Doesn't this guy realize he's not going to please everybody but he's going to piss everybody off if he just keeps banning cards after each and every tournament. Alright I get it fine leaving cards that kill the format in the format for too long makes the format unfun (see jace the mind sculptor in the last standard) but banning cards after 1 single tournament is just jumping the gun and making the format just as unfun as letting bad cards sit.
@sakonhagakure That's what they want to avoid. They've only banned...what...2 cards last year? At least it's not like yugioh, where not only is banning a regular thing, its scheduled
I don't have a problem with a reliable 3/3 when you have some extra land. I mean, the reason they have with banning Wild Nactaal was that it was too strong for its mana cost. What about the Leylines from M11 or the Chancellor's from New Phyrexia, which can do stuff for literally no cost, and with some of them, they can totally alter what the board would normally look like before the game even starts up. That and the Zoo deck was actually pretty fun to watch.
@coltsfan354 Because the Leylines and the Chancellors only do something for no cost a very small percentage of the time, and most of those things are not even that good?
@ewokFTW also the problem with modern is if you don't play legacy or standard then you just play casual or edh, there is no reason to stay between legacy or standard.
Modern still sucks, will continue to suck, and will always suck as long as Wizards continues to "fix" the format. Which is making the format what they want and not the player's want. They killed Extended, they've tried to necro it into Modern and failed. I look forward to the moment the format dies, which should be any minute now.
Nobody asked for this interview. It's amazing how i see stupid comments on every one of Evan's videos. Yes there's echoes...deal with it. It's still a great video
I love interviews with Aaron. So down to earth and earnest. It's nice to see a company that's not afraid of their employees saying "We underestimated the challenge, we messed up a little, we're going to fix things". I don't play Magic anymore but seeing that kind of stuff is really appreciated.
chapin's grixis control is ridicilous...since world's i've played it, and it's very hard to beat because of the stuff you can get to destroy their board so dumb
Great interview. Forsythe is always so straightforward and upfront about mistakes that WOTC or R&D has made in the past. I really appreciate that in a person who runs a company.

can we have the origonal modern ban list back please, that looks like the healthiest modern has been so far.
magmarex1 2 months ago
banning stuff is a slippery slope, they need to make damn sure its necessary to ban a card.

P.S. God willing they never touch Legacy. They know knowing about it, and they admit this, so don't try to fix something you know nothing about.
