O.K., a few things wrong with that statement. First of all, Roland is an American company not Japanese. Second of all, some of the most popular drummers in the world, including the best paid session drummers use these kits for their versatility and adaptability. Even people that don't a lot of them use triggers which essentially turns a "normal" kit into an electric using the vibrations. In future please keep anything that's not constructive or pleasant to yourself.

For all you people who say roland drums are shit or that they sound shite, look into it more. if you really want, you can midi the sound of your own kit then install them onto the brain of the kit. I'd place a bet on that most of the people who slag the v-drums off have probably never had the chance to play them, nor have they looked into their full potential. people that say this guy isn't a fantastic drummer are complete idiots - it's much easier to play an acoustic kit than an electronic one, especially when you consider he's triggering loops on top of playing a shit-hot solo

electronic sets are much easier to play for several reasons: 1) the rims are not as high above the drums, so the sticks to smack the rims as much. 2) unlike an actual drumset, the pads always have good bounce and sharp pickup, whereas some drum heads have to be loosened (such as a 24" stick bass), making the technical stuff you play practically unaudible. On an electronic, you can have a little pad sounding like a 24 inch bass and it would pick up 6-17 stroke rolls much better.

you can have real cymbals, snare and bassdrum, but for toms toms, i guess it's ok to have electric. You pound on the cymbals,snare, and bass all the time, and it's your main sound. To have a whole electric set for LIVE , i would not recommend.

True, but you don't get the true feel of an acoustic along with the sustain that the wood gives. The wood has its own slight, brief tone differences that make them unique. The elecs. also have too much rebound for me. Must be preference. All drummers have their own preference.
