Our Unemployment Rate is over 10% now in Michigan and also I just love how Ron Paul saids we don't have enough Money for National Health Care and then Votes for Tax Cuts for Oil Companies. where does he think that Money comes from the Tax Fairy ? No Mr Paul it doesn't, it comes from my Tax Dollars of which should be going to Schools and Roads. not Just throwing Money at Companies to make more Money Ron Paul is another lying Republican nothing more. no wonder the Teabaggers love him....!
Just curious to know what you actually think now since the unemployments rates are much higher than they were since this video was made. I am undecided so far on Ron Paul, but I do think he makes a lot of sense in some areas. Sounds like you are taking your anger out on an innocent secretary and that is really childish. Doesn't make any sense at all.
@myoilofgladness Ron Paul - dogmatic laissez faire capitalist - still couldn't care less about thousands of people losing their jobs and losing their homes. Paul consistently votes against unemployment extensions. Ron Paul is more worried about the people WITH money - the wealthy - and inflation hurting them. I have not heard Ron Paul once concerned about rising unemployemnt and poverty. He doesn't care. let them eat cake
The One Percent Doctrine is not a definitive statement on anything. People in the CIA (as mentioned in the article you linked) said Miscik overrode the non-belligerents in the Agency's analytic division and sided with the more hawkish anti-terror faction. She wasn't foaming at the mouth for war, Paul Wolfowitz style, but she didn't do anything to stop it.
Impeachment, again. What f*cking bunk. Replace W with who. Your corrupt, war-loving Dems? Play a different tune for a change.
And blaming the FREE MARKET for the present turmoil when it was the decidedly ANTI FREE MARKET operations of an unconstitutioanl central bank setting interest rates too low, and busybody legislators like Barney Frank mandating Big Government outfits Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac give loans to people who had no proof of employment/income or collateral--well, again, a comedy of the absurd.
Agree (relatively) on GM management, but is Chris Dodd going to do a better job? LOL! Huge unions, large salaries, over-production, and crushing legislation are what brought GM down, not capitalism. They make the most money per unit on those huge trucks the enviro-wing of your party detests, and now they're gonna have some BURO-craps tell them to build nice little Yaris-type econo-mobiles that nobody wants to buy--at a loss. Now that's how you run a business!
I don't believe in Paul's free market BS (it didn't work during the Great Depression etc..) and the greedy capitalists on Wall Street and at GM are screwing up again today, BIGTIME.
I would have been forced to vote for Hillary, with a heavy heart...
You're welcome! Ever since stumbling across your attempted smear of Paul, I thought, heck, I'll waste some minutes trying to have a civil discussion with this guy. When I saw you just wanted a pissing match, I also more than happily obliged. But then I noticed that I must be having some kind of impact. I brought up Emanuel, then you do a vid on Emanuel. I brought up Miscik, you did a vid on Miscik. And now it appears you're certifiably upset with Ron Paul, though at this point still too obtuse
see!!! I told you that you were smarter than Churchill and Roosevelt... And I can't wait for your premiere You Tube video!!
But I must tell you that liberal bloggers had already mentioned Brennan and Miscik as problem appointments. You and the hard-left bloggers were wrong about Miscik and thus another video was born.
My RX: work on 2012...
#1 - get a candidate
#2 - get a political party to support that candidate
Anybody who thinks they've "won" anything because some Chicago Machine politician got elected must be far more than frustrated -- perhaps deranged, insane, etc. I mean, millions and millions and millions of people voted for O-bomb-O. How can being part of that MASS of people, as just one admittedly "small fish" make you a winner of anything? That's even more pathetic than thinking YOU'RE a winner because some professional athletes in your home town win a football/baseball/basketball game.
Thanks for the admonition. We've all already lost with O-bomb-O, including you. See you've made ANOTHER vid about Paul, like it's an obsession. But as you've SCREAMED at me here repeatedly, he's not in power. The Big O and Dem majority, pal. Ball's in their court. So, again, I emplore you, talk to or SCREAM AT the people who are actually going to be starting/continuing the wars, confiscating money/property, and putting the final nail in the coffin of this country.
Oh, and I did whip out my ouija board and contact Herb Hoover last night, and he told me same thing he told your hero FDR on 12/8/1941:
"You and I know that this continuous putting pins in rattlesnakes finally got this country bitten."
Gee, notice any relevance to today?
And BTW, I'm most definitely NOT smarter than FDR or Churchill. Just a whole lot more honest, decent, etc. It's not their stupidity that I abhored, it's their deceit, corruption, and murderous dishonesty.
Why didn't your Dem heroes turn east and throw off the Soviet yoke? I mean, while they were busy saving the world and all. I guess the 8-10 million butchered Ukrainians
@@@
Clever Sophistry; answer - we live in a democracy and a war with Russia would not have been supported by the people or Congress
And you're just a shitty little Democratic party prostitute. And not just of today's new and improved, Rahm-o-riffic Dems, but also of the classic warmongers of yesteryear. Yes, FDR and his lying fireside chats warning of the coming Hitlerite world domination, while not DOING ANYTHING to stop the hegemony of Stalin. Hey Dem shill, if FDR was so concerned about ridding the world of dictators and promoting freedom, why did he hand Stalin Poland on a platter?
Wow, pulling out the silencing card? I was waiting for that. Typical Neocon/Neolib action. Once again, LMFAO. You should be flattered anybody wants to comment on your shitty little propaganda videos, let alone with the kind of civil, referenced dialogue I employed. But I guess you like your echo chamber, only emerging briefly to shout at 20-year-old Paul staffers while being too much of a gutless wonder to call up change(dot)gov and tell them about your disappointment with Biden, Rahm, Hillary
again - you know more than Churchill and Roosevelt!!!!! AMAZING!!! (but you haven't backed a winning candidate for president in the last 12 years LOLOLOLOL!!!)
deleted ..for absurdly high levels of stupidity..
again - think 2012, YOUR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE - WINNING OR LOSING... (or more bitching and moaning..)
And the way they just served up anti-Soviet Russians to Uncle Joe as part of Operation Keelhaul? Knowing they faced a barbarous death back home. Where was the charity and kind-heartedness that we always hear about? Or at Yalta, where Poland's independence was spat upon again.
The war was fought for Poland -- and Poland was lost.
Certainly, Hitler was no more a threat than the Stalin your man FDR and his Soviet spies Alger Hiss and Harry Hopkins supported. He was a Napoleon-like European militarist, not an international Communist. Neither Hitler nor Mussolini harbored an institution like COMINTERN, explicitly created for the purpose of promoting communist revolutionary movements around the world--including here in the US. Now that was truly a country and movement that wanted to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
So, cutting through all the obfuscation and misdirection: FDR lied to the public and did everything he could to maneuver America into WW2, and ended up replacing one tyranny with another that was every bit as, if not more, depraved -- AND, most importantly in the amoral world of intl politics, MORE of a threat to the US, as evidenced by the active backing of the CPUSA and its spies by Moscow.
And you STILL haven't answered my question: did you support Clinton's wars in the Balkans?
Obviously 8 percent is not enough. It must be whatever percentage it takes to stop congress from throwing money (currency) at the problem, and let the free market work.
Re: racism and homophobia. Paul didn't write the letters. Even your Neoconservative overlords Wolf Blitzer and James Kirchick don't think he's what you're calling him.
It figures that you were too lazy to read gay writer Raimondo's debunking of your Leaders' smear campaign. That way you can shut your eyes and ears to any voice that diverges from the pleasant little concensus your movement has built up for itself, and dismiss somebody on the basis of cheap ad hominem that the purveyor does
not even believe in. And out of all the newsletters, you Neocon/Neolib libelers have only been able to highlight four supposedly racist passages, each of which, read in context, is not nearly as offensive as the liars would like one to believe--unless you take the side of those kind LA rioters?
The Good Reverend Wright, on the other hand, who's church your Messiah attended for over 20years, listening unbothered to his truly hateful, ethnocentric rants, is, er, tougher to defend.
I suspect rather like you, charlatan. You bitch and complain about W's war, but haven't said anything about Clinton's wars in the Balkans. So you're clearly an interventionist. And the Iraq War itself wasn't a problem, it's just that you resented a Republican was pulling the trigger. It should have been a Democrat, like it was for WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, and Kosovo. Peaceful folks, them.
FDR and his Communist-infiltrated govt had been working to involve America in the European War years before Pearl Harbor-- Lend Lease shipments (to Britain and USSR), contrary to professed American neutrality, acts of war in the Atlantic, distribution of British secret service propaganda, threats and ultimatums against Japan, etc. You don't actually believe the old New Dealer wanted to keep America out of that war, do you?
GHW Bush, against the better instincts he showed in avoiding commmitment of forces to Balkan civil wars in 1991-2, acceded to "humanitarian" pressure and committed forces (interestingly, after Clinton had been elected--that dangerous transition time between admins). As I recall, Mr. Clinton didn't raise any fuss about it, and in fact continued operations and maintenance of soldiers and marines in Somalia until 1994.
You're unaware of the humanitarian intervention in Haiti? Operation Uphold Democracy/Restore Democracy. Google "intervention Haiti". First link is a favorable global security article/overview. Another good article is the second link after googling: "antiwar(.)com Haiti".
FDR and his Communist-infiltrated govt had been working to involve America in the European War years before Pearl Harbor-- Lend Lease shipments (to Britain and USSR), contrary to professed American
For (probably the fifth) time, Paul would be a favorite choice, but he's up there in years. So, Baldwin would be my fallback. And then even Kucinich or Nader, though I wouldn't be particularly enthusiastic about either.
Now, I've answered your questions, please answer mine:
Did you support Clinton's operations in the Balkans?
What will you do if Obama involves America in another Middle Eastern War (say, Iran)? Excuse it, oppose it, anything? Please let me know.
Why don't you answer my questions for a change. I did you the courtesty of answering yours, but I've asked you now multiple times over the 3 or so weeks I've commented on your vids: are you an interventionist? Did you support Clinton's operations in the Balkans?
And, who's YOUR candidate? Or is it still O-bomb-O, even though he's done nothing but spit in the face of his antiwar base?
Stalin controlled all of Eastern and most of Central Europe. Stalin murdered more people than Hitler ever did even before WW2 began, and maintained concentration camps until the end of his life--which were then prolonged, with slightly less brutality by his successors. Stalin, with the extensive help of the Rosenbergs, Klaus Fuchs, et al, developed and successfully tested an a-bomb in 1949. Uncle Joe was every bit as dangerous and twice as depraved as Hitler.
Yep... that is exactly what Ron Paul wants to do to our children.. I mean, its only Constitutional.. That's Ron Paul's exact plan for cheaper energy. Didn't you know that? Oh, Ron Paul is for competing currencies. Not necessarily a gold standard. Is there anything else you will like to add??
Ah,you think that hurt my feeling little boy?I could buy and sell 10 of you.You ignorant inbred conspiro nuts are the real waste of air. This ignorant old racist introduces legislation to help his district and then votes against it knowing it will pass.He is a hypocrite and the lowest form of life.Guess you ignorant TexASS fucktards like that kind of representation though.
Hey man, I'm sorry for calling you dumb.. You just need to understand that America was a great country between 1776 and 1912. Please try and understand how money works. Our "real leaders" are telling you gotcha' sucker! They are making you cut your own head off and you dont even know it.
Yeah it was just wonderful,6 year olds working in coal mines, factories and vaious other sweat shops.God you people should read a fucking history book at least before spouting your ignorant shit. The fucking gold standard is great when you only have a few million people, but not worth a tinkers damn when you have nearly 300 million. This is the 21st century not the 19th.
Ralph... you're like a paradox of sorts. Incredibly bright, obnoxiously (in a good way) passionate, and relatively 'informed' (sorta)... and, yet, ya just haven't investigated things enough to know and understand things like the Federal Reserve, Austrian economics, and what is the role of government and, in turn, what is the role of we, the people (as individuals as well as business owners.) Speaking of communism/socialism, your buddy Obama is taking you there. :( RP wouldn't have.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ralph, I kept telling The ignorant bots what a loon this old racist is,but I assume they will still keep wearing their tin hats and spouting individual freedom, and of course their loon conspiro crap.
Finally, because of this, the proper reaction would be to let the market correct itself. And it would be bad. We would suffer horrendously for a year or two, but then the correction would occur, and we would return to normal (pretty much).
So you are right to be worried by what is going on, or by the effects of Ron Paul's policies, but you misunderstood why he wanted it, and what the consequences would be.
Btw, I dont necessarily agree with these policies, but its interesting to see them
These investment banks alternatively, have been successful so far due to good business practices, and not risking too much. Now they have, and they are paying the price.
Ron Paul thinks that these ppl need to go under, debt needs to be liquidated, and the market needs to correct itself without government interference. The bailout prolongs the bad business practices and the correction that must take place.
Its not about poverty, its not about unemployment, its about being neutral in the face of successful and unsuccessful businesses.
However, it seems you have misunderstood Ron Paul's reasoning behind this recession as well.
First of all, the recession has come because the government has encouraged bad business practices by fannie mae and freddie mac. Why? because the govt could ensure them if they fucked up. So those companies could afford to risk more. They did, and look what happened.
I wish Ron Paul would give us his "impersonal view" of the unemployment rate. Especially since RP is obsessed with economic policy, one would think that "unemployment" is a concern.
(Totally free markets mean booms and busts, long recessions and frequently high employment and poverty.
I reject Paul's notion that a free market will lead to widespread prosperity. To the contrary, it will lead to a concentration of wealth in a few hands and an increase in general poverty/ a lowering of wages.)
Determining exactly how much govt or how much free market are ideal for a country is obviously very complex, arcane, and almost impossible to fit into a comment forum like this. One thing is for certain, though: if the United States did not spend such vast sums on the maintenance of its foreign empire and pre-emptive wars of choice, as Paul has unwaveringly argued, there would be money available to bail out Detroit and possibly "do something" about unemployment elsewhere.
Now, whether or not Detroit deserves to be bailed out is another question. I'd much rather auto workers get a bailout than million-dollar-bonus-eating, Federal Reserve supported banksters, but people all around this country are suffering, and the vast majority will get no bailout.
Obama and his Clintonista econ team are pushing the predictable panacea: deficit spending Keynesian public works programs (and maybe a war down the line, as that's what really got this old econ going way back) ...
But this ship has many more leaks in it that Obama, for reasons of social pandering and political expediency, will never address. Take illegal immigration. Some 45 billion dollars last year was sent by illegal laborers back to Mexico. Who or what is going to stop cheap foreign laborers from gobbling up all the road-improving, school painting busywork jobs O tries to create? And then sending a significant portion of their earnings back home, and NOT spending it here in the US?
What a lousy partizan shill you are. I try to make a neutral, conversational point, and all you do is vent your shitty propaganda. So it's only "republicans" who hire illegal aliens? No businessman, no individual, no entity that's anything other than a Republican has hired illegals? Ever been to LA, smart guy? Overwhelmingly Democratic, overwhelmingly "progressive", but one of the biggest illegal havens in the country. Gee, do ya think the people out there who employ Mexican housekeepers and
and nannies are Republicans? All of them? Even a majority? Get fucking real.
Where's da dough gonna come from for your unemployment benefits? Borrow some more from Beijing? Tokyo? Why not just print it? That's what your Savior O-bomb-O's future SecTreas has always advocated, most recently in his capacity as Captain of Bailout Central, the New York Federal Reserve Bank.
But no matter what FDR or LBJ retreads your Messiah comes up with, nothing's being done about the main reason this land
is turning to shit: the albatross of empire, and the unconstitutional funding aparatus used to sustain it, the Federal Reserve.
Instead of calling up and screaming at some 20-year-old girl, why don't you phone O-bomb-O's change headquarters and give them a piece of your mind on: a) Rahm's appointment, b) Hillary's appointment, c) O-bomb-O's support for the saving of Lieberman, d) O-bomb-O not saying anything about reducing our military commitments abroad.
e) O-bomb-O's promise to escalate nation-building operations in Afghanistan, f) O-bomb-O's yea vote for the Wall Street bailout.
Change Number: 202-540-3000
Come on, patriot, are you just a party propagandist or a man of principle? You can scream at a Paul staffer--will you do the same to the staff of your Messiah, and hope he hears you before it's too late?
We'll see what develops. Maybe RP'll run in 2012. I would support any candidate who puts forth a platform to cure the NYC-DC cancer that plagues this country--end the Empire, end the profligate spending, end illegal immigration, and stop empowering that rotten cabal in New York to print trillions of dollars and Weimarize the middle class into nothing. Whoever challenges those parasites deserves support, and people who have otherwise differing opinions should, at least for now, unify on some core
issues, especially foreign and monetary policy. Right now everybody's focused on sinking house/stock prices and unemployment. Now that the Federal Reserve cabal has injected upwards of a trillion greenbacks into the system, prices might get a little boost at the expense of a re-depreciated dollar, reduced buying power, and inflation--and once again, the true cause of our misery will escape attention. Whoever shines the light on these pondscum deserves support, whether Dem, GOP or independent.
Paul, Baldwin, Kucinich, Nader (and maybe somebody we don't know right now)
I think less important than a candidate is to build a counter-ideology to the DC-NYC Axis of Evil. It can come from people liberal-inclined, conservative-inclined, or other, provided they're not so far off the rails as to be easily marginalized. You already took an important step in making vids critical of the Clinton and Emanuel appointments. Other than that, the only recourse is to secure billions of dollars
and build your own TV network, thereby influencing voters, thereby influencing politicians in how they pander to get those voters. But, of course, Money and Power is where the Enemy is strongest, and many, many opponents have been gunned down where they stand trying to challenge them.
The Huckster's tenure in Arkansas doesn't inspire much confidence, and as for foreign policy I think he'd probably fall right in line with the Christian Zionist standard (the tail to Neocons dog). But, as for somebody who "doesn't know anything about Washington" I don't think that would be that bad an idea. I think the pondscum destroying the country know the ins and outs of DC pretty well, and look what they've done.
As for the wall--RP's not an anarchist. He's always explicitly defended the need for defense of the country, including a strong, lean military, border security, and the works. Again, without all these Neocon-Neolib Save the World projects, there'd be a lot left over for a one-time $5-6 billion to build the fence, and the probably $500m annual cost to keep it up. And then would we finally have heaven on earth? No. But it would be a vast improvement over the sorry state of things now.
Lastly, backtracking to the Huckster: how would I ever support this clown after his appeal-to-emotion panderfest about needing to fix what "we've" broken in Iraq--as if another X # of years of US forces parading around Baghdad is going to turn that hellhole into Switzerland.
Doc St. Paul PhD is a loser... you got anybody that can win? And you better start looking Right Now.. quit wasting your breath bitching and moaning about Obama..
Give me your Winner for 2012 who Will Save the Great US of A.
Excellent work. You are living, breathing proof of what's wrong with this country. Shame I wasted all this time trying to have a civil discussion with some two-bit internet propagandist like yourself, a cowardly slave of the Democratic party till the end, no matter how much it dumps on you. I compliment Kucinich--with whom I greatly disagree on other issues, but admire for his No votes on war and the bailout, and you don't have the objectivity to make one complimentary statement about Paul.
No, let's leave the border undefended and welcome everyone, because borders are soooo last century. Let them come and establish their over-populated shanty towns anywhere they please, and hey, who says they should learn English to vote or get a driver's license, or that we shouldn't build a redundant Spanish-ed curriculum for our superbly run public school system. We can pay for it. Your savior will figure out a way, I just know it. Print, borrow, spend, repeat. Keep La Raza and AIPAC happy.
Hey Dem shill, what's your proof of racism or "homophobia"? Are you banking on that smear job by Jamie Kirchik in Obama-supporter Martin Peretz's The New Republic? A paper (and two top-notch guys) who thought the Iraq War was just a great idea, and bringing democracy to Iran would be just swell too! You ally yourself with pondscum like that to smear somebody who's actually challenged the Neocon-Neolib Foreign Policy Machine that your savior has now fully empowered with fresh blood. Miserable.
I guess Paul's support for Don't Ask Don't Tell (didn't your previous hero Clinton support that too?) is homophobic? Or maybe because he doesn't support even more draconian, capriciously interpreted workplace discrimination laws, because, hey, they've made the business world just so much more pleasant, productive, and profitable. I have a halfdozen friends/family who've served or serve in the military, and none support some leftoid social experiment like having open gays proudly declare their
sexual orientation. Every poll, article, etc that I've seen coming from enlisted men or officers corresponds to that anecdotal evidence. The military's there to protect the homeland and kill bad guys, not serve as the incubator for some social experiment Nancy Pelosi would like to dabble with. Or Nation Build and Spread Democracy like the Neocons and Neoliberals want. But you must believe in all that bunk. Carry on then, brave propagandist, the revolution is almost won.
Bad news: I have some good news from the Obama transition team -
Morning Edition, November 26, 2008 · A top candidate to serve as CIA director in the Obama administration has asked that his name be withdrawn from consideration. John Brennan, a 25-year veteran of the agency, has been serving for months as Barack Obama's top adviser on intelligence issues.
And Dems didn't vote to impeach Clinton for the Balkan wars. Speaker Pelosi and your crappy Dems have been very vocal about the supposed Iranian "threat", including support for sanctions and classifying the Revolutionary Guards as terrorists. You can bet your last shekel that had a Dem been in the White House they would have voted YES.
After all, don't want to disappoint the wealthy supporters:
watch?v=qFSLdDDHv8Y
watch?v=iWLBhgTQ46o ("the leadership in Israel asked me to").
Hey, anything that reduces the chance of another unnecessary foreign war for Israel is good news to me as well -- but seeing as how I can't bring myself to be some Party prostitute, I think this is a little convenient misdirection to passify lazy partizans like yourself. After all, Rahm in the WH, Hill and Bill at Foggy Bottom, Dennis Ross ME specialist. Didn't Joe Lieberman call O-bomb-O's cabinet selections "just about perfect". LMFAO! Talk about the kiss of death.
Please, NEOlib Dem shill, provide some article of evidence proving I'm homophobic. Anything. You've failed in every one of your attempts to smear me or Paul, so, come on, here's your chance. Give me some evidence, circumstantial, anything--I've commented on three of your videos, probably over a thousand words, so you should have plenty of material. Come on, propagandist, anything but the Dem and Neocon trademark of unsubstantiated argumentum ad hominem.
proving I'm homophobic. Anything. You've failed in every one of your attempts to smear me or
@@@@
You both are demi-gods and you both have a monopoly on all truth and wisdom... (i.e. I have failed.) In the same way that Rumsfeld and Cheney had a monopoly. Too bad the Most Highest Ron Paul didn't use his monopoly on truth to challenge Cheney's monopoly in 2004.. or that St. Paul didn't attempt impeachment in Bush's second term... Perhaps Paul needed some pork for his district.
"Anyways, I dont think Ron Paul is a homophobe; Im just cynical and enjoy getting supporters of political candidates riled up. If you were a Giuliani guy Id have called him a fascist. But I must say, the Ron Paul supporters are the most enthusiastic of the bunch!"
What a fucking disgraceful charlatan. But that must be par for the course in your circle.
You're a lazy coward. You can't decide on a political party (there only about 6 national parties in this country right now).
You have no party - you are out in the cold - zero influence. Waiting for whatever crack-pot, loser candidate decides to run for president as a down the ticket candidate.
I gave you four names. Too lazy to read that as well, Dem shill? Paul, Baldwin, Kucinich, and Nader. Not wild about the latter two, but unlike you I'm willing to make alliances with candidates I agree with on the MAJOR issues, putting aside smaller differences. But I guess opposition to a bellicose foreign policy, suicidal govt spending, and Federal Reserve Wall Street banksterism isn't enough for a Party concubine like yourself. Wave them pom-poms, propagandist, cheer O-bomb-O and Lieberman on.
You evidently have no influence even within your own party, which has got to be the epitome of pointlessness. Don't you feel used and abused by now? To think of the time, money, energy, etc, that you must have expended to get your charlatan elected, and then he turns around and dumps on you by: a: appointing Hillary, b: Keeping Joe strong as ever, c: appointing Rahm, etc. But I guess you must be one of those Neolibs I keep hearing about, the flip side of the coin to the Neocons. Let's bomb Iran.
You and the Big P should build an enormous wall along the Southern border of the United States. Bigger than the Great Wall of China. But, Oops, but I see a problem aleady - that would require a huge amount of government spending and government activity. But maybe we can allow an exception to RP's dogma in this case because we are dealing with scourge of illegal aliens who are destroying our country.
For instance, you assume the bailout of the auto industry is a good thing, and dont bother to read into Ron Paul's comments. Maybe he doesnt make too much sense when he talks about it, but anyway, hes coming from the perspective that the auto companies are failing-why? Because they have bad business practices. So they have gone bankrupt. Why should we reward bad behaviour by these industries and bail them out? Instead we should reward those who had good business practices and let them tank
Ralphdraw, please look at what Ron Paul's argument is, and for that matter, where he gets his stuff from. It seems you are looking at this from a superficial perspective, instead of understanding where hes coming from.
I think you are not attacking Ron Paul's argument or his points, instead you are attacking a straw man, it seems.
Ralph, what did Ron Paul say that made you so angry? Did you know that the big three stated that they would lay off the employees they have slated to lay off even if they get the money? The 25 Billion would only fund their overseas operations, not the US plants. I think it's Chrysler that makes a hybrid they sell really cheep somewhere other than America. The Congress was right to ask for a plan before they get the money and they will be monitored in that plan. No plan, no money.
Ron Paul (and his followers) cares more about the gold standard than saving American and Iraqi lives.
Ron Paul cares more about interest rates than he does about the unemployment rate, the unemployed or the poor... In economics, they call this laissez faire, I believe..
Ron Paul is a greedy, phony charlatan IMHO.
Ron Paul made NO criticism of huge CEO salaries and bonuses - he criticized the workers for making $20 or $30 an hour plus benefits.
I agree that Ron Paul is very focused on the gold standard and free markets, with no governmental, or little oversight. His following on line and else where in the campaign, I believe, was more about following the constitution and getting out of Iraq than anything else.
your right.. Ron Paul would ruin this country! The current system we have now is perfect. Blame everything that is going on with this country on Ron Paul. Are you screaming for a bailout? Lets give you money so you can make cars/trucks that nobody wants or can afford. Look up hyperinflationary depression. This is my last reply because you are too dumb for my time.
if we keep bailing these companies out it gets progressivly worse as time goes on and we hit the next bailout. chrysler was saved in the 80's? then it seems the only thing they learned was to come back to the goverment well to dip again. these companies should get no bailout whatsoever let em die. they are making shit products and everyone is buying foreign because of it. it is going to hurt some people and i realise this but it's better a few now then millions more later...
Whe didn't Ron Paul support the impeachment of George Bush - who lied to Congress and started an internationally illegal war, and illegally wire-tapped US citizens without warrants?
Hah! I knew it. You're a socialist :) You want the government to steal my money, give it to failing companies to keep your ass afloat? Communism is alive and well in the heart and mind of RalphDraw3. Epic fail, dude.
Show me where Congress is authorized to deal with unemployment, poverty, foreclosures, etc., in the Constitution. They're not. Those issues are reserved to the STATES, not the federal government.
Secondly, unemployment, poverty, etc., do not give the government the right to steal money from one person and give it to another.
Stop advocating state-sanctioned theft, start advocating reduced spending and reduced taxes, and maybe we'll have some of our OWN money left over to help others with.
BTW: control over the money system, money supply and banking system has a great effect on the economy of the states and unemployment.
If you and Ron Paul believe that these federal government programs - like Social Security or Medicare or Medicare - are unconstitutional, take the federal government to court and get a Supreme Court ruling...
Control over the money system, money supply, and banking system has a great effect on the economy of the states and unemployment????
Dude, look out your window. Yes, the effect is certainly "great".
Regarding your "promoting general welfare":
Amendment 10:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Unemployment, poverty, etc., are NOT the responsibility of Big Brother.
"Government got all it's money back with interest"
--Um.... Since when is it the Government's money? Keep up the great disinfo work. You're either ignorant, ill-informed or simply a punk. I'm thinking all three. Nice work.
Your probably just pissed at RP because your savior Democrats are lining up to perpetuate the NeoCon agenda that they just campaigned against. You've been taken for a fool.
Its all the regulations that caused the depression. And regulations go two ways.

Now that was truly a country and movement that wanted to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
ralphosize 3 years ago
So, cutting through all the obfuscation and misdirection: FDR lied to the public and did everything he could to maneuver America into WW2, and ended up replacing one tyranny with another that was every bit as, if not more, depraved -- AND, most importantly in the amoral world of intl politics, MORE of a threat to the US, as evidenced by the active backing of the CPUSA and its spies by Moscow.
And you STILL haven't answered my question: did you support Clinton's wars in the Balkans?

Stalin controlled all of Eastern and most of Central Europe. Stalin murdered more people than Hitler ever did even before WW2 began, and maintained concentration camps until the end of his life--which were then prolonged, with slightly less brutality by his successors. Stalin, with the extensive help of the Rosenbergs, Klaus Fuchs, et al, developed and successfully tested an a-bomb in 1949. Uncle Joe was every bit as dangerous and twice as depraved as Hitler.

Btw, I dont necessarily agree with these policies, but its interesting to see them
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
These investment banks alternatively, have been successful so far due to good business practices, and not risking too much. Now they have, and they are paying the price.
Ron Paul thinks that these ppl need to go under, debt needs to be liquidated, and the market needs to correct itself without government interference. The bailout prolongs the bad business practices and the correction that must take place.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
Its not about poverty, its not about unemployment, its about being neutral in the face of successful and unsuccessful businesses.
However, it seems you have misunderstood Ron Paul's reasoning behind this recession as well.
First of all, the recession has come because the government has encouraged bad business practices by fannie mae and freddie mac. Why? because the govt could ensure them if they fucked up. So those companies could afford to risk more. They did, and look what happened.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
Its not about poverty, its not about unemployment, its about being neutral in the face of successful and unsuccessful businesses.
@@@@
Why does Ron Paul talk endlessly about the interest rate and doesn't talk a peep about the unemployment rate???
I live in Michigan: the unemployment here is over 9%,
the rate of poverty is going up
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
I guess he doesnt talk about it because he sees things from an economic point of view, not a personal point of view.
In his mind correct economics brings prosperity. Correct economics will bring people out of poverty and end unemployment.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
I wish Ron Paul would give us his "impersonal view" of the unemployment rate. Especially since RP is obsessed with economic policy, one would think that "unemployment" is a concern.
(Totally free markets mean booms and busts, long recessions and frequently high employment and poverty.
I reject Paul's notion that a free market will lead to widespread prosperity. To the contrary, it will lead to a concentration of wealth in a few hands and an increase in general poverty/ a lowering of wages.)
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
Determining exactly how much govt or how much free market are ideal for a country is obviously very complex, arcane, and almost impossible to fit into a comment forum like this. One thing is for certain, though: if the United States did not spend such vast sums on the maintenance of its foreign empire and pre-emptive wars of choice, as Paul has unwaveringly argued, there would be money available to bail out Detroit and possibly "do something" about unemployment elsewhere.
ralphosize 3 years ago
Now, whether or not Detroit deserves to be bailed out is another question. I'd much rather auto workers get a bailout than million-dollar-bonus-eating, Federal Reserve supported banksters, but people all around this country are suffering, and the vast majority will get no bailout.
Obama and his Clintonista econ team are pushing the predictable panacea: deficit spending Keynesian public works programs (and maybe a war down the line, as that's what really got this old econ going way back) ...
ralphosize 3 years ago
But this ship has many more leaks in it that Obama, for reasons of social pandering and political expediency, will never address. Take illegal immigration. Some 45 billion dollars last year was sent by illegal laborers back to Mexico. Who or what is going to stop cheap foreign laborers from gobbling up all the road-improving, school painting busywork jobs O tries to create? And then sending a significant portion of their earnings back home, and NOT spending it here in the US?

issues, especially foreign and monetary policy. Whoever shines the light on these pondscum deserves support, whether Dem, GOP or independent.
ralphosize 3 years ago
So:
Paul, Baldwin, Kucinich, Nader (and maybe somebody we don't know right now)
I think less important than a candidate is to build a counter-ideology to the DC-NYC Axis of Evil. It can come from people liberal-inclined, conservative-inclined, or other, provided they're not so far off the rails as to be easily marginalized. You already took an important step in making vids critical of the Clinton and Emanuel appointments. Other than that, the only recourse is to secure billions of dollars

Excellent work. You are living, breathing proof of what's wrong with this country. Shame I wasted all this time trying to have a civil discussion with some two-bit internet propagandist like yourself, a cowardly slave of the Democratic party till the end, no matter how much it dumps on you.

You ally yourself with pondscum like that to smear somebody who's actually challenged the Neocon-Neolib Foreign Policy Machine that your savior has now fully empowered with fresh blood. Miserable.

I guess Paul's support for Don't Ask Don't Tell (didn't your previous hero Clinton support that too?) is homophobic? Or maybe because he doesn't support even more draconian, capriciously interpreted workplace discrimination laws, because, hey, they've made the business world just so much more pleasant, productive, and profitable. The Congress just passed another extension of unemployment benefits. Guess who voted against it? Dr. Greedy/Doom Ron Paul... what a jerk he is...
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
For instance, you assume the bailout of the auto industry is a good thing, and dont bother to read into Ron Paul's comments. Maybe he doesnt make too much sense when he talks about it, but anyway, hes coming from the perspective that the auto companies are failing-why? Because they have bad business practices. So they have gone bankrupt. Why should we reward bad behaviour by these industries and bail them out? Instead we should reward those who had good business practices and let them tank
RationalLiberty 3 years ago

Boomer1949 3 years ago
Ron Paul (and his followers) cares more about the gold standard than saving American and Iraqi lives.
Ron Paul cares more about interest rates than he does about the unemployment rate, the unemployed or the poor... In economics, they call this laissez faire, I believe..
Ron Paul is a greedy, phony charlatan IMHO.
Ron Paul made NO criticism of huge CEO salaries and bonuses - he criticized the workers for making $20 or $30 an hour plus benefits.
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
I agree that Ron Paul is very focused on the gold standard and free markets, with no governmental, or little oversight. His following on line and else where in the campaign, I believe, was more about following the constitution and getting out of Iraq than anything else.
Boomer1949 3 years ago
your right..

What is the Prophet Paul predicting for the unemployment in the United States? 10% or 15%? and how about the poverty rate?
Ron Paul talks on and on about the "interest rates". Does the "unemployment rate" bother him at all?
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
if we keep bailing these companies out it gets progressivly worse as time goes on and we hit the next bailout. chrysler was saved in the 80's? then it seems the only thing they learned was to come back to the goverment well to dip again. these companies should get no bailout whatsoever let em die. they are making shit products and everyone is buying foreign because of it. it is going to hurt some people and i realise this but it's better a few now then millions more later...

What is the unemployment rate in your state?
What is the poverty rate in your state?
How many foreclosures have there been in your state??
How many people are homeless in your state and how many are receiving food stamps?
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
Show me where Congress is authorized to deal with unemployment, poverty, foreclosures, etc., in the Constitution. They're not. Those issues are reserved to the STATES, not the federal government.
Secondly, unemployment, poverty, etc., do not give the government the right to steal money from one person and give it to another.
Stop advocating state-sanctioned theft, start advocating reduced spending and reduced taxes, and maybe we'll have some of our OWN money left over to help others with.

"promote the general welfare"
Ralphdraw3 3 years ago
BTW: control over the money system, money supply and banking system has a great effect on the economy of the states and unemployment.
If you and Ron Paul believe that these federal government programs - like Social Security or Medicare or Medicare - are unconstitutional, take the federal government to court and get a Supreme Court ruling...

Dude, look out your window. Yes, the effect is certainly "great".
Regarding your "promoting general welfare":
Amendment 10:
