Tu sabes lo dificil que es impresionar a 2000 o 3000 personas entendidas en un escenario como el Met o la Scala de la forma en que lo hace Domingo aqui. Pero tu sigue 'cacareando' como un pappagallo las mismas tonterias.
Never get bored of Domingo singing Mario. He has done it hundreds of times, and I still love his interpretation. His Mario is admirable kind of Mario, someone Tosca would love so much. And this aria always makes me shiver..
I'm trying to imagine who could dislike this. This is absolutely beautiful, so emotional, everything a singing should be about. There's no excuse for not liking this, let alone, disliking it!
Ahh, this is the aria and telecast that made me get into opera. I remember being so awed by Domingo here that I almost fell off my sofa! Still the best E Lucevan I've ever heard.

Seguro que técnicamene se podrán hacer más florituras con la voz, pero delante tenemos a Mario Cavaradossi reviviendo lo mejor de su vida, cuando sabe que se le acaba.
Es una canción para cantarla con corazón, y expresar las emociones de quien se sabe perdido.
Saber transmitir eso es un don y en esta interpretación Placido lo consigue.

Domingo come Cavaradossi è sempre una garanzia. Ma qui mi sembra un po' affaticato. Il fiato in particolare a volte non lo sostiene del tutto. Comunque anche così il risultato finale è superiore a quello di gran parte dei tenori. Anche la direzione (Sinopoli, se ben ricordo) è discutibile, e a volte davvero "sadica"

Puccini ed il verismo hanno poco a che far con il belcanto come lo intendo io. Nel suo repertorio Domingo ha ben pochi rivali (tra i quei 30 tenori spero non ci siano Del Monaco o Di Stefano). Concordo che, tra i belcantisti nel senso stretto del termine, voci come Kraus oggi ce le sognamo (ma Vargas e Florez non sono certo da butar via) e che il "dominghismo" ha fatto danni (José Cura!), Ma, tolta immagine e commercializzazione, Domingo resta un...artista come pochi
es super facil poner voz de tenor, se me da super bien, lo que no me se es la letra xd lol, pero si no la canto como el pavaroti, me sale la misma voz pero con mucha mas fuerza, que los tres tenores juntos , no se siempre he creido que serviria para tenor, pero no se a quien acudir para poder certificarlo, en fin si alguien sabe donde puedo ir pa que me hagan una prueba, o algo por el estilo lo agradeceria mucho, un saludo desde españa, barcelona

Thank you so much again for posting this. I knew if I dug and dug after watching Recondita Armonia on here from the same performance that I'd find this, lol. I saw this live when I was 7 years old and never forgot it. I have seen many many operas since then and never have I seen an ovation of almost a full minute after an aria that was in the middle of an opera especially one of the calibur of Tosca at The Met. Placido neve performed E Lucevan Le Stelle better than he did that night. Awesome!
This is awesome, but I think that Domingo is even better at The Three Tenors Concert 1990 - Rome... Check it out if you can :) Anyway great performance!
Saw that performance, but always felt this was him at his best. The acting added with the singing is better. This has the perfect pace to it while the concert was not really rushed but just robotic and rehearsed. This is awesome because he throws so much more emotion into it here.
