Just for everyone's 411....The effect you hear on her voice is not 'autotune.' It's actually reverb, which can be used to give a recording a more ethereal sound, which is usually what Emmy Rossum goes for (that's her style). Just thought I'd clear things up. =)

It's because contemporary record producers often arbitrarily raise the tonal octave of female signers. It seems latently sexist to me.
