hello heta and anuja is the cocoa powder sweetened or unsweetened or does it matter at all? i live in a very asian country where lady fingers dont exist. dont even know if the cake is available in the grocery, is there anything else i can use ? what about regular biscuits or graham
this recipe is great.......theres some great twists in it compared to the orignal recipe....i think u guys r great...da recipe is out of this world...luv ut
There is some difference between this recipe and the original one. The original one is uses raw eggs. This one is a nice substitute. You can't be absolutely sure in the eggs from a supermarket. The other question is soaking the lady fingers. We have a big choice in my country. Soaking time is different from type to type. You have to try it. Some like it to have some dry part in the middle. Sometimes it 1-2 sec sometimes it is 5-10 sec depending your ladyfingers.
I tried this cake for my birthday ( I like baking so I make my own cake ) and it was the most delicious tiramisu recipe I've ever tasted. I made it yesterday and I ate almost all of the cake today. Lol. Thanks for this really delicious dish. You're the best chef I've ever known. I can't wait to make this recipe for my mother on her birthday which is on 31st January.
Dear Hetal and Anuja, This was a great recipe. I'm gonna try this for my father's birthday. One question, how many inches is the pan, is it 8 inch by 8 inch or 9 inch by 9 inch? Oh and also how tall is the pan? Please answer question, my father's birthday is in 3 days.
@ShowMeTheCurry Thanks for replying! My father loved it. He said it was really delicious and my father liked the cream cheese. He isn't such a big fan of mascarpone cheese. Not sure why. But anyway, can you guys make a red velvet cake? If you guys can, can you guy make it eggless. I wanna make a red velvet cake for valentine's day and I need a wonderful recipe. Please answer question.
When you're cooking the yolks over the double boiler, is the color of the eggs the indicator that it's done, or will it change consistency or something like that?
this looks so yummy! thank you very much for sharing(: i've always tried looking for a good recipe and i found it:)<3 i can't wait to try this recipe!:D
it isn't the real Tiramisù (literally "pick me up, in english lol)well, i'm from Italy and we putting SAVOIARDI (ladyfingers...dipped in COFFEE layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and MASCARPONE, and flavored with liquor and Cocoa;)
Thank you, this was a great alternative recipe. I have avoided making this because lady fingers are no where in my area and as you have mention mascarpone is very pricey. This is a great way to have a similar treat without the high cost. Thank you.

I am amazed hetal and anuja, by the negative comments u got . I wrote something to put some sense into the so called Italian critiques . Hopefully it does work ? You guys have made it quite clear that it's originally made with mascarpone . Nobody is stopping anybody from making it their way , it's really hard to find it in USA even where I live , sometimes people have to do with thing that they can find , it just food , not the end of the world , these people must truly have some other problem
@dineshwarik : Thank you so much for your support :) We realize that we cannot please everyone and have since learned to turn a blind eye to bad and nonconstructive criticism...

@ShowMeTheCurry i Like the video a lot. maybe some people got confused...my suggestion is too add a lil description on the title, saying that it is not the european style.
Che sema !!! Non ai unpo di patienca per gente di altri paese . Serve Che deci , brava , Che un Indiana prepara con molto amore , un mangare di suoi!!! Ma !!!!
This is NOT Tiramisù. Tiramisù is made with mascarpone, and the body is given to the cream with the egg whites beaten stiff. And we Italians DO NOT use rum. We use Amaretto, which is an Italian almond liquor! This is an American alternative. Giving volume with something fatty like whipping cream...
Sorry, but this is totally misleading, and an insult to my culture!!
With all due respect...we are merely trying to offer a decent substitute for mascarpone as it is not easily available to many of our viewers. If you try it, you may agree that the taste comes pretty close to authentic tiramisu. :)
hi ... I always made thistiramisu in many ways ... sometimes I'll use regular cream cheese or mascarpone cheese but in malaysia mascarpone cheese a bit expensive .. so I always make this tiramisu using philadelphia cheese .. it was nice and creamy ... you can try using the Philly cheese ..

Hey I tried this recipe on Valentine's Day, it was so delicious. I made it in the evening and had it after dinner. That time the lady fingers were slightly crunchy. But when I had it the next day , it was damn good. the fingers were soft like cake. So I guess it is very much necessary to chill it for 8-9 hours or overnight to enjoy the taste. Thanks for the recipe!!
I just tried the recipe today and it was delicious! The filling was so good!! Thank you both so much for all your recipes, you make cooking easy, fun, and very yummy!
I was looking for a chocolate cake recipe and instead tried this out. Being a vegetarian I completely skipped the egg part and still the outcome was fabulous. I don't miss the Cheesecake factory Tiramisu now. Thank you Anuja and Hetal.

i think the point of double boiler is to not have the water touching the bowl. The steam is enough to gently cook the eggs.

This is a version of it. It may not be the traditional one, but everyone has their own recipes and this is the one they are showing.

I'm italian and besides the creamcheese and a few other steps, it is very similar to how my region makes it.

I was looking for a chocolate cake recipe and instead tried this out. Being a vegetarian I completely skipped the egg part and still the outcome was fabulous. I don't miss the Cheesecake factory Tiramisu now. Thank you Anuja and Hetal.
