  • F lorrie..

  • @123bluegrassgirl He resorted to nail polish etc. because she was a control freak and hid everything. He drank that much because she was mean to him and didn't understand him. Keith came from a called family and if anyone understands spiritual warfare it explains many unfortunate things that happened to his family, and himself. Lorrie wasnt so good to him. I joked on my previous comment but in all reality God is the judge.

  • he was.. but Lorrie needs to be pimp smacked for doing him like that! I don't care about the stories how she tried to get him to quit drinking.... She did him wrong so F her.

  • Fame is a hard thing to handle for some. Keith was a natural and left us too soon!

  • Love this song. Keith was a wonderful singer. Sad he had to go.

  • Nashville and it's devils killed Keith Whitley, Stardom and Fame and Glory. That killed Keith, it killed Hank Too. Think about it and see if I'm right.

  • They made such a beautiful couple - so sad to lose him.

  • Please let God judge who was to blame.

  • @bobbijac amen to that.

  • This is amazing. the family truly appreciates it.

  • I miss him..

  • the late great keith whitley is one of my favorite singers.

  • Had Keith lived and stayed with Laurie they would have taken over my beautiful pair singers George Jones and Tammy Wynette , sorry George but they really would have been the love couple of the century.........I still love youguye' sorry just had to share this with you

  • Beautiful. Never heard of Keith Whitley before. What a voice. Lovely duet.

  • Beautiful song & beautifully sung, but them both.Arthur

  • I love this so much!!! Beautiful song & harmonies!!!

  • awesome song he will be missed

  • any addiction must be terrible. KW had so much to live for but, he couldn't overcome alcohol. so sad.

  • @beavis4play Just read your comment. One of the sane ones about Keith Whitley. But people do blame lorrie. That s just sad. When I die will they blame my wife? Me, Jose and Coors do a nightly dance. Sad i know

  • @starr522 - i don't pretend to understand why people become "hooked" on something - i never fell into that sort of thing. i do know people who have; and , it's a terribly sad situation to be around. and no, i wouldn't blame anyone for another persons addiction......that's just stupid. thanks for the reply!

  • @starr522, I agree that its sad when they blame the spouse for someone's addiction. According to a section I read in a country music book, Lorrie tried everything to get Keith to stop drinking. She even went so far as to tie their legs together, so she'd know if he left their bed at night to get a drink. She also had to hide common things like nail polish, mouthwash, and even rubbing alcohol from him, because he would drink them for the alcohol.

  • He was amazing. Too bad that Alcohol took another great one. I am not going to let it take me. RIP Keith. Your AA Brothers

  • @TheFrenchQuarterBack One Day At A Time - it works :)

  • fantastic duet - true love song - and tragic ending for Keith and Lorrie

  • One of the best country singers ever !!!!

  • they were together?

  • awesome love!!

  • @joshuaknuck, Josh I saw them at a concert he was just in from the road as she left. He just got into her bus and went to sleep. when the concert was over. She had him to come to the stage and they sang together. I looked through field glasses and saw love between them that I felt I could have reached out and touched if I had been close enough! It is something I will never forget.

  • I just read Keith's Bio and it said and I already know that he died from alcohol poisoning, but it said that his Blood Alcohol Level was .477 when he died. Yikes!!!!!

All I can say is Yikes!!!!!!

This may sound cruel to some but no wonder he died. However, he had so much talent and he created some of the best songs in country music.

    R.I.P. Keith

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever. I agree Keith had the perfect voice that just touched your heart and let you feel what he was singing. He and Lorrie sang so well together I have often thought that it was a pity they didn't dismantle one of the bands and tour together. What great music they could have made. It must be really lonely on the road and they would have been together. On another thought if I had a husband that looked like him I would not have let him out of my sight.

  • Thanks a million from this old retired truck driver.

  • Isn't this one of the most beautiful songs ever written? I love to hear Keith and Lorrie. What a lovely duo. Keith could sing any song and make it a hit. I recall listening to some of his earlier music before he became the star he was and he never failed to make a song so enjoyable. What a tragic day when he left us. Thank you for posting this winner. - Paula

  • What a sad reality ... this incredibly talent, no longer here ... because of a very accepted killer. Liquor...

Can't help it, I still miss Keith Whitley.

  • Your so right! But weed is illegal go figure! You know if Keith had been a pot smoker he may still be alive!

  • This is such a beautiful song by Keith and Lorrie. I believe Keith has one of the most perfect voices I've ever heard. It seems he's always right on pitch in every song he's sung. This song is another great example of what good country music is all about. It's one of the favorites done with Karaoke I've found. Thank you so much for posting this video. Also, thank you Ramey58 for the link. - Paula

  • I think this is a great song. You can tell there was a lot of love between those two. I just wonder how many takes it took her to get through the song without crying. I am not sure if I could have done it or not. I don't think she has ever gotten over him.

  • Was Keith still alive when the song was recorded,I'm thinking he was but not sure?anyway I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!

  • He recorded it on his own, but it had not been released before his death. She added her vocals to it and then released it as a duet. I got that information from Wikipedia.
