I think that you will find that you will get better leverage on the initial kimura if you make your first initial grab on his wrist, on his actual wrist joint. (That being; your pinky and ring finger on the pad of muscle below his pinky.) Also, using a "C" grip on his wrist helps immensely as well. Kimura is my long time bread-and-butter, and I used to do it like in this vid, but when I started doing these things, I became so much more efficient.
The last step of the process, once you step over (2:47), looks quite interesting. Is there anything you can pull off with the legs, in case the kimura is unsuccessful, or just for the versatility of it ?
