  • second from the left is the chris rock everybody hates chris the boy did not aged at all now know why everyone hates

    Dorian Grey or exceeds

  • rock n roll

  • man thanks i got the chills

  • man kids back then could sing like this kid and Michal jackson lol idk how to spell

  • Frankie wasn't singin' the type of soulful songs that Lewis recorded in 57',mostly pop stuff. It would've been interesting to hear Frankie sing some of the same songs that he sang with the Teenchords though, especially this one and "Falling in Love".

  • His voice wasn't as strong as frankys was at that age .

  • omg this my 1st time hearing this song but i have truly fallen in love with it because of his voice

  • oh be quiet! all a bunch of idiots here!

  • its so sad. lewis's career seemed to have been there to replace his brother.like the record companies didnt love frankie, only his sound.

  • like lewis can sing and he got talent but its not quit as natural as it is for frankie

  • i can tell there related but at the same time there different in away but i definately like frankies voice the best but lewis definately has talent as well but never like frankie

  • how old was he in this?

  • @TheOdessa5 I think he was like 12 or 13

  • frankie lil bro

  • That's why I HATE THE RECORD BUSINESS.

They pit lewis against Frankie in the same type music, (ROCK AND ROLL) instead of bringing them together. They would have been SUPERSTARS.

    THAT WAS FUCKED UP....

  • well he look better than his brother....

  • can you imagine had the brothers united and combined their groups and talent:

    it would have exploded

  • SIMPLY ADRORABLE!!! MMMUUUAAA!!!

  • They kind of remind me of The Jackson 5

  • I didnt even know he had a brother who sang... well solos

  • ahaha

  • @TheJCG91 yo datz racist as fuck

  • i know right

  • Now THIS is doo-wop at its New York City style the best! Love both Frankie and Lewis but have to agree that Lewis & Teenchords tended to have catchier songs. Saw Lewis in New York back in 1980 when he was about age 35 and he was GREAT. Wish this style of music was still popular. It's got more life and fun in it than any modern "rock" music!

  • @1957Hepcat Yeah Lewis and Teenchords had catchier songs but Frankie was the one with the better voice, in my opinion.

  • @Love4FrankieLymon, Both had INCREDIBLE VOICES.

Their sounds were just a little different. That's why they would have been an INCREDIBLE DUO.

The Record Business is FUCKED UP. Say what you want about Rappers, But they don't let NOBODY, AND I MEAN NOBODY, FUCK WITH THEIR MONEY OR STYLE.

  • @commonman80 Unless they sell out of course

  • @commonman80 Maybe I am just a little bias cause I fell in love with Frankie's voice first. Frankie's voice sounds much more beautiful than Lewis'.

Competition is the name of the game! There is nothing wrong with a little friendly sibling competition. It seems that Lewis admired and respected his brother's fame so I think he was okay coming in at a CLOSE second to his big brother's success.

  • @commonman80

lol that comment about rappers is silly. You don't think rappers generally all conform to a specific style, the stereotype of what a rapper should dress like, rap about, etc.? Maybe no individuals fuck with their style, but one can make the claim that society certainly does.

  • This kids amazing better than his brother Frankie in my opinion

  • frankie over louie

  • Lewis was a great singer, dancer and frontman just like his brother.

  • better than frankie and the teenagers

  • Dam I didnt know Frankies brother could get down like that

  • "JOCKO" Henderson!!!!! This man is the FATHER OF RAP!!!!!

  • i think i would be lying if i said it didn't sound like the guy in the begginng wasn't rappin!! lol

  • This is from the 1957 movie "Jamboree", featuring disc jockeys introducing R&R acts onstage (Charlie Gracie, Buddy Knox, Jimmy Bowen, etc.). This jock is of course the "Ace From Outer Space", the incomparable Mr. Douglas "Jocko" Henderson of NYC & Philly. Ooh Papa Doo, & how do you do. You're back on the block to rock with the Jock.

  • well he doesnt sound exactly bad. but not as good as frankie. maybe it cuz he sounds to much like kid....well he was a kid huh?

  • I like that DJ.

  • Pure delight! I wonder who's on sax. Sounds like a similar tone to the playing on Gary 'US' Bonds, ' Quarter to Three'

  • Yes, he's Frankie's younger brother.

  • Wow, he was so young but had so much maturity and professionalism. A great talent! Love this vid thank you!

  • Yes Lewis and Frankie were brothers!!!

  • je prefaire lewis il a su garder l esprit doo wop tandis que frankie sait l aisser emporter par une carriere solo et a renier son groupe avec des performances a la frank sinatra .cest mon avi

  • Lewis was great, but Frankie had the "star" stage performance

  • lewis was a great performer. They didnt rip off frankie, they just duplicated the style of the era. IMo overall, Lewis had better songs of the doo wop genre than frankie

  • i wonder what frankie thought of this. it's basically a clone of frankie and the teenagers.

  • At the time were a lot of band sounding similar to The Teenagers or The Teenchords. Many doo wop bands with a young soprano range boy.

The sad thing is nowadays music like this is not being made...

  • @DeeDee3331 umm lewie had the more raw sound not as polished as frankie

  • to me frankie and lewis kinda have the same vocals.. but lewis is a bit high pitched nd kidish

  • Love this song and the video's great! Thank you!

  • Love it. Takes me back.

  • Love this song....Great

  • je prefere frankie car il a une plus belle voix

  • Hey thanx for the info on this JOCKO. What's the scoop? I have never heard of him. What was with the getup? He must have obviously had some sort of weekly show that showcased musical groups....

  • UM Frankie lymon was so much better like for real

  • yes he was but the teenchords have much better songs than this one. like: Lydia, Dance Girl, Them There Eyes and more

  • It was Frankie's brother... oo.

    ok.. :P

  • He sounds younger than in Why do fools fall in love..

  • I met Lewis Lymon in Las Vegas. What A super nice guy. He autographed my album & an 8x10 photo. I Love this tune. The Dovells(Bristol Stomp)also made a great version of this as well. He also did a great version of the tune made popular by Billie Holiday called "Them There Eyes". It Rocks!

Thanks 4 posting. What a talent....

  • how old is he now?

  • Jocko Henderson, the DJ's DJ RIP

  • Comment removed

  • He was good, but he did not have the beautiful tone and vocal control that frankie did, frankie's voice was effortesly natural

  • Great video of the group, and fun to see Jocko when he was young.

  • how ironic that at the Point where Lewis Lymon's Career was peaking , Brother Frankie was having-Problems with HIS Career.

  • @thePharoah90086 do u know why he didnt help frankie out???

  • @california123100 ... from what I have heard / read , FRANKIE didn't have Much Contact with His Family , during the Mid-1960s ... if I knew how to get-in-touch with-Them , I would-like to interview the Surviving Members of the LYMON Family.

  • There were 2 other Lymon brothers, Howie and Timmy & of course Frankie and Lewis. All 4 Lymon kids could sing!

  • Great quality picture and sound on this video - great tune as well - top marks jiveafterfive.

  • bak den they could sing real good......he looks lik his brother`

  • oohbop my ass!

  • So that's where George Clinton got that little rap from. Oh Im ajock and I'm back on the scene with my record machine...lol

  • way up here in the stratosphere, you gotta holler mighty loud and clear....

  • That's Jocko Henderson in the space suit at the beginning!

  • frankie lymon and lewis lymon are the best singers I ever heard

  • If the powers that be had been on their toes and had they really been looking out for these boys they would have saw that together they would have made a great duo....The Lymon Brothers...or something like that plus there was another brother so they really could have got something going

  • they would have been successful but frankie had a heroin habit...

  • @amensupremera actually frankie had three brothers and they all used to sing together in the beginning before frankie joined the teenagers

  • @nuknuknuk111 Didn't know that. What a waste

  • @amensupremera yea i mean who knows? they could have been the jackson five of the 50's
