  • impressive but this is WAY too fast for me, does my head in!

  • Unbelievable. The best version yet!

  • real great playing...

  • I want to see Nousche doing some Kung-Fu movies, slapping people at this speed.

  • the topic is executed too much fastly, contains of the imperfections of the unisoni of the two guitars. but after, personal improvisation is perfect. much beautiful

  • When i try and explain to my guitar friends how i feel people like Pat Metheny and Kurt Rosenwinkle,as technical and innovative as they are, lack passion and intensity, not too mention bore the fuck out of me with their tone.THIS is what I usually draw their attention to.Now THIS is fuckin passion, intensity, and melodic flavourings that lack so much in the new breed of guitar heroes

  • Anyone got the tabs for those solos?

  • La Mercedes,la caravane, la guitare, les manouches....

  • Oh so easy! :) I played this one on YouTube. So easy :D

  • man...even the rythm guitar is so difficult

  • LOVE YOUR PLAYING ROSENBERG

  • I WISH THEY WOULD DO A CONCERT HERE IN VEGAS , I FEEL AND KNOW IT WILL BE A SELL OUT THE FIRST TIME THE TICKETS GO ON SALE, PLEASE TRY AND COME HERE WE NEED MORE JAZZ HERE IN VEGAS LOVE YOU GUY'S

  • Any advice on where to start on learning to improvise in this style?

  • Comment removed

  • @conor30000 listen to a lot of jazz, learn your chords, your scales, understand the way your guitar works (which much more complicated when it comes to jazz haha) and practice, practice, practice...

  • @conor30000 Listen to django, know your scales cold, work on modes, listen to Pepe Romero

  • i really, really like it ! :)))

  • if you think Bireli is amazing check out Amsterdam homegrown talent Uruguayan guitarist Leonardo Amuedo!

  • @JazzLoverKhurram Done. Average guitar player. Really.

  • haha great ending!

  • lulz at bireli @ the end way to confuse nonnie!

  • I've seen this video about fifty times recently, and everytime Bireli starts with that solo I close my eyes and forget about all my problems...

  • From 2:50 to 3:00 is a fantastic triplet arpeggio played outside and against the chords that somehow works so good it just kills. Birelli cooks hard and fast on this Chick Corea song.

  • i ♥ this

  • stochelo is the john travolta of gypsy guitar!

  • @xXironraiderXx So he makes out with the other dudes of Gypsy guitar?

  • @fuckingassholeface hahaha idk about that.. but the guy just reminds me of a cool guitar playing John Travolta lol

  • @xXironraiderXx u dont know about all what?

  • Bireli is just amazing

  • the intro it's sounds like tunisian song called lamouni illi gharou ménni

  • I just packed all my guitars away...I QUIT ...!!!

  • Dam, I thought so ,no hope for me then!

  • 481048 views are mine

  • c'est vraiment exellent, mais personne à remarqué que bireli a un peu le look coluche ?

  • Anyone know what sort of fingers they use?, superb.

  • @wesman0120 The fast sort, with ultra quick neuromuscular connections and the optional sub-micron accuracy...

  • Okay, who else went cross eyed when they watched this?

  • this is simply fantastic. whoever tried to make music must understand this!!!

  • This is hyper bebop speeds. even Chic would have sore fingers

  • :)

  • No effects, no pyrotechnics, no loops, no auto-tune just straight ahead raw talent in your face!

  • wtf where the hell did that other guy come from? the guitarist between bireli and rosenberg

  • They such monsters, lol

  • il faut absolument leurs donner des papiers !!!

    mais change de poignet...

  • i had to watch this video for a school assignment, can someone please help me and tell me in detail what instruments were used and how you felt about this video?

    thanks so much,

    man these guys are talented

  • @xXprocrastinationXx

Wow, you don't know what instruments are being used here? I guess that would explain why you are stupid enough to ask YouTube to do your homework for you. such an easy assignment too lol. Wait til you have to write an essay bud.

  • My hands hurt just from watching them!

  • You have to be a Gypsy or at least live with them for the majority of your life to play on this level.

  • @hellookelly that's silly because Al di Meola is from New Jersey! silly hellookellykitty!

  • everytime I see that, I have suicide insincts

  • exelente

  • please don't try this at home, the men playing in this video are pro"s!!

  • wahnsinn

  • how hasn't the rhythm guitarist developed carpel tunnel JUST from playing the song! incredible...

  • The rhythm guitar is perfect and really makes this gig!!

  • DAMN!!! the guitar is the greatest instrument in the world!

  • @BeatBay ????????

  • I think I will always look up to Stochello's speed, precision and improvisation.... wow Lagrene is brilliant too and sorry I don't know the other musicians but obv are great to be playing with those two.

  • damn!! i like lagrene but this version of spain loses 3/4 of his taste

  • Im going to see em both tonight. Got to go right now actually :P

  • that lick at 1.30 makes me laugh, its so fuckin tasty

  • what guitar is Stochelo playing?

  • @amnesia271

    Leo Eimers Guitars

  • @amnesia271 Guitare SELMER MACCAFERRI N°503

  • this suck -_-

  • @1337ERIK1337 ahahahahahhahah. Your sister

  • 18 people tried to play this

  • @wilrock910 best comment ever.hands down

  • @wilrock910 LOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!

  • @wilrock910 19!

  • @wilrock910 LOLOL! Best dislike anti-comment ive ever seen :D

  • @wilrock910 And ten more tried

  • I worked all week to get as these guys and I failed.

  • Bireli´s solo is awesome - sounds like one by George Benson -> his California Dreaming version (for those who dont know - very very relaxing song!)

it is so impressing how fluent and emotional they play - they truly manage it to let a guitar sing, awesome

  • The guy that impresses me the most is the rythm guitarist! Listen to that beat!

  • one special thanks to the rythmic guitarist... fast as hell!!!!!!!!!!and maybe not so far from those two monsters!!!!!

  • It's mostly based on exposure. Most kids grow up with whatever's on TV and the radio. You rarely hear jazz or classical, let alone gypsy playing in the mainstream. Thus, I have very little hope in my generation's taste in music.

  • Isn't this a chick corea song or return to forever?

  • @chillichomper Yup. Chick Corea off Return to Forever's "Light As A Feather" album was the first appearance I think. It's become a modern Jazz standard by now though with quite a lot of people covering it but mostly guitarists since it's very flamenco influenced & the perfect vehicle for melodic soloing.

  • God I love music!

  • Lagrene is a beast... As is Stochelo

  • Bireli kicked major ass on the improv. It was like he had a week to think it over, and he lasted a while. Go Bireli.

  • Comment removed

  • at the end... they realized how amazing was their playing

  • Gypsy is good.

    Electric is good.

    Deal with it.

  • meu tio ta tocando ...

  • untouchables

  • By God! That rythm guitarist is groooooooooooving!!!!

  • bireli me fait rêver comme d'habitude...

  • Please Humans !! Music is meant to Unite people !!!! leave your Egos outside, Please!!!!

I love Birelli he is mi favorit but I also love The Rosenberg trio, Dubare, Luc ... and all Birelli's company.

They are friends for God's shake!!!!Lets enjoy the beauty they are giving to us and be a part of it all!

  • Wow !!!!!!!

Pure Talents and beautiful music !!!

  • I guess i should have qualified that statement by saying king of "new breed" jazz guitar players. There is no disputing the fact that players like Di Meola,Mclauglin, and others you mention, have and always will be monster players.I was particularly facing Bireli off with Metheny, who i am sick and tired of hearing about.Particularly from new generation guitarists. It is also my opinion that most players from a gypsy lineage, starting from Django, kick ass, and are far more interesting.

  • Bireli is not only king of gypsy guitar, but in my opinion of ALL jazz guitar.Extremely versatile...I wish more modern day jazz guitar players would acknowledge this guy.I'm sick and tired of hearing how Metheny is this and Metheny is that..I think Metheny should get a nice clean sound, knock off that really annoying chorus/reverb that he uses that makes him sound like he is playing down in a well somewhere, and get in with these guys for a set.It would bust the metheny worshippers bubble.

  • @loksinsan So Bireli invented everything and all others are suckers.Ok i understand.I guess George Benson is nobody Allan Holdsworth,Frank Gambale,Shawn Lane,Django,Al Di Meola,Paco De Lucia,John Mclaughlin are all noobs too and only Bireli is god...sure i understand.

  • Bireli is always too comfortable when he improvises. Doesn't seem to be thinking of what he's doing, which i guess is a testament of his greatness. BUT, Stochelo's improve always sounds prettier.

  • stolechelo! you fu@#in rock me!

  • Yes Gods!

In this case i think Stochelo won the race :-)

  • @CALO65 I respectfully disagree. 2:52

  • @JazzJunkie4

Yes please disagree , cause in fact there are only winners in here.

    All of them.

    regards Calo

  • I'm sure that some rock/fusion band has made a cover of the first solo part from 0:24. In the other song they repeat it 4 times i think.

Can someone please help me find it? I've totally forgotten who made it!

  • @krissjr

the piece is from the fusion dude himself, chick corea.

  • This is top musicianship

  • 3:00 stochelo's face tells "this sounds lame! what the fuck is he doing?"

then at 4:40 says "this should work instead"

  • @Sk3z no, thats the look one of the best guitar players alive and to ever exist gives the other guy who is literally the best to ever exist when he solos and improvs. Its a studied look, like "what ever bireli does, i think i should listen carefully and learn something new"

  • @hellookelly yes, but still maybe 50%50

  • Awesome!

  • Fantasztikus zene,zenészek

  • Unnecessary*

  • Just add some distortion in... This thingy would sound like some sort of insanely ridiculous metal with necessary amount of shredding \m/

    That's the magic of music...

  • send that rhythm giutarist ti iraq...his hand is an automatic machine gun

  • just posted a new django reinhardt lesson video for guitar

    check it out!

  • It's not a studio recording, and as far as I can see difficult and demanding enough to be something of a risk for public performance, and this is without the interruption of Escoude. The small flaws are not of much interest to me. I wonder if they ever did play a studio version?

  • Having said that, this is really an historic performance, and I think that even Corea would recommend it as the best of interpretations of his composing

  • @monjoUtube i think they are really great players lagrene and stochelo... but this version has something veeeeeeery strange at the end... they really mess it up hear the end... stochelo was going to feel a coda... but then he saw lagrene not playing any more and stoped... and the last melody is horrible armonized or someone is 1 fret wrong position. dont get me wrong i truly love this players they are top of the list.. but someone mess it up.

  • @Nu9v9 no wrong notes I think, but yeah stochelo messed the end :D

  • @r3ck0rd no stochelo didn't mess up.. but what did the 3d guitarist doing at the end.. It took the concentration away for a second!!

  • @Pan3405 3rd guitarist? which? all players have stopped playing except stochelo...

  • @r3ck0rd look at 4:37!

  • @Pan3405

    Escoude?

ok I dunno what's going on but bireli and stochelo poked escoude after the song ended.

  • This is an astonishing effort by two of the very best working in this genre. Bravo!

Two things worth the mention, first the astonishing appearance of Escoude, which must have been a terrible distraction to their concentration... Escoude's guitar also appears to have a broken string that perhaps in a hurried change remained attached to the guitar? Escoude is a great guitar player, but I'm afraid he's not quite in the top flight.

  • I don't even see how this is possible!

    How?

    These guys are "pretty amazing"

  • Bravissimi: meno male che c'è ancora questo livello musicale in essere!! Complimenti a tutti

  • For me Nous'che was the star here. He sounds like a fucking freight train!

  • inanılmaz

  • In this song, it's Nous'che's perfect rhythm playing that gives the unique atmosphere. Insane rhythm!

  • I love these guys

  • Bireli plays great, but I really like Stochelos tone.

  • Haha! trust these guys to take a killer tune and speed it up even more, incredible!

  • I think it's fantastic! Really pulls in a lot of that Spanish vibe...

  • sounds like the grand turismo music, when your in the license lobby haha

  • incredible, I love it so much!

  • That 's too fast !

    I can' t say any more !

  • I only wish I could have been there...

  • not to be commenting what everyone else does (the MEN playing), i pity the rhythm guitar player. his wrist must hurt afterwards...

  • Nous'che is the best rhythm player on the planet!

  • Nous`che and Malcolm Young...

  • the real song is fast... google Chic Corea's free jazz version with Gonzalo Rubalcaba... and tell me if it loses its identidad ;)... the concept of jazz is the flexibility of a songs identity... lagrene's solo is beautiful

  • Heey, he's just saying what he thinks about the song.

I think it's too fast too, but that doesn't make it bad.

But I think they played it right never the less...

  • lol bireli seems to also think its too fastat 0:28

  • I'll add to my previous comment.. I was such a Django freak in those days..I was only a kid myself..what divided me from my "electric" friends was my love of jazz..Gypsy guitar jazz... did any budding guitarist see the lightning finger work?..makes shredders look like hacks eh?..God i wih I had an ounce of that talent!

  • @andrenuk If you wish you had an ounce of their talent... then practice for however long it takes to get an ounce of their talent... makes sense to me.

  • @andrenuk talent is french for hardwork, practice and dedication.

  • @Alejandro4891 talent is gipsy dude!

  • @andrenuk makes shredders look like hacks? THIS is shredding in its highest form.

  • I was lucky enough to see Bereli in about 1982 in Stuttgart when he was just a kid..he was acompanied by his brothers..all wearing workers hats and smoking on stage!..It was a magical evening I've never forgotten.

  • Ha ha! the guy in the jacket finished first he wins!

  • Man they play their asses off. What cracks me up is when they finish they are so casual about it as if to say it's all in a days work. well I guess it is for them. lol

  • shame the head's so messy, otherwise great

  • =O

    Demaaais !!

  • who is stochelo?

  • i think:

    white t-shirt = lagrène

    dark blue... = rosenberg

  • Comment removed

  • Bireli's in white.

  • honestly though, that head is a trainwreck...

  • that rhythm player is amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • muito bom mesmo !!!

  • OK dude, two tooootally different styles of music, this one has improvisation, danellio is soo amazing, but way different cuase it's classical

  • bireli is soo relaxed :P gotta love them!

  • this is the best player and perfect like a god ! I ve' ever heard.

  • great

  • great soloes

  • les meilleurs guitariste manouche reuni terrible les mecs

  • Yeah! no one can deny the African blood in all humanity! Jazz is the epitome of that even in the "cerebral" sense.

    Ricey! I am. 日本

  • wow...!! jazz lives every where in any culture....

  • the best duree

  • Jazz a vienne 2000

  • what is the name of the third guy ?

  • Comment removed

  • Christian Escoudé

  • christian sits this one out...

  • bireli = shrek!

  • fantastico !!

  • Really nice, although bireli´s solo is a bit to out of the box for me;)

  • Haha, great demented ending ;) Great players, great music, indeed.

  • 2:50

    great stuff!

  • Damn! Bireli's got better chops than most of these "shredders" out there and he's not even using distortion!!!!
