  • check me singing this song on my channel:)

  • Vi ne kapirate da prevod treba da bude u duhu jezika, ne moze da se kaze 'How many times I repeated..' Tacnije moze ali je jednostavno lepse reci 'I live and pray for you'

    U tome je lepota prevoda.

  • Translation is very very wrong....

  • @DimitrijeKnezevic I hope not, lol. 'Cause the lyrics in the translation are amazing. I hope it isn't that far from the real lyrics.

  • @DimitrijeKnezevic why what does it actually say? i really want to know but apparently the english lyrics are different then the original and i cant find it anywhere

  • @mejrical1

It does not matter that the translation is not very good (I wouldn t know (o:) but at least it gives those of us who do not speak your language a feel for what this song is about.......but beside that this song so very much speaks for itself, in my opinion this is the most beautiful song that I have ever heard in any song contest,it is my absolute eternal favourite song.........

  • beautiful song, horrible translation :s

  • Is this a lesbian song? Always the same thing. Lyrics like this would be something brave to respect in 18th or 19th century. But today, and in Europe, what's the special? :-S

  • She has an English studio version as well. I prefer this one though.

  • this song is amazing! greetings from seattle, Washington in the U.S.

your's IQ is probably under 70... sou we forgive you -.-

  • Prijevod nije dobar, ako zelis prepraviti, javi.

  • @valnaduljina Bukvalan prevod ne bi imao smisla, bolje ovako nego da se doslovno prevodi rec po rec.

  • @againme1 Ne govorim o bukvalnom, vec o smislenijem prijevodu - onom koji nije na razini osnovne skole.

  • What a Fantastic song! The onely song from the 2000's which was a FULLY DESERVED WINNER!!!!!

  • Ovo je musica! :)

  • it looks better not knowing the meaning ... better in serbian even though i don't understand nothing

  • @TheMusic4ife

That's because it is better in serbian

The lyrics are more suitable to the music and much stronger in serbian version, it's real poetry

There's just no way to translate some serbian expresion in english

  • I got goosebumps!!!

  • Great Song ! greatings from Brother Russia

  • Great song.

  • breathtaking song

  • I speak russian natively and I was able to understand like 60% of the song without any knowledge in serbian language. That's cool ! Gotta love slavic languages !

  • @SoapySoul Well i studied Russian aswell..i would rather say 30% not 60% but ok...

  • this is an amazing song. you can really se that she means every word she sings.

  • I am so proud :D Serbia <3

Ps: Sub isnt so good xD

  • Was it really necessary to add "Srbija do tokija" at the end? I posted this song on my profile but when I translated these words, I remembered when and by whom they had been used. I deleted the videos because of my friends who wouldn't understand.

  • I LOVE this song very very much, it is really sung with so much heartfelt emotions, Molitva.......wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Such a beautiful song, and amazing singing skills, congrat Serbia.

  • Lovely song :) What is the house/trance song at the end of the vid?

  • how a honest tribute to real love!

  • 1 thing its destiny not prayer.

  • @champ97100, 'molitva' means prayer in Serbian. Most other Slavic languages as well. Google translate, perhaps? 'Sudbina' means destiny.

  • @champ97100, having said that, it is true that the translation is horrible.

  • the best . the most beautiful song ever in the eurovision history!!!!!

i'm self a Serbian. But its not only the country where you life but the song is the most important thing of singing and i love this song so much!

  • Every time I listen to this song, every time it gives me goosepumps :) and I don't even speak Serbian but she sings so passionately that it touches your soul :))

  • i love this song, i don´t understand a simple word because i'm portuguese but i still in love with this song. This music is a piece of genious.

  • ovo nije dobar prevod na engleski jezik..obratite paznju...ali marija rockssss <3

  • koll

  • Please watch Ricardo Soler singing Molitva....

  • i saw a male cover of this song...

    here - > longkeedogh1

  • the translation doesnt do the song any justice i was translating it in my head as the song was playing and most of the translation is wrong. but the serbian version is amazing. and my name is marija too:P:P

  • @0512007d I'm not sure what you mean by "It's the same everywhere, not just Serbia"

Actually, in most of the civilized world, there's a gay parade every summer and no one gets murdered.

  • I don't know Serbian language but this song gives me goose bumps anyway :)

  • i just love you marija

  • This year we will have a gay singer again :D, the song is not so good as "molitva", it is actually comlitely diferent but it's pretty fine :D And yes, it is big irony but it seems it is the easiest way to become popular, horror

  • Great song. I love it.

What a hilarious irony that Serbia, where any attempts to have a gay pride parade end in injury, murder and tears, sent a gay song to win a eurovision.

  • @togglepants2 Your are right togglepants. Being LGBT is fine when it suits officaldom, but it's the same the world over not just Serbia. Loved the song from the moment I heard it, her sexuality did not cross my mind.

  • @togglepants2 who was murdered ? since when is marija gay ?

spread your nonsense faggy-propaganda somewhere else, you mental retard .

  • @Serbkules

    Since when is Marija gay?

She's singing a song about her female lover, you dumbfuck.

Who was murdered? I'm talking about Taton last year. Anyway, like I said. Funny that Serbia has such a terrible record with the human rights of homosexuals, but they send gay songs to eurovision. Serbia's funny

  • @togglepants2 "Sweety", you're the only one funny here. For someone who is 37, you're incredibly immature and superficial. The tragic death of Taton

was comitted by extreme football fans and it was not the first crime of that kind in the world. Have you ever heard of Heysel?

LGBT people have all rights in Serbia; the pride is a problem as it is seen as offense to public morals by some. Personnally, I don't mind.

  • This song is killing me, great great. Greetings from NY

  • the translation is too free. she didn't say half the things in the subtitles.

  • Świetna piosenka, szkoda, że z Polski na Eurowizję nigdy taka dobra piosenka nie jedzie.

  • fantastic song =)

  • kako ga je otpjevala.

    svaka čast

  • i love the song and the singer:P she is open and im happy

  • Good job!:) This subtitle is the right one,the most beautiful and it really helps to others to understand this song in the right way.

  • ? Do you still live ESC in Italy, I was getting worried :P

  • Probably the best Eurovision song ever. Really. Greets from Italy, we love Eurovision yet!

  • Amazing song

  • Pozdrav :)

Izvini sto sam psovala na tvom video klipu, onaj moron CesemPicu nas je zvao ciganima. Slobodno obrisi ovaj moj komentar ako ga procitas ;)

  • @KitCat1903

    Dobro nema problema ;)

Ima dosta takvih morona ovde.. srecom postoji ' Block User' dugme :p

  • Serbia got to the contest "alone" for the first time and won!

  • AMAZING! WOW! GOOD JOB SERBIA!!!

  • Beautiful. Powerful. Utterly awesome.

  • Pure perfection. From the song, to Marija's voice, to choreography, to styling- to everything, Divine. Definitely one of my favorite songs ever!

  • This is probably my favorite Eurovision song.

  • I love this song. Nice with subtitels in english! Best Regards Ambrosia28

  • clearly the best song that year, beautiful song

  • beautiful song and an amazing singer!!!

    Greetings from Hungary :)

  • BEATIFULL SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ah, super da je netko napravio doslovni, ili skoro doslovni prijevod na engleski... jer stvarno pjesma je na srpskom jeziku NEUSPOREDIVO bolja! Vidim da si napravila/napravio neko 'između' rješenje za jedan interesantni dio pjesme:

da je ime tvoje moja jedina - molitva!

ili: da je ime tvoje - moja jedina molitva! ;)

shvatit će tko želi da shvati! Pozzz

  • Love this song! <3

  • ju suze mi na oci krenule, pesma je tako srcana!!!

  • my knowledge of russian always gave me a slight understanding and the english version of the song is nothing compared to the original.

So seeing this, and comparing even to the bad translations, I really really appreciate the song even more now.

  • One of the most amazing and beautiful songs EVERRRRRRRR

  • i live in scotland and i know the words in serbian! xxx

  • It's been years, but I still love this song so much. :'3

  • me too :), she is awesome!

  • Excellent song! Marija has put her heart in it.... a job well accomplished!

    Greeting to Serbs from India!

  • Ova vam je pijesam odlicna! Svaka vam cast! ;)

  • This song could only make the Serbs, because it is the only one of the greatest gifts that God gave them.

  • this song has real depth and feeling to it and marija is a great singer, gave me goosebumps ;)

  • thanks marija for to make Belgrade the city of my first eurovision . thanks for to make me cry ( in a positive way ) with your song . thanks to all serbian people who helped me so so much during my days at the serbian city.

and thanks to my great friend slobodan :)

    HVALA SRBIJAAAA

  • This is very good song!!!

    Bravo Marija!!!

  • Marija Serifovic - Molitva / The Prayer I can't sleep at all, Empty bed is keeping me awake, But life can't wait, It passes at speed of snap of a finger It's like I'm losing my mind, Because I'm not noticing the reality at all I still love you so much, I still trust you blindly Like crazy I don't know where to go I'm afraid of new love And I already stopped to count sore wounds, which days are to me
  • Chorus:

    The prayer

Is like flame on my lips

    The prayer

Just your name is, without the words

    Heaven knows, like I do,

Oh, how many times I have just said it,

    Heaven knows, just like me

That your name is my only prayer

  • But I can't lie to God

    As long as I pray

But I do, when I say

    I don't love you

    Chorus

  • @dr4z3n

I actually like this literal translation more than the one in this video :)

  • You can't translate the song literally like that..

It sounds stupid and you lose the meaning of the song..

  • Maybe because I'm Greek, I don't find this literal translation strange at all. I think that Serbian and Greek share some syntactical similarities and although this might sound stupid in English, I like it better because it shares a structure similar to Greek. :)

  • Also, having the Serbian text next to the literal translations, I can understand the Serbian, which word is which. That is a great help, since I've been trying for years to learn this song by heart, but needed to understand it's structure to do it. Thank you to all literal translators!

  • I have to correct myself, Serbian and Greek share *many* syntactical similarities after all, almost the same lingual structure. I can't believe it! A literal translation in Greek would be just normal sounding, word for word. It's amazing! I now understand this song and love it even better and more!

  • Btw, girls singin' choirs are the best!

  • Well, as I hear she sings 'Your name, my only prayer' - 'Imie Twoie moia iedyna molitva' I know it isn't written in good way, but it sounds like that. And in Polish the words have the same meaning. Greetings, beautiful song! :)

  • that's true, literally, it would look like this:

    Heaven knows, like I do,

Oh, how many times I have just said it,

    Heaven knows, just like me,

That your name is my only prayer

  • Ime tvoje moja jedina molitvaaaaaa! : )

  • The song in English is Destiny, it has the same basic meaning. From the video I think its about a loved one dying...

  • best winner of the last 10 years

  • nope, this is song of love between man and woman...I will recomend you to stop reading retarded tabloids and watch reality...trust me, she have a boyfriend but retarded idiots in tabloids write "she is gay" coz they are jelaous and they hate her

  • It's not about love between 2 women! It's just about love!

  • Yes, I also think this it is about love between two women. She sings "I can't lie to God a I kneel down and pray, You're the love of my life"

Now, if she was singing about a man, why would she think she'd have to lie to God? But if we take all the fuss into consideration, many religious people make about homosexuality, this line makes a lot more sense.

    But that's just my opinion.

  • She can't lie that she puts whoever it is above God. That's how I interpret it. :P

  • The BackGround Girls

    Are Unbelievable Sexy!

  • goosebumps

  • I guess you're not into cultural diversity...

I find a beautiful song, this coming from a strongly musical person who prefers music without vocals..

She sings in her own language, a symbol of her culture and country - it gives others the chance to "feel" their culture. Racists biggots would be the only people who would demand singing in their language. Regardless of that, the lyrics are rather articulate.

Competitions are useful, idiot - competing in music makes people strive harder!

  • Obviously you're a 'tard ....

  • Afcourse everyone has another taste in songs ...

    End conversation , dude

  • yo fuck you man

  • yo fuck you man

  • Dude , fuck yourself and do normal

O yeah everyone please ignore the comments i wrote , it isnt that bad , i think

  • Please don't shit! Song is awesome, and only stupid people will never understand it! Just pay attention on lyrics and her performance and you will notice a point of whole song!

  • I already said sorry

    So stop doing like that

  • and molitva means prayer

  • not destiny?

  • no, they could write good lyrics in english with prayer

the english version has completely different lyrics

  • no....i know that the song in english says destiny,, but the real meaning of molitva is prayer

  • ok, once and for all,

prayer means molitva and molitva is the serbian version of the song (and u have almost literally treanslation into english in this video).

destiny means sudbina and its the english version of the song, and the words are waaay different then molitva, just comapre the words from this video and the destiny ones, and u'll se! :)

    cheers

  • wow wow wow.such a strong song,such a powerfull voice,Wonderful.simply magnificent.

  • For some reason this song keeps getting stuck in my head.

    I love it.

Best song in my opinion that won
