I like the manga version better. Plus I support Ryoga and Akari as a couple. Rumiko has her reasons to introduce Akari to the series. And plus I wish they continue the series with Akari as new character.

Of course Akari was made for Ryoga.

It was all because the fans demanded Ryoga's happiness.

That, and the end of the manga shows that Ryoga has accepted that Akane would not be with him. Not that fanfic writers seem to notice. -_-'

Oh and Ukyo... Yeah... I never understood that. Shippers just pair anyone together if they share enough screentime.

Akari came late in the series making me think she was just there to be with Ryouga, you know as an excuse or a fall back, same with that Cinderella ninja dude konatsu but she's still one of my favorite characters in the Ranma 1/2 universe.

Thanks for this video, it's taught me a lot about another character I never saw in the anime.

You're right, if Ryoga wasn't so DENSE, he could actually understand what Akari was saying earlier, and they could have started dating earlier. However, that meant that Ukyo and Ryoga's bond would not have been as strong, but the triangle would still be there.

Yep, that's normal for the chaos of Ranma 1/2.

ranma is just a bunch of love triangles interconnected with each other. and if you add the hate triangles you get the pure chaos that is Ranma 1/2. this series need to be finished. the other manga stories could get the ranma anime well into the 400 episodes mark. herb and saffron should be 2 full-length movies.

Great review of Akari's character. I've only read pits and pieces of the manga (want to read it in its entirety) but Akari was a character I liked instantly. I loved the Scot Pilgrim references. I hope to see more Manga Character reviews. That would be great.

That's really the only character that truly loves Ryoga for who he is and what he is. Too bad many Ranma fans weren't smart enough to read the manga and only watch the anime. If they would have taken the time to read the manga, Akari would be there. In the manga, Ryoga really couldn't decide it was given that his heart was starting go to Akari. I mean he did have a picture of both of them. Still Akari really was really the only character that never got mad at anyone especially Ryoga.
