This is why a lot of martial artists loose to MMA or BJJ in organised matches. Totally different brain hemispheres at work.
MMA is not an art per se, it's a combo of different arts and the practitioner chooses which style he should use more. MMA fighters have training in traditional arts, they just season their knowledge with something else.

one thing this video taught me is josh koscheck is a fucking chump....and does not belong in the ring.....2 seperate times he fakes a huge injury to avoid a fight.....boo this man wherever he goes =)
I loved the description everyone should read it. I would also like to add that krav maga is a very serious martial art. It looks cheep in the ring but an instinctive reaction with a very well practiced, well timed powerful kick to the nuts can often disable an attacker completely. You saw those battle hardened, skilled, high pain tolerance, mma warriors, convulsing on the ground looking like there going to puke. Its worse if a testie gets smashed, plus that leaves them open to break some bones.
This just proves that MMA is not as effective as a martial art. IF an MMA fighter wants to be the best he must beat his oppenent on their terms, not his own.
Martial arts is designed to end the fight within the first 3 secs or a single strike
@TheRuppy81 MMA actually is a really good martial art, its just the ufc the fighters aren't trying to kill each other, so they need rules. And MMA fighters are taught not to stop just like you said Krav Maga fighters are taught not to. Thats why in MMA fights they don't just stop, they keep fighting until the ref tells them to stop, just watch any MMA KO. And if there wasn't a ref, MMA fighters would keep fighting until theres no threat just like the Krav Maga fighter
alot of people forget how effective a kick to the balls can be, thats why krav uses it so much because it fucking hurt like hell and its easy to kick another guys balls hard, i dont care how tough you are, if someone kicks you there hardest in your balls you are gonna feel it and then they can finish you off with a few punches
@wilb6657 Sorry, I messed up. Krav Maga was invented for life or death situations. If a dude is coming at you to KILL YOU, you don't care about "fighting like a pussy". You'll do ANYTHING to survive.
@travis6240 krav maga is all about survival, you do what you have to do to survive, in krav maga there is no such thing as dirty fighting, if being a dirty fighter means you walk away with your life then im a dirty fighter and you'll be the one dead on the floor because you are thick
@GaAjPwNz me the rag head? mate, your the one who respects the people who tortured us for years and still are to this day. your respecting the people who are responsible for the innocent murders of thousands. your respecting the people who stole our land and claim it as theirs. your respecting the people who see them selves as the kings of society. pathetic. voice your opinion, but dont say that your a proud lebanese and then defend the people who tortured us.
I don't like this video. Krav Maga is by far not only about kicking the groin and poking the eye. I think it's aggressive attitude, highly explosive movements, no fooling (or dancing) around way of fighting could bring a lot to the MMA world. Technique-wise there's not much of a difference anyway (except for the maneuvers that would be illegal in MMA of course), as all modern fighting systems (whether in military or sports) are based on the same principals of realistic and effective moves.
Those who think KM is nothing more than a nut shot need to do some research. That's like saying all Karate is, is breaking boards.. High level KM is VERY cool to watch and nothing short of brutal. It's not an elegant MA but keep in mind that it's specialised against real life situations and multiple attackers.
Funny video! I'm an advanced level Krav Maga practitioner and I would like to make something clear. Although groin kicks/hits are plentiful in KM, it's not like that is the whole technique. It's merely part of the defense. It's not like we kick you in the nuts and walk away. As part of a technique it's very effective as long as it is followed by a knee to the head, hammer punch to the back of the head, kick to the knee etc. etc.
This fucking stupid, you're showing people getting hit by things that aren't defending because they are illegal in the sport. If it was a fight they WOULD be defending this shit. Fucking retards.
This video sugguests that the only move in krav is to kick in the groin. When in reality, there are disabling, incredibly difficult techniques in krav. Incredibly bias. And every idiot who agrees needs to really learn about krav and realize that it is incredibly effective
the israeli army taught all of there soldiars krav maga as apart of there training before the war against lebanon in 2006. the 'war' lasted 1 day agfeter the army running for their lives after seeing the hezbollah waiting for them at there border
@ABG849 shut up you illiterate rag head. I'm lebanese and respect the isrealies alot. Krav maga is the number 1 self defense system in the world. period. So go practice ju-jitsu and judo so you can get fucked up by an isreali marine.
krav maga isnt even a martial art, its casically kicking there opponent in the nuts and thats it .its got no skill to it what so ever but to just aim for the nuts.
@ABG849 You apparently haven't ever seen a Krav Maga practicioner. Look for demonstrations, Krav Maga is a martial art and it's quite an effective one against armed opponents
Krav maga is good when your life is in danger . And if you know any other techniques you can improvise your own style . Don't stop learning only cause you master one style . A real fight isn't pretty and doesn't have to be flashy like in the movies .
anybody can poke eyes or kick groin only a km guy would think those are trained attacks the rest of the world see that its an act of a coward unless faced with multiple attackers or a huge opponant why stoop to that learn some real techniques in competition rules are there to protect the longjevity of fighters Krav Maga is great for saving your life against untrained and violent attackers but why would you put yourself in those situations in the first place
@biggunzcdb Because all the people who get shot in the middle east attempting to protest a dictatorial government chose to be born there. Have some respect for those people who die, are maimed, tortured, etc because they weren't able to protect themselves from a situation that maybe they couldn't avoid. We can't control what the people around us do, we can only do our best to be proactive and avoid if possible and react appropriately when we can't avoid.
I find it sad the ignorance of people who try to say they could defeat Krav when it is an ISREAL SPECIAL FORCES SYSTEM if you are that hardcore then why not join special forces if your that tuff. Though a lot of peoepl are keyboard warriors who know jack squat so I basically wasted my time.
And if you want to risk your life because you think kicking someone in the groin is not cool then your choice. Remember the person who is mugging you doesn't give a sh*t about honour as if he did he would have a job!!
Ive been doing krav maga for 5 months now and groin attacks are something that troubles me a bit. Yes, out on the street its an easy way of debilitating an attacker but wheres the honour? Ive always thought that groin kicks are taught to women to fend off rapists hence it makes me feel a bit iffy when doing them.
Um.. no MMA is mixed martial arts. It uses all martial arts including Krav Maga to creat a personal system that is best for you. There for Krav Maga can't possibly be as useful, because it is only one system, limiting itself. MMA can be trained for competition, sport or survival. Obviously training for sport will leave you at a weaker position on the street. But MMA trained for the street will always be better then the limited system of Krav Maga.
@JBOPatrick So basically what you're saying here is that if someone used MMA to train in the same moves and mentality as Krav Maga it would be superior? Because it sounds to me like it would be Krav Maga.
@Pantslessbob No, read what I wrote. MMA is all martial arts. Krav Maga techniques are not always the best to use for a particular person in a particular scenario in self defense. MMA uses techniques from all styles. So it may call upon Krav Maga for a few moves, mixed with Sambo, Kali, or Muay Thai. It would not be the same as Krav Maga, Krav Maga is a limited system closed in a box. MMA says use the best techniques that fit your body and situation, no matter what style they are.
@JBOPatrick A system will always be closed in some way or another. There is no way to escape it. If it is completely open, then there is no focus, and the system becomes merely a matter of learning as many different moves as you can, regardless of their proven effectiveness. Now, don't get me wrong here. I am a huge proponent of diversifying and studying as many different styles and systems as one can.
@JBOPatrick This allows one to become a more adaptable fighter with a better understanding of why one responds in a particular way rather than just that one does. Moreover, it exposes one to different mentalities that will better allow one to predict the actions of his opponent. However, the argument that any one style or system is inherently superior to the other becomes moot. Krav Maga is a style that is concerned only with self-defense, and the truth of the matter is that the vast
@JBOPatrick majority of MMA instructors are primarily concerned with the sporting aspects, often times without bothering to explain the difference between the two types. It only takes one instance of using a technique you don't realize doesn't work in real life to lose your life.
@JBOPatrick I would contend that it is far better to learn as many different styles under as many different instructors as possible, but if your only concern is learning real-wold self defense quickly and efficiently(along with the mentality to match it) then Krav Maga is the better bet.
I always wondered why people think that MMA fighters can't fight dirty on the street too, cause ion Combat Submission Wrestling, we learn all that too ^^
This should be titled "How to win a fight." A contest has rules. A fight is you against an opponent and has grave consequences. In a fight, you win at all costs. In a contest, you win within the rules and shake hands (broken or otherwise) and part ways. A fight always has the possible outcome of death, so a knee to the balls is the least thing to worry about. Better that than a bullet in the chest.
I think the diff betseen mma and krav on the streets is that an mma fighter would have to consciously go for the balls, while some one trained in krav wouldn't as its trained into to you to fight as cheap/dirty as possible for fastest results. Besides krav like mma is a blend of different martial arts , just focused in a different direction
Nice self def. ... hit the guy in the nuts as fast and hard as you can, before he rips your ass! Bravo! girls!
The MMA guys can also use these kind of triks. But they dont do it on the ring. Because it is a sport and they respect each-other!
For example: Guys like Fedor are trained to break something or kill with each moove they do. But Fedor've never did that to his opponents! Still he've owned them all for almost a dacade!
Tus videos son un ejemplo simbolico para aclarar que el krav maga no es competitivo,o sea que no es un deporte por que no existen las reglas..estamos de acuerdo,el krav maga es pura autodefensa..Feliz año nuevo 2012
What's the point of this video? Yes, I read the blurb. Is the whole point that learning to kick someone in the nuts is the ultimate self defense? If so, then it's a rather dull and colorless point. If not, WTF?
Last month I finger caught me in the eye removing 40% of my cornea during a friendly sparring match, it took three hours before it hurt and closed, that injury effectively blinded me for 4 days. I had to call out of work and I could not open my eye at all. My point is if you rely on eye gauges or groin strikes to end a fight you will be sadly mistaken. And if you try to kick me in the nuts or poke out my eye Im gonna try to kill you instead of just defend myself because you escalated the level
Keep in mind that no matter ur style, there's always a bad ass douche bag who can kick ur ass..Bruce Lee said it best, use what works, dump the rest..
If you atack a guy that no longer poses a threat to you. You just made yourself the agressor.
As for the whole MMA on the street discusion. In MMA you try to beat a guy within certain rules/condtions. When you are defending yourself on the street you want to flee as quickly as posible noth beating someone up/choking someone out. That does noth say MMA training is useless for the street. If you can adapt your training quickly to the situation at hand.
@Taskmaster300 You have some great tools. Saying MMA does noth work because someone might kick you in the pills (do something dirty) is partially true. A competition mindset is noth what you need out there.
However i think it is better to have strikes, throws, and groundfight stuff that you have actually used in sparring/competition to help you. Than stuff you have never used against a determined opponent.
I think MMA (like a bunch of other combat sports) is a great base for self defense.
@Taskmaster300 The kinda guys I found in the ring were usually much more determined than the "streetfighters" and other assorted bigmouths I've smashed. If someone is exp. in the ring and knows the difference, is krav maga usefull to them?
@doucher0 I think that is because most of the smart/disciplined dudes out there don,t engage in streetbrawls. Stays over the average ashole who is,nt smart enough to swallow his pride and walk away nor has the discipline to succesfully go against a trained combatsportsman. That said an ashole with a weapon or lots of them is a big problem.
I think as a base combat sports is the best since you apply the techniques in a live situation. Also think one must look to what one wil likely face
@BillORele From my perspective that is noth how it goth explained.
I repeat: This means that if you stunned your attacker with a kick to the groin you should continue to attack until they can no longer pose a threat.
When the dude is stuned you can also flee instead of swarming on the guy und hurting him further. Of course it depends on the situation sometimes this might be unwise. Sometimes you don,t want to hurt the guy.
I mean when someone is verry agressive and adrenaline is rushing through his body. I doubt pain will be a factor. There is a video of some dude atacking a cop he takes two bullets in the chest during the fight.
He does,nt stop und says hey i just goth shot. He just continued fighting. similair stories with people who goth pepper sprayed or even tassered.
This things are gruesome effective in a controled enviroment.
@Taskmaster300 However it becomes a whole different story when someone is going apeshit. So like some other people already commented after the fight he might be in a world of hurt because of your groin shots ,eye gouges.
Buth that is after he is done playing soccer with your head.
Und the longer you stay in the other dudes range messing him up further (after the groinshot) the bigger the change you geth locked up afterwards for being the agressor.
@Taskmaster300 That is if he just takes the beating and noth manages to turn the tables on you.
So like i mentioned before preventing gething in a fight. Is way more important than what kind of MMA/krav maga training. physichal self defense is verry risky und even when one does everything right one might still geth hurt.
Doesn't this video just show that MMA fighters are just as capable of kicking the groin as Krav Maga people? Hell, I doubt most Krav schools kick full-force to the groin in sparring, cup or no cup, so I'd venture to say that the average MMA fighter has kicked more groins than the average Kravist.
I'd also venture to say that the average MMA fighter kicks harder and faster than the average Kravist (Barring students of Krav schools that engage in alive training similar to MMA and boxing).
We posted this video not to propose that Krav Maga or MMA are better than one another but to facilitate a discussion. Both styles have different a purpose. One is for the street the other is for the ring.
Please read the video description before commenting so that we are all on the same page. (click the "show more" button above)
MMA is for the ring. You know who you're fighting, when you're fighting them, you know it'll just be one guy you're up against, and most importantly you know the guy will be unarmed. Krav is about survival. If you can't escape a violent situation then by all means do whatever you have to do to survive (groin kicks, eye gouging). Nobody says you have to fight fair (unless of course you're in the ring).
The video isn't representing the MMA fighters as being krav practitioners. Some of the moves are right out of krav (the upward kick to the face, groin kick). Krav is effective because it uses techniques that go along with what a person's natural response would be. These guys are in great shape, and it shows just how effective a move would be against a really aggressive attacker. In a street situation if you stand there and try to pace yourself and feel the guy out, you're probably gonna get hurt
I'm a Krav Instructor and i train sometimes with a friend of my and he is a MMA fighter. Love to train the ground work but i hate it when i'm on te ground, it's in my system to get up as quik as possible because your vulnerable on the ground on te street. But it's a great work-out!!
But a agree about the inappropriate titel of the movie.
"You are good in Krav Maga i've you dont have to fight"
"We are not making sport, we are making survival!"
1. Most of these guys were able to fight after the "foul", but chose not to because they can get a warning for the other guy. Strategy.
2. Some were in great pain from the "foul", but if they had their life depending on fighting back, they probably would have. Again, no need to. The referee will take care of it.
3. "... not better than MMA" and still naming the video MMA vs Krav Maga? Please. You were asking for trouble with the title.
@1stNightingale - Honestly, you gotta learn to read... The description clearly says there's no comparison between MMA and Krav Maga. You cannot pit a Combat style against a sport. On the street, anything goes... You don't have a set of rules. You wanna survive? You do what it takes to survive. So how about we ease off on the anti Krav Maga remarks!
@NestorRaphael LOL omg. I study Krav Maga and have been for about 6 Months. I am not a fan of UFC. I didn't compare anything, i didn't say anything about the street or rules, i didn't mention anything about surviving.
I simply mentioned that trained or not trained. Punching a guy after a fight has been stopped is a dickish move no matter who you are. Shoving thumbs into the eyes of someone you are on top of for a long enough time to consider your next move, is a dickish move. Who needs to read?
@1stNightingale Lol! My bad... I simply picked up from "Some of these Krav Maga practitioners are actually just being dicks."
Anyway I agree, this isn't the best way to showcase the fighting style. There's a lot more to Krav Maga than what this video showcases. I'm pretty sure a lot of these guys aren't even practitioners of Krav Maga.
Personally, I'd rather emphasize on the fact that you could be attacked by groups, with weapons and that anything goes on the street...
@NestorRaphael Agree and its ok people make mistakes. Alot fo these guys may know Krav Maga but they dont know personal restraint and sometimes i see the same guy be a victim from Krav and then attack using Krav in the same vid.
@TheKMDI Don't you just love how people get so defensive...
I've trained in both, and completely agree with your description. If I was training to fight competitively, I'd be going back to MMA and BJJ; but I train as an average guy that just wants to defend himself and his loved ones in the event of any dangerous real life situation, and IMHO Krav Maga is the best way to learn easy to apply real life self defense techniques.
It's not just the groin kicks krav is pointing out, but the upwards kick to the guy's face while he's trying to get on top of you----that's krav. Accidental fouls? The upwards kicks and the elbows were the guy's natural reaction to the situation, which is specifically what krav works on. Go ahead and pull BJJ out in the street, the asphalt isn't as forgiven as the mats (and your enemy's buddy could come along and kick you few in back of the head).
R u serious? these are ACCIDENTAL fouls. do you have any idea how hard it is to do this shit on purpose, when you have never really trained it? thats why there are rules. to safely train hard. thats why boxing, wrestling, juddo, bjj and ofc. MMMA are so effective. Its not about technique, its about training method. thats the part most of the krav guys never get.
@Xonan - Lmao you obviously have no idea what you are talking about... Kicking someone in the groin is a lot easier than a well placed kick on the knee or thighs. Why the hell do you think its against the rules of any MMA? I do BJJ at Gracie Barra Sydney and Kick Boxing in Blacktown. Though, I still have a lot to learn, but I know enough to say that your third sentence is totally wrong. Just to point out, many but NOT all MMA artist use the kick to the groin as tactical advantage.
@krayzee001 wut? I am talking about that the major difference between those sports lies in training method, not technique, and you waffle on about a " technique", the groin kick? My point is, the main difference is training method, not technique. So even if you are right about the groin kick, everybody can kick somebody in them nuts. Id just rather fight a guy who has been hitting a bag with low blows and pretending its an opponent, then fight a person who has fought " live" opponents. thats key
@Xonan - I wasn't talking about technique neither. I simply corrected you on your ignorant comment and I quote "R u serious? these are ACCIDENTAL fouls. do you have any idea how hard it is to do this shit on purpose, when you have never really trained it?". Just so you know, it doesn't matter what martial arts / discipline you are practising, at the end of the day, it's all about survival. MMA is no different. Last man standing. training method may differ, but the end results are the same.
You don't need to learn a fighting art to kick somebody on the groin or gouge an eye - this is a seriously pathetic way to promote an art.
Just because somenone learns an art based around rules doesn't mean they can't or won't break them in a real situation. The difference is they're likely to be stronger and fitter in the correct way to be effective, and have more understanding of how a person will react.
However, as Joe Rogan says, it's always about the person not the fighting style.
I don't think you need to elite training to kick someone in the plum's when fighting for your life... of course the rules go out the window in a street-survival situation.
@40518221 You'd better get some training if you want to actually survive. Or do you think it goes: "This guy wants to stab me in the gut with a knife, but I just kick him in the groin and I win?" You need training or a ton of luck if you want to pull it off when the other person fights back. It's not just about kicking somebody in the groin either.
@marvincz3 I don't plan on starting anything, so no one would need to 'fight back' - and if I'm attacked by someone who is trained in krav maga then I hope they outlaw it in my memory.
My point is, this video doesn't show the differences between krav and mma... it goes without saying that the rules of mma go out the window in a real life situation.

Krav maga is good when your life is in danger . And if you know any other techniques you can improvise your own style . Don't stop learning only cause you master one style . A real fight isn't pretty and doesn't have to be flashy like in the movies .

anybody can poke eyes or kick groin only a km guy would think those are trained attacks the rest of the world see that its an act of a coward unless faced with multiple attackers or a huge opponant why stoop to that learn some real techniques in competition rules are there to protect the longjevity of fighters Krav Maga is great for saving your life against untrained and violent attackers but why would you put yourself in those situations in the first place
biggunzcdb 1 month ago
@biggunzcdb Because all the people who get shot in the middle east attempting to protest a dictatorial government chose to be born there. Have some respect for those people who die, are maimed, tortured, etc because they weren't able to protect themselves from a situation that maybe they couldn't avoid. We can't control what the people around us do, we can only do our best to be proactive and avoid if possible and react appropriately when we can't avoid.

Ive been doing krav maga for 5 months now and groin attacks are something that troubles me a bit. Yes, out on the street its an easy way of debilitating an attacker but wheres the honour? Ive always thought that groin kicks are taught to women to fend off rapists hence it makes me feel a bit iffy when doing them.
ilovetodrinkblood 1 month ago
Um.. no MMA is mixed martial arts.
JBOPatrick 1 month ago
@JBOPatrick So basically what you're saying here is that if someone used MMA to train in the same moves and mentality as Krav Maga it would be superior? Because it sounds to me like it would be Krav Maga.
Pantslessbob 1 month ago
@Pantslessbob No, read what I wrote. MMA is all martial arts. Krav Maga techniques are not always the best to use for a particular person in a particular scenario in self defense. MMA uses techniques from all styles. So it may call upon Krav Maga for a few moves, mixed with Sambo, Kali, or Muay Thai. It would not be the same as Krav Maga, Krav Maga is a limited system closed in a box. MMA says use the best techniques that fit your body and situation, no matter what style they are.
JBOPatrick 1 month ago
@JBOPatrick A system will always be closed in some way or another. There is no way to escape it. If it is completely open, then there is no focus, and the system becomes merely a matter of learning as many different moves as you can, regardless of their proven effectiveness. Now, don't get me wrong here. I am a huge proponent of diversifying and studying as many different styles and systems as one can.
Pantslessbob 1 month ago
@JBOPatrick This allows one to become a more adaptable fighter with a better understanding of why one responds in a particular way rather than just that one does. Moreover, it exposes one to different mentalities that will better allow one to predict the actions of his opponent. However, the argument that any one style or system is inherently superior to the other becomes moot. Krav Maga is a style that is concerned only with self-defense, and the truth of the matter is that the vast
Pantslessbob 1 month ago
@JBOPatrick majority of MMA instructors are primarily concerned with the sporting aspects, often times without bothering to explain the difference between the two types. It only takes one instance of using a technique you don't realize doesn't work in real life to lose your life.
Pantslessbob 1 month ago
@JBOPatrick I would contend that it is far better to learn as many different styles under as many different instructors as possible, but if your only concern is learning real-wold self defense quickly and efficiently(along with the mentality to match it) then Krav Maga is the better bet.

Boromonkey 1 month ago
I think the diff betseen mma and krav on the streets is that an mma fighter would have to consciously go for the balls, while some one trained in krav wouldn't as its trained into to you to fight as cheap/dirty as possible for fastest results. Besides krav like mma is a blend of different martial arts , just focused in a different direction
socoto85 1 month ago
MMA,is a sport....2 athletes competing against one another to see who is the superior fighter.
There are a set of rules you agree to.
You don't owe any respect to somebody on the street who is ATTACKING you!
Your not CHALLENGING your attacker to see who is the better fighter.
You are defending yourself by ANY and ALL means necessary from harm or Death
YOU ARE NOT IN A CONTEST... A MANIAC IS TRYING TO HARM YOU OR A LOVED ONE

I disagree with second basic principle.
Taskmaster300 3 months ago
@Taskmaster300 You have some great tools. Saying MMA does noth work because someone might kick you in the pills (do something dirty) is partially true. A competition mindset is noth what you need out there.
However i think it is better to have strikes, throws, and groundfight stuff that you have actually used in sparring/competition to help you. Than stuff you have never used against a determined opponent.
I think MMA (like a bunch of other combat sports) is a great base for self defense.
Taskmaster300 3 months ago
@Taskmaster300 As a base to train controled techniques and spar.
However eventually one might add some scenarios with: knives, sucker punches, multipule agressors, and levels of force.
Do noth forget kiddo,s no training out there gives you any certainty. Beter to avoid violent situations.
And prevention and awareness will keep you way more safer than all the MMA/krav maga training in the world.
Taskmaster300 3 months ago
@Taskmaster300 The kinda guys I found in the ring were usually much more determined than the "streetfighters" and other assorted bigmouths I've smashed. If someone is exp. in the ring and knows the difference, is krav maga usefull to them?
doucher0 2 months ago
@doucher0 I think that is because most of the smart/disciplined dudes out there don,t engage in streetbrawls. Stays over the average ashole who is,nt smart enough to swallow his pride and walk away nor has the discipline to succesfully go against a trained combatsportsman. That said an ashole with a weapon or lots of them is a big problem.
I think as a base combat sports is the best since you apply the techniques in a live situation. Also think one must look to what one wil likely face
Taskmaster300 2 months ago
@Taskmaster300 For example if one is a warden in a high securitey prison.
The chances of gething involved into violence are way bigger than that one works as an office worker.
If there is a big chance of gething atacked with a sharp object. Training to block incoming strikes during sparring might noth be the best idea.
training to take people to the floor und use grappling might noth be a good idea with violent bystanders.
So i think learning a good base: strikes, clinch, ground.
Taskmaster300 2 months ago
@Taskmaster300 Is the best idea.
Und then train for what one wil likely face.
That said lots of situations are verry risky no matter how trained one is.
So that is why i think there are multipile circles of defence.
1 prevention 2 awareness 3de-escalate 4physichal self defense.
The higher the number the bigger the chance of gething hurt/killed.
So that is why i think it is a good idea to first take a look at the three earlier points.
Und then perhaps train for physichal violence.
Taskmaster300 2 months ago
@Taskmaster300 Just my thoughts.
Peace
Taskmaster300 2 months ago
@Taskmaster300 The 2nd basic principle says attack UNTIL they are no longer a threat to you. It doesn't say to continue attacking after that.
BillORele 1 month ago
@BillORele From my perspective that is noth how it goth explained.
I repeat: This means that if you stunned your attacker with a kick to the groin you should continue to attack until they can no longer pose a threat.
When the dude is stuned you can also flee instead of swarming on the guy und hurting him further. Of course it depends on the situation sometimes this might be unwise. Sometimes you don,t want to hurt the guy.
However i doubt a guy wil always geth stuned.
Taskmaster300 1 month ago
@Taskmaster300 When hit in the nuts or eye gouged.
Taskmaster300 1 month ago
@Taskmaster300 However it becomes a whole different story when someone is going apeshit. So like some other people already commented after the fight he might be in a world of hurt because of your groin shots ,eye gouges.
Buth that is after he is done playing soccer with your head.
Und the longer you stay in the other dudes range messing him up further (after the groinshot) the bigger the change you geth locked up afterwards for being the agressor.
Taskmaster300 1 month ago

Nobody says you have to fight fair (unless of course you're in the ring).
luvkravmaga 3 months ago 11
The video isn't representing the MMA fighters as being krav practitioners. Some of the moves are right out of krav (the upward kick to the face, groin kick). Krav is effective because it uses techniques that go along with what a person's natural response would be. These guys are in great shape, and it shows just how effective a move would be against a really aggressive attacker. In a street situation if you stand there and try to pace yourself and feel the guy out, you're probably gonna get hurt

But a agree about the inappropriate titel of the movie.
"You are good in Krav Maga i've you dont have to fight"
"We are not making sport, we are making survival!"

Couple of points, though...

Some of these Krav Maga practitioners are actually just being dicks. E.G: Shoving thumbs in eyes, Punching after end of match.
1stNightingale 3 months ago
@1stNightingale - Honestly, you gotta learn to read... The description clearly says there's no comparison between MMA and Krav Maga. You cannot pit a Combat style against a sport. On the street, anything goes... You don't have a set of rules. You wanna survive? You do what it takes to survive. So how about we ease off on the anti Krav Maga remarks!
NestorRaphael 3 months ago 15
@NestorRaphael LOL omg. I study Krav Maga and have been for about 6 Months. I am not a fan of UFC. I didn't compare anything, i didn't say anything about the street or rules, i didn't mention anything about surviving.
I simply mentioned that trained or not trained. Punching a guy after a fight has been stopped is a dickish move no matter who you are. Shoving thumbs into the eyes of someone you are on top of for a long enough time to consider your next move, is a dickish move. Who needs to read?
1stNightingale 3 months ago
@1stNightingale Lol! My bad... I simply picked up from "Some of these Krav Maga practitioners are actually just being dicks."
Anyway I agree, this isn't the best way to showcase the fighting style. There's a lot more to Krav Maga than what this video showcases. I'm pretty sure a lot of these guys aren't even practitioners of Krav Maga.
Personally, I'd rather emphasize on the fact that you could be attacked by groups, with weapons and that anything goes on the street...
NestorRaphael 3 months ago
@NestorRaphael Agree and its ok people make mistakes. Alot fo these guys may know Krav Maga but they dont know personal restraint and sometimes i see the same guy be a victim from Krav and then attack using Krav in the same vid.
1stNightingale 3 months ago
Apart from the groin shots alot of this seems like fair fighting and skill based though i do not know the rules or the reason for the rules in UFC.
1stNightingale 3 months ago
@TheKMDI Don't you just love how people get so defensive...
I've trained in both, and completely agree with your description. If I was training to fight competitively, I'd be going back to MMA and BJJ; but I train as an average guy that just wants to defend himself and his loved ones in the event of any dangerous real life situation, and IMHO Krav Maga is the best way to learn easy to apply real life self defense techniques.
kiwiramjet 3 months ago
It's not just the groin kicks krav is pointing out, but the upwards kick to the guy's face while he's trying to get on top of you----that's krav. Accidental fouls? The upwards kicks and the elbows were the guy's natural reaction to the situation, which is specifically what krav works on. Go ahead and pull BJJ out in the street, the asphalt isn't as forgiven as the mats (and your enemy's buddy could come along and kick you few in back of the head).
luvkravmaga 3 months ago
R u serious? these are ACCIDENTAL fouls. do you have any idea how hard it is to do this shit on purpose, when you have never really trained it? thats why there are rules. to safely train hard. thats why boxing, wrestling, juddo, bjj and ofc. MMMA are so effective. Its not about technique, its about training method. thats the part most of the krav guys never get.
Xonan 3 months ago
@Xonan - Lmao you obviously have no idea what you are talking about... Kicking someone in the groin is a lot easier than a well placed kick on the knee or thighs. Why the hell do you think its against the rules of any MMA? I do BJJ at Gracie Barra Sydney and Kick Boxing in Blacktown. Though, I still have a lot to learn, but I know enough to say that your third sentence is totally wrong. Just to point out, many but NOT all MMA artist use the kick to the groin as tactical advantage.
krayzee001 3 months ago
@krayzee001 wut? I am talking about that the major difference between those sports lies in training method, not technique, and you waffle on about a " technique", the groin kick? My point is, the main difference is training method, not technique. So even if you are right about the groin kick, everybody can kick somebody in them nuts. Id just rather fight a guy who has been hitting a bag with low blows and pretending its an opponent, then fight a person who has fought " live" opponents. thats key
Xonan 3 months ago
@Xonan - I wasn't talking about technique neither. I simply corrected you on your ignorant comment and I quote "R u serious? these are ACCIDENTAL fouls. do you have any idea how hard it is to do this shit on purpose, when you have never really trained it?". Just so you know, it doesn't matter what martial arts / discipline you are practising, at the end of the day, it's all about survival. MMA is no different. Last man standing. training method may differ, but the end results are the same.
krayzee001 3 months ago
You don't need to learn a fighting art to kick somebody on the groin or gouge an eye - this is a seriously pathetic way to promote an art.
Just because somenone learns an art based around rules doesn't mean they can't or won't break them in a real situation. The difference is they're likely to be stronger and fitter in the correct way to be effective, and have more understanding of how a person will react.
However, as Joe Rogan says, it's always about the person not the fighting style.
uksupafly 3 months ago
What does this prove about Krav Maga?
I don't think you need to elite training to kick someone in the plum's when fighting for your life... of course the rules go out the window in a street-survival situation.
40518221 3 months ago
@40518221 You'd better get some training if you want to actually survive. Or do you think it goes: "This guy wants to stab me in the gut with a knife, but I just kick him in the groin and I win?" You need training or a ton of luck if you want to pull it off when the other person fights back. It's not just about kicking somebody in the groin either.
marvincz3 3 months ago
@marvincz3 I don't plan on starting anything, so no one would need to 'fight back' - and if I'm attacked by someone who is trained in krav maga then I hope they outlaw it in my memory.
My point is, this video doesn't show the differences between krav and mma... it goes without saying that the rules of mma go out the window in a real life situation.
