Real science needs to be done. Science without politics and money involved. Transparent, properly funded and equipped, and no agendas. THEN we can make an educated decision about what to do.
That should take a year or two to do properly. In the mean time we should clean up our act and stop spewing pollution and continue to recycle and become more efficient. Efficiency is always good, pollution is always bad, no matter the outcome of the science on climate change.
Global warming was created to slow down the world from running out of fossil fuel and the wars that will take place when no more oil is available to run our world. In fact, the global economy is purposely being melted down. Its' called demand destruction. Google the phrase, "demand destruction" and you'll see what I mean. You may want to watch Michael Ruppert's documentary "Denial Stops Here". It explains the whole thing.
We are living in one hell of a messy world right now. First things first, we all need to prepare our families, educate our friends, and when the proverbial shit hits the fan, perhaps we'll have a chance to crawl out of the bunker. Thanks for what you're doing to spur the thought process.
If the United States and other countries like China and Russia were so concerned about global warming, do you think they'd be messing with new technology developed under the auspices of HAARP? They are heating the ionosphere to super hot temperatures. they have no idea what the consequences are for conducting this type of research. They have no idea what could happen if the ionosphere is punctured.
I feel what is happening to the earth . .has happened previously. Too far back for people even to prove....it has always been my instinct that this is the case. What will be will be.
Precisely. I think people are afraid of not having an opinion about EVERY subject, so they take sides even when they're completely ignorant to the evidence. That's what I meant before about social proof. Opinions are only valid in proportion to the person's knowledge of each subject being discussed. If a person doesn't know any facts about the subject being discussed, they should stay out of it until they do.
I find it funny when people start saying oh you only heard one of the story to me when I go on about climatology and why global warming due to the very small amount of c02 is just bullocks. The funny thing is throughout my highschool years, I was all about man made global warming, I did quite a few projects on global warming in high school, it wasn't until I heard the other side of the debate(honestly I didn't know there was one, well not a scientificly established one), I think....
One last comment: Even after the day comes when the truth is undeniable, still there will be people who rush to deny it. This brazen stupidity can only be achieved with an obscene amount ignorance and insulation-- or fear & self-deception, which is perfectly human. Tirade concluded.
So yes, Greg, people should look at all sides of any debate. People should always try hard to keep an open mind, but not one so open that their brain falls out.
@BackBurnerNews You mean like enron making a killing off of carbon credits? Enron was the first company to make a market for the carbon business. I think even if I believed in MMGW theory still, I would still think this is mighty fishy, it mostly seems like politicians and corporations are going to be making the most money from this.
I am tending towards believing in AGW these days because I see so much influence of the oil industry, and no enough evidence of HAARP being anything real, but even though I also don't know either way about Al Gore, I certainly believe your last comment about cap and trade; there's an excellent article/ interview (despite all the typos) if you google 'The Nation EnvironNation What is Cap and Trade? Eshelman' that concisely explains why it does not work at all.
@julianchosun BTW with regard to that Al Gore guy, there is an excellent interview with Charlie Rose free to view at Rose's website from November 4th. Rose asks him all the questions. He gives answers.
Consider most people fly in planes not because they've done extensive research on the physics of aerodynamics & lift, they do it because folks have been flying in planes for years with mostly good results. It's called social proof, the most powerful motivator in history. My point is, people aren't going to do the research. They're going to defer to social proof, agree with their friends and kin & whatever authority (gov't, clergy, scientst) they trust, until the day that the truth is undeniable.
One way or another, we're going to see the truth of the matter within our lifetime. I've lived long enough to realize there are people who stick their fingers in their ears and sing lalalala when they hear something they don't like, instead of taking action. Denial is a powerful thing.
Climate change is most likely caused by something made by modern man. The reason this is said is because for the last 300000 years we have seen the temperatures reflect the output of the sun. The sun outputs more the temp goes up less and the temps go down. Except in the last 50 years or so where the output of the sun has gone down or stayed the same and the global temperatures have gone up. There is something else affecting temperatures and about the only thing to change is caused by man.
Wow are you wrong with your facts. Have you spent more than 3 minutes researching what you've just said? Have you done anything beside listen to Al Gore? Ice core sample data? Anything?
What facts did I get wrong? Temps don't follow the output of the sun? or that the sun by almost all metrics has been producing the same with slight variations output. Or the fact that the global temperatures are rising?
I think the main point is that just because we have had ice ages and temp fluctuations in the past does not harm anthropomorphic climate change hypothesis.
The data has been tampered with...Research ClimateGate
And no they havent taken into account the output of the sun.....and the fact that mars is warming up too, oh and venus...hmmm Jupiter saturn and uranus are wamer... well pluto's not a planet so I dont have to say it's warmer there too. Oh shit Mercury hyea....warmer... Damn Suv's are ruining the solar system.
I have looked at both sides of climategate. Simply put you are the one who has no idea about climategate or what was meant by "hide the decline." Tree rings as a method of predicting how warm the planet is is widely known to not work after 1960. So they added the actual... that is the temperature it is known to be to the data. If anything the hiding of the decline makes their data more reliable.
Also if you plan to say the sun is making all planets warmer why is it that the sun's output has either remained the same or has been decreasing since we began directly observing it in 1978. A sun that does not output more would not warm more.
Al Gore presents very little about the real science behind global warming. He uses half truths because most of the public wouldn't understand the real science. But Durkin makes facts up yo the point that Friss-Christensen said that he misused his study.
Come back scroll down till you find this person...(Shameonfed) I was going to send you and another a comment, but this person covered it... No need repeating ourselves...
UMMMMMMMM.. Not exactly...TPTB don't all exist in our Gov't or other Gov'ts,but they are there..It's late, good night..Think what you will... The evidence is there, GO LOOK for YOURSELF.. You have the tool, use it.
@nospacesallowed have you not heard HAARP? It focuses millions of watts of electricity straight into space which hits our ionosphere and heats it up, acting as a magnifying glass, there was also experiments done in cloud chambers where you could move clouds with electricity.
@Krawnikal And to backburner, the great global warming swindle is not that great of a film, the person who made the film used incomplete data graphs and filled them out so it could fit with what he wanted to present, he was busted doing it too, very hurtful to NGW movement.
I think if on one side you have Al Gores film which is set up to "FIT WITH WHAT HE WANTED TO PRESENT" I should show something on the other side that is biased to "FIT WITH WHAT THAT SIDE WANTED TO SAY" The exercise of looking at both of these extremes is to say it is very easy to make a propagandized type film in either direction of an argument. My point was to say to do your own research and don't let anyone sway you.
I know, I was just merely pointing out the fact the solar data they present in that film is inaccurate for the past 20 years, and I think it is horrible someone would do that, make a film bashing global warming for being fraudulent, yet being fraudulent in his own film? All I'm saying is that this paticular film, whilst bringing up some very key points, is pretty much blackballed by global warmists because of that paticular fact, even thought Al Gore was more wrong in his film.
Wait, i thought that it wasn't the CO2 that's the problem, but Hydrofluorocarbons and other chemicals that (not we the consumer) but the producers (chemical plants, factories, refineries, etc.) are pumping into the atmosphere 24/7 with impunity. And it's not global warming that's the issue, but global CLIMATE CHANGE: irregular weather patterns, droughts, increased number of hurricanes, etc. - that's the issue here isn't it?
Good video dude. Though just to let you know the claim that volcanoes emit more CO2 than humans has been debunked, do a quick google search on it. I don't believe in the climate change nonsense, but that claim is, in fact, a false one.
Why not use your position of privilege and power within our global village to at least help others less fortunate than yourself? It could actually be fun, too. Look into solar power panels. They're really interesting! Maybe you could save heaps of money. Is there a local community bike workshop? If not, set one up! They're extremely cool. Great way to meet people, and build a community. Is there a local community garden? Build a community green house! Lotsa great ideas on 'Peak Moments' channel.
Where I live in Brooklyn they seem to charge you for electricity even if your not using any. The gas bill is also crazy and they just raised my rent. A friend of mine was killed in NYC on a bike. Don't think there safe in the city. A garden would be interesting but if TSHTF I'm gettin' out of Bkln fast. Lots of problems.
Nope, you're right, you're a realist. Things are tough, and bikes are dangerous. I'm real sorry to hear about your friend in NYC. Here in Gwangju, S.Korea, a famous maths professor and daily cyclist was killed while cycling home earlier this year. Cars are even more impersonal here than back in my first home, and all sense of politeness (even including respect for hierarchy) gets flung out the window. My point is community is increasingly rare and precious; lack of it is dangerous in many ways.
How do you become a Climatologist? Is it related to a Cosomatologist or a Cosmologist? I am thinking of a career change as I am tired of being a nurse. Once again - you have a great mind and make great videos.
Google "The Mystery of Global Warming's Missing Heat : NPR" and see how NASA, with 3000 devices in the ocean says the ocean temp has not changed (actually it got a bit cooler).
Then watch Dr Carter explain "Climate Change" v=FOLkze-9GcI It will open your eyes! How we measure land temps is seriously compromised.
I have linked to my second stab at a video... the Audio is really poor and all in all it is not that good a video... but I have been struggling to get my flip to use a format that youtube accepts...
Its such an annoying subject in the first place, I mean did the world go into the last Ice Age due to not burning enough fossil fuels?and did the world come out of the last Ice Age due to prehistoric man burning fossil fuels?of course not,so why is it so hard for these'anthropomorphic global warming'pushers to consider the fairly obvious conclusion that there may be much bigger forces driving the global climate throughout time, like,i dunno, the gigantic burning star we call THE SUN for instance?
Theres no such thing as global warming. Its "climate change". That way they can tax you either way. If they really wanna do something progressive how about cleaning up the trash that litters the roads and waterways. How about cleaning up the trash island floating in the Pacific? Obviously the trash is man made but the fat cats cant get fatter picking up trash.
I use to think global heating was man made but couple years back read that solar sunspots have dramatic affect on global climate (more sunspots, more infra-red reaches earth). When sunspot activity quietens down (as it has last few years) our climate cools. I do think we should have clean air policy but pushing carbon tax instead of banning polluters is just another tax that does stuff all except make the elite richer.
Al Gore now embarrassed by his own hiccups and the email scandal will disappear. Look for him to re-emerge in a year with a massive Grizzly Adams beard and tout the next taxation scheme. I can't wait for him to reinvent himself.
Ahh... Interesting idea. If Al Gore is anything it is consistent. He has been campaigning about climate change for decades, just like he was one of the first in the US government to campaign about getting the internet established. It was other people who said he'd invented it, and they were using hyberbole (obvious exaggeration to make a point) and now he's still being criticized for that, and for being rich (having a large house or two) and for having an idea helping out nations, not people.
Wrong. Gore is quoted to have said that he invented the internet--that much is not hyperbole. He has also flubbed many purported facts about global warming. He climbed on his high horse recently to declare that he'd debate ANYONE about climate change. When the email scandal erupted, he shriveled awkwardly from that boast.
climate change how about monetary manipulation. Global community equals you and I making the same shit wages as the global minority. Think about it..there will be no global community untill we all make the same crap wages! Yeah global warming hoe about global cooling.. If we were around during our last ice age would there be a call to action to produce more CO2..? Madness that's all there is to it..
Folks don't generally have the time or interest to question the media and simply go with the flow. Given the time, I found out that no, global warming caused by man is far from certain, and likely not the cause. For those still concerned, fortunately the U.S. and some of the western world will experience a severe economic depression that will cut co2 output drastically. Buy your motorcycle today and beat the rush.
I'm glad that you have the guts to confront this issue.
There is no debate within the policy makers and leadership (tongue in cheek). Yes, THEY, have moved on to step three and beyond; because THEY are interested in self-preservation; not necessarily of mine and yours', but of theirs.
The Global elite have been funding all the studies..You probably don't remember all the studies the tobacco industry funded in the 1930's..smoking was "safe". The cancer wards of the 60's woke a few peeps up. Same game with the climate scam. All those e mails spoke volumes. George Carlin did a good standup on the Enviro movement...It's somewhere here on YT.
I don't agree he's gotten rich off of the carbon credit thing! He was rich already. He doesn't need to be any richer! He could easily sit back and just live off the interest of whatever he has sitting in his bank. He could easily be a quiet, mindingmyownbusiness politician. Instead, he's doing what he can. So, if this whole cap and trade thing IS passed into some international law, please wait to see what he does with the money before screaming yourselves to death about being jealous of him, ok?
Money is nothing! They end is not about how much money Al Gore has it's about how much you don't! It's about taking your wealth and making you pay a pitence to this all mighty force that will cause great earth quakes and tidal waves if you don't.
You are right Al Gore doesn't need the money. None of these crooks do. They want to control you!
Which reef did you check in June? According to Wikipedia's entry on the Great Barrier Reef, 'mass coral bleaching' (death) has occurred due to rising sea temperatures over three years in the last decade, and is likely to become an annual event. And, why exactly is Al Gore evil? He may not have invented the internet, but if you're in the USA and using the internet today, he was largely responsible for promoting the setting up of the infrastructure that allows you to do so.
in a law suit brought against al gore (an inconvenient truth) ; 9 assertions made in the movie were proven not to be ascribed to global warming, including the one you made here. look it up.
CO2 from volcanoes? I heard this factoid a few years ago and could find no evidence that volcanoes produce any significant CO2 (except when the vent goes thru limestone for instance=rare). The other non man made sources, have been around for ages and are therefore part of the natural ecosystem. What has definitely happened is a doubling of the CO2 in the air due to burning: coal, nat gas, oil, totally on the order of .5 trillion tons over the last 150 years. CO2 is a green house- but change T???
I dont get it. I dont believe in the whole man made climate change deal. BUT that is FAR from me saying that I dont feel we need to gain more control over our resources and find a better energy source. We need to get over this whole deal of greed if we wish to move forward. Until that happens I fear we are stuck on this dead end road.
Great point! I guess that was way to vague. I did mean that as government / corporate greed. Thats more or less the hold out on new energy. Once a new system is unveiled to the public they know they stand to lose BIG TIME. With that they will never allow it to happen untill they can figure out how to make enough to cover their loss's.
The US, Russia and China all have projects underway to modify the weather and other purposes. The US project is under the guise of a program called HAARP. This project utilizes low frequency waves to supercharge the ionosphere, sort of like a microwave does, with regular household current, to heat food to super temps in a short time. In fact the process heats the ionosphere, which then changes the currents and air flow and the weather as a result. I urge people to research this topic.
Stage 3: "In search for a NEW ENEMY to UNITE us,we CAME up with the idea that POLLUTION,the threat of GLOBAL WARMING,WATER SHORTAGES,FAMINE and the like FIT THE BILL.......ALL these DANGERS are caused by HUMAN INTERVENTION...The REAL DANGER then is HUMANITY Itself" Alexander King & Bertrand Schneider THE FIRST GLOBAL REVOLUTION(New York Pantheon Books,1991 115.CLUB OF ROME. Fight the NWO people!
Good stuff. I've not completely made up my mind on the issue, but I'm very suspicious of the Global Warming is caused by man crowd. It looks more like Global Warming is and has been used to put statist policies in place so that governments can control humanity. It doesn't look like such policies provide a solution. Look up Bjorn Lomborg. He has a proposed solution to focus on technology, which will be cheaper and have the added effect of reducing carbon emissions faster. Check Him Out!!!
"... On January 6, 2003 the [Danish Committees on Scientific Dishonesty (DCSD)] a body under Denmark's Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation cited The Skeptical Environmentalist for: 1. Fabrication of data; 2. Selective discarding of unwanted results (selective citation); 3. Deliberately misleading use of statistical methods; 4. Distorted interpretation of conclusions; 5. Plagiarism; 6. Deliberate misinterpretation of others' results.
Yes, he's very unpopular, and I imagine all kinds of things have been said about him. However, I'm not speaking of the Skeptical Environmentalist. These same charges have been made about scientists all over the environmental movement. We need something other than genetic fallacies and ad hominems. It's not goign to hurt anyone, including you, to simply read his proposal. Also, Wiki is not a trusted source material in my book. Though I do read from Wiki.
@veritasfiles Fair enough. Also, while I have no idea about his science nor the obvious ruckus he's managed to cause (as a non-scientist) among the scientific community within Denmark and Europe, I guess he does offer a fair basic point: whatever the time scale we're looking at, what would be the best investment? All the anti-Al Gore vibes stink of oil-sponsored rhetoric, but the capNtrade idea is just one. What about tax incentives for solar panels, & internat. sharing of such technologies etc?
Well, thanks for hearing me out. I'm not so much concerned with whether you support Bjorn Lomborg personally, but I think his basic idea has considerable merit. I don't have a problem with tax incentives to move technology transfer, acquisition, and widespread usage a little faster. But I do have a problem with the prohibitively expensive and liberty-destroying route that Al Gore and others would take us with Carbon taxes, carbon footprints, etc... Let's work with the system not against it.
I agree: 'with the system'.. generally, as long as the system is for the people. The thing is, I for one don't fully understand the cap and trade plan. I do wonder if the reason the developed nations' governmental reps have been so slow at Copenhagen is 'cos they know the bigger worry is peak oil, and so carbon taxes are going to have to be levied in some way just in order to help distribute the last dregs of the black juice, and to pay for development and distribution of any alternatives.
the debate does matter, then again, it's a distraction from the power play the gov's are making based on one side of the "debate". for now, stopping the irrevocable global treaties unless or until we KNOW, what, why, and WHO profits.
i do not trust 1)anything that cannot be
questioned. ("the debate is over") proves it's not
true science. or,2) the motives of world governments. it's as simple as, IF hunger was
Great commentary Greg. I think you're spot on with the questions you're asking. I think it's best to keep the ideology and rhetoric at the back of our minds and focus on the real issues of what's next. Who is going to gain and how/why? I highly recommend that folks check out the channel debtruth1. She is doing some really hard core research and finding the answers to these questions.
there is quite a drop of @ 1940. not much later the GIs came back and all got cars that ran on leaded gas and had no catalytic converters. clearly, we need to cut down all trees, kill all organisms, and go back to running leaded gas with no cat. converter b/c I think the lead really helps to keep the cold in. anyway it isn't about warming, that's just the pop culture thing they floated out there, this is about taxes. if the us gov't can't raise taxes they can't keep pissing away our future.
killing ourselves wouldnt work anyway...decomposition of our bodies would create more CO2, lol!
thanx for the vid. yes, people need to look at both sides, if you only look at one side, you can never discuss or debate, you wont know what your are going to be debating against...
Eliminate your debt. Take your $ off the table. Stop buying stuff that you don't need. Live well on very little. Grow your own food. Participate in alternative and/or outlawed food economies for what you don't produce yourself. Barter, or use cash. Support people who do good work. Finally, draw a line in the sand. Don't tell anyone where that line is, or what the consequences will be if it's crossed. Don't wave a sign about it. Let the fascists figure it out the hard way:)
I don't know why you received a "thumbs down" on your comment. I have watched your videos, as I am a subscriber, and DO wish to view both sides of the debate.
I am as serious as Al Gore. The ocean floor has not been cleaned since the beginning of time, Dying seaweed.

About 85 million barrels of Oil burnt every single day, day in day out into a global atmosphere proportionally thinner than the skin of an apple.
25% burnt in USA by 4% of this Planets population.
No wonder these greedy selfish corporate controlled burners are swept along in the warm comforting polluted river of Humanity known as De Nile.

There is something else affecting temperatures and about the only thing to change is caused by man.
nospacesallowed 2 years ago
Wow are you wrong with your facts. Have you spent more than 3 minutes researching what you've just said? Have you done anything beside listen to Al Gore? Ice core sample data? Anything?
You're silly.
Eraser7622 2 years ago
What facts did I get wrong? Temps don't follow the output of the sun? or that the sun by almost all metrics has been producing the same with slight variations output. Or the fact that the global temperatures are rising?
I think the main point is that just because we have had ice ages and temp fluctuations in the past does not harm anthropomorphic climate change hypothesis.
nospacesallowed 2 years ago
@nospacesallowed
Can101276 2 years ago
I have looked at both sides of climategate. Simply put you are the one who has no idea about climategate or what was meant by "hide the decline." Tree rings as a method of predicting how warm the planet is is widely known to not work after 1960. So they added the actual... that is the temperature it is known to be to the data. If anything the hiding of the decline makes their data more reliable.
to be continued.
nospacesallowed 2 years ago
Also if you plan to say the sun is making all planets warmer why is it that the sun's output has either remained the same or has been decreasing since we began directly observing it in 1978. A sun that does not output more would not warm more.
Al Gore presents very little about the real science behind global warming. He uses half truths because most of the public wouldn't understand the real science. But Durkin makes facts up yo the point that Friss-Christensen said that he misused his study.

Krawnikal 2 years ago
@Krawnikal
BackBurnerNews 2 years ago
@BackBurnerNews

Nope, you're right, you're a realist. Things are tough, and bikes are dangerous. I'm real sorry to hear about your friend in NYC. Cars are even more impersonal here than back in my first home, and all sense of politeness (even including respect for hierarchy) gets flung out the window. My point is community is increasingly rare and precious; lack of it is dangerous in many ways.

Theres no such thing as global warming. Its "climate change". That way they can tax you either way. Obviously the trash is man made but the fat cats cant get fatter picking up trash.
CaptainTripsz 2 years ago
I use to think global heating was man made but couple years back read that solar sunspots have dramatic affect on global climate (more sunspots, more infra-red reaches earth). When sunspot activity quietens down (as it has last few years) our climate cools. I do think we should have clean air policy but pushing carbon tax instead of banning polluters is just another tax that does stuff all except make the elite richer.

dabruin2 2 years ago
Ahh... Interesting idea. If Al Gore is anything it is consistent. He has been campaigning about climate change for decades, just like he was one of the first in the US government to campaign about getting the internet established. It was other people who said he'd invented it, and they were using hyberbole (obvious exaggeration to make a point) and now he's still being criticized for that, and for being rich (having a large house or two) and for having an idea helping out nations, not people.
julianchosun 2 years ago
Wrong. Gore is quoted to have said that he invented the internet--that much is not hyperbole. He has also flubbed many purported facts about global warming. He climbed on his high horse recently to declare that he'd debate ANYONE about climate change. When the email scandal erupted, he shriveled awkwardly from that boast.
dabruin2 2 years ago
climate change how about monetary manipulation. Global community equals you and I making the same shit wages as the global minority. Think about it..there will be no global community untill we all make the same crap wages! Yeah global warming hoe about global cooling..

CO2 is a green house- but change T???

jokertim777 2 years ago
Great point! I guess that was way to vague. I did mean that as government / corporate greed. Thats more or less the hold out on new energy. Once a new system is unveiled to the public they know they stand to lose BIG TIME. With that they will never allow it to happen untill they can figure out how to make enough to cover their loss's.
RESET1776 2 years ago
The US, Russia and China all have projects underway to modify the weather and other purposes. The US project is under the guise of a program called HAARP. This project utilizes low frequency waves to supercharge the ionosphere, sort of like a microwave does, with regular household current, to heat food to super temps in a short time. In fact the process heats the ionosphere, which then changes the currents and air flow and the weather as a result. I urge people to research this topic.

Check Him Out!!!
veritasfiles 2 years ago 2
Lomborg?! OMG, go to Wiki:
Deliberate misinterpretation of others' results.
julianchosun 2 years ago
Yes, he's very unpopular, and I imagine all kinds of things have been said about him. However, I'm not speaking of the Skeptical Environmentalist. These same charges have been made about scientists all over the environmental movement. We need something other than genetic fallacies and ad hominems. It's not goign to hurt anyone, including you, to simply read his proposal. Also, Wiki is not a trusted source material in my book. Though I do read from Wiki.
veritasfiles 2 years ago
@veritasfiles Fair enough. Also, while I have no idea about his science nor the obvious ruckus he's managed to cause (as a non-scientist) among the scientific community within Denmark and Europe, I guess he does offer a fair basic point: whatever the time scale we're looking at, what would be the best investment? All the anti-Al Gore vibes stink of oil-sponsored rhetoric, but the capNtrade idea is just one. What about tax incentives for solar panels, & internat. sharing of such technologies etc?
julianchosun 2 years ago
Well, thanks for hearing me out. I'm not so much concerned with whether you support Bjorn Lomborg personally, but I think his basic idea has considerable merit. I don't have a problem with tax incentives to move technology transfer, acquisition, and widespread usage a little faster. But I do have a problem with the prohibitively expensive and liberty-destroying route that Al Gore and others would take us with Carbon taxes, carbon footprints, etc... Let's work with the system not against it.
veritasfiles 2 years ago
I agree: 'with the system'.. generally, as long as the system is for the people. The thing is, I for one don't fully understand the cap and trade plan. I do wonder if the reason the developed nations' governmental reps have been so slow at Copenhagen is 'cos they know the bigger worry is peak oil, and so carbon taxes are going to have to be levied in some way just in order to help distribute the last dregs of the black juice, and to pay for development and distribution of any alternatives.
