  • Thanks man. I'm rebuilding a G5 without a hard-drive and the fans sound like a jet engine when the system starts up so I'm trying to clean it thoroughly to ensure the PSU is not the problem. It appears i'm gonna have to remove the motherboard to get to the PSU, so much for elegance.

  • @towdow3 - Boot up from your restore CDs and use disk utility from there to format the drive.
