I wish I knew. It's not a mod. The first NS was a Half-Life mod (free). This is a stand-alone engine developed by Flayra. It's alot better then the HL1 or the HL2 engine in my opinion. Speaking of which...Valve really needs to come out with their next engine. HL2 is kind of dated, and I'm not entirely sure but isn't L4D2 on the same engine?

L4D2 is on an updated version of the Source engine. Basically, every game since HL2 that Valve has released has had an updated version of the Source engine for it

Well to be fair to Valve, coding an engine from scratch is really quite a hard job, and besides that, I'm sure they're trying to milk all the profit they can out of the work they did on Source. Although a lot of mods and stand alone games use Source, Valve themselves have only produced limited selection of games from it.Although yeah, I can't disagree with it being outdated, at least very soon.

As for NS's new engine, I consider it really quite amazing since it's one guy, plus it's really good

Aliens should have a bio/natural look to its armor not a manufactured-looking plate/bone armor.

Aside from the alien armor this is going to be a great game!

NS was my favorit game. I had it for 1.5 in the menu "Change mode" and played it on steam 2 but i havnt done that for like 3-4years. NS is the BEST game for thirdpartymode and its worth this sequel.

sadly I´m also standing behind the onos critics heh.. I loved the first game and played a lot, specially when it just released.. To me the aliens are supposed to be slimy and organic like.. This version of onos looks like it wears armor.. manufactured armor, not organic stuff like it was its shell. Thats where it went wrong imho.

For one its not a source engine port, the completely rebuilt the game with there own engine, and also changed some game play aspects.
