Dude dont get all mad that you cant rock like he can. And alot of ppl love to play on these kits cuz of the stuff they can do. I would have one if I could.
O.K., a few things wrong with that statement. First of all, Roland is an American company not Japanese. Second of all, some of the most popular drummers in the world, including the best paid session drummers use these kits for their versatility and adaptability. Even people that don't a lot of them use triggers which essentially turns a "normal" kit into an electric using the vibrations. In future please keep anything that's not constructive or pleasant to yourself.
If you look at my other videos, you'll see I much prefer to play real drums so rockband isn't one of my favoured pastimes. There's no need to get aggressive just because you've been proven wrong.
I'd just like to make a clarification. For all you people who say roland drums are shit or that they sound shite, look into it more. if you really want, you can midi the sound of your own kit then install them onto the brain of the kit. I'd place a bet on that most of the people who slag the v-drums off have probably never had the chance to play them, nor have they looked into their full potential. If you'd like any further information on the drums, just message me and I'l answer any questions.
Electric kits a cramped? Spacew them out a bit then! If you want to play rock, use an acoustic kit. If you want to play rave, use an elctric kit through a bass distortion pedal with maybe a few real cymbals mixed in! :D
Its sick how its so easy to do rolls on those electronic roland heads. Even though its nice to have a way to play drums quieter they come nowhere close to being as cool as a real nice drum kit.
i used to hate electric sets but i got one when i figured out there was a thing called a LIMITED AMOUNT OF SPACE so i got one and there actually not as bad as they say. now my dad is getting one also. rolands are awesome though. and ppl who say that you have to be rich to buy one, screw you. my parents arnt rich and i got one.
It's not sposed to be a 'solo' it's a demonstration of a roland kit, and it made me buy one so he can't be that bad. Why do all comments end in a big row anyway? lets just agree he looked completely retarded when he shouted 'I'm not finished yet' at the crowd.
Personally i like electronic kits but deffinently only for practice always need an acoustic for an actual show but i really liked the run around the stool thing really funny lol
Regardless of playing on an electronic kit, I think this guy has some seriously cool ideas. I really love the idea of incorporating electronics into drum and bass style music. I really dig his style.
people that say this guy isn't a fantastic drummer are complete idiots - it's much easier to play an acoustic kit than an electronic one, especially when you consider he's triggering loops on top of playing a shit-hot solo
electronic sets are much easier to play for several reasons: 1) the rims are not as high above the drums, so the sticks to smack the rims as much. 2) unlike an actual drumset, the pads always have good bounce and sharp pickup, whereas some drum heads have to be loosened (such as a 24" stick bass), making the technical stuff you play practically unaudible. On an electronic, you can have a little pad sounding like a 24 inch bass and it would pick up 6-17 stroke rolls much better.
If that is you then my god you are amazing and there is one bit on that vid what just can't stop whaching is that bit where you stop and the cybal "hay yea" and then a flan, that is the most amzing bit i think!!
I found it a lot harder to roll on the mesh pads actually. On my acoustic there's just so much more bounce. this solo is pretty good, not awesome but pretty good.
yeah.. that's awesome but i play electric kits and accoustic and its a lot easier to sound like a better player on an electric than accoustic in some ways
you can have real cymbals, snare and bassdrum, but for toms toms, i guess it's ok to have electric. You pound on the cymbals, snare, and bass all the time, and it's your main sound. To have a whole electric set for LIVE , i would not recommend.
True, but you don't get the true feel of an acoustic along with the sustain that the wood gives. The wood has its own slight, brief tone differences that make them unique. The elecs. also have too much rebound for me. Must be preference. All drummers have their own preference.
They don't count? Says who? I think electric kits are easily the way of the future. His pre-sets sound kind of lame... but have you ever heard a customized kit? They are amazing. They don't count. You must have some kind of mental defect.

beastydrummer06, you should try the drums before you talk about them as if you know shit. They have tons of sensitivity. And they have shallow rimshots, rim sounds and whatever. The drums you're talking about are like 25 years old.. a lot has happened since then :)
Hey that's Michael Schack, imho he's an excellent drummer, he sold me my electronic drumkit... he is a little weird but that's just something you must get used to ^^...he has a much better video when he's playing on a TD20 i think..
the only thing bad about roland is u cant play quiet if u need to like if u need to play kinda light on the snare u have the same oise level as what u would hear when u beat the crap out of the drum
im glad i dont require roland drums. the alesis dmpro has a better sound than roland when i trigger my yamaha recording series up. stick to making keyboards roland. oh and how much did you pay the crowd to cheer at the end?
just like an electric guitar,.. acoustic guitar, accoustic drums,.. elec guitar elec drums
i know it sounds weird coz elec guitars are commonly used with acoustic drums,.. but its the same concept,.. with elec guitars u can get pedals and shit that change the sound completly
Electric sets are good, but you would be better off paying out your ass for a good one ,otherwise it isn't worth it. The set this bloke is using is obviously pretty good.
