- I have to add though, that as a communist, I did not support the USSR intervention in Afghanistan.

Well what happened is that the government of Afghanistan ASKED the Soviet Union to intervene because America invaded Afghanistan.
