anime = Japanese word for animation. They call ANY cartoon 'anime' in Japan. That includes Donald Duck and Betty Boop and Sailormoon.

Speaking of what defines the 'anime' image (in the foreign miss-use of the Japanese language), big sparkly eyes, deformed bodies with big heads. Sounds like Betty Boop to me, but that's because Japanimation (the original word for Japanese cartoon) was meant to mimic the American cartoons of that time. :)

How did you put the subs on?

I used 3 programs to make the video. I first used VisualSubSync to time the karaoke. I then used Aegisub to do the typesettings. I then used VirtualDubMod to apply the subtitles onto the video (but you need to install a plugin called "Textsub". The textsub plugin comes with Vobsub).
