@EnvyPiecesOfRainbow I use oil paints. Brands are Martin F. Weber Prima, WO, or Bob Ross, as well as Chroma, and Alexander and Winton. Pretty much what is on sale.
@EnvyPiecesOfRainbow Thanks. This week I'm working on some new films about doing a basic seascape and a deep ocean wave. As soon as I get them done, we'll post here.
@Freak7109 I use this technique for oils, acrylics and water mixable oils. The only difference is in the handling of the mediums. With acrylic, I use gesso and water as a medium to keep the canvas wet. I also use a very fine water mist sprayer as I keep the canvas wet for up to 2 hours with acrylic.
The problem with old tubes is not they expire is that if air gets into the tube, the paints dry out. If you can squeeze it out, it generally means you can paint with it.
Anytime I can help. We're now just starting to understand the YouTube Technology and how to use it even better for staying in touch with all of the students and getting even more great tips and instructional information/buides.
this is amazing. im looking for lakes but i stumbled across this and all i have to say is wow. i have only been painting for a few years and i have only done one seascape and after the horror it turned into have never wanted to do another. but after seeing this im sure i will definately be using this. your technique has difinately impacted my skills =] thanks you
This is exactly what I'm trying to do. I want you to feel, while things may be challenging, you can do it. So I want all of instructions to be crystal clear. If you can envision what needs to be done, your hand will follow.
Brilliant mate. them 2 idiots havent a clue what theyre talking about. Sheer ignorance. Take it on the chin and rememeber for every one person who makes a commment like that, theres a 100 like me who are actually learning from what you´re doing. Very grateful. keep em coming
thank you for demonstrating waves...... it will help me greatly in my work....... im picking up different techniques from different ppl........ thanks again

I'm glad I stumbled upon this video - Ive been wanting to do a painting but wasnt sure how I was going to do the water. This will surely help!
Do you think these techniques would work well enough with acrylic paint?
I've not used oil much.... I have some old tubes - do they expire?
