typical youtube drivel. there are tons of fish in the bay. i go 10-20 times a year to the bay and always encounter crabs, jellyfish, fish, seabirds, and the occasional bald eagle. i have encountered zero shrimp in the bay for the past 20 years. a very simple thing that each and every individual is capable of performing, is to properly dispose of their trash and not throw it in the bay. bodies of water do not recycle garbage. every time i go i find myself cleaning up at least 5 pounds of crap.
I have to agree with Strikenetter. Pollution is the problem. I grew up on the bay and the bay isnt over fished the fish simply dont come in the bay because the water is to nasty, would you swim in a septic tank? When I was a kid we could hardly pull oyster dredges for the grass on the bottom now all that grass is gone due to the herbicides & pesticides used by farms. Realistate growth is another problem peope are building homes a few feet from the water, there is no more buffer zone for runnoff.
nice video...some people got this wrongly..some understood that this video intends to show that the predators are causing the major damage to the bay and not our activities...hope the idea of this video to promote awareness, is accepted correctly by viewers...to the author...pls respond to this comment to show that you are in agreement with me, I don't live the bay..but i can understand what's going on, the pressure is on us to get this resolved quick for the future....
This is a great video, superb ! As for the skinny diseased striped bass, its not from a lack of food. They dine on any living creature not just menhaden. Skinny stripers are seen here as well in NC but only in the summer when these cool water fish become sluggish and their food speeds up. As for diseased, pfisteria, is seen here in our rivers also, pollution !
How do we restore the Chesapeake bay ? End the polluting runoff and it will restore itself ! Though this can't be done !
Yes, I love the Chesapeake Bay, I have a show of me sailing the beautiful waters on my channel
