I actually tried this for the first time just the other day, I'm swedish myself so I don't really favor the beers that come out of here, they are mostly macro lagers (although pretty good ones).
It wasn't an aged one, but I still enjoyed it, will definitely buy it again, it's quite cheap. Nice review!
@853phile Yes I do. A good quality beer is hard to beat, especially when its combined with some tasty food after a great bike ride. Thanks for watching!
@towersong Pretty good beer, huh? I saw a bottle of the 2004 in my beer store and almost picked it up to age for a while and see how it is. Maybe I'll go back and get it.
I enjoyed this beer last spring with some friends. We had a couple 2006 bottles. I thought it was fantastic. I also was reading that Michael Jackson (writer) tasted a 1, 7 and 10 year vintage. He liked the 10 year the best.
Ok, I'm officially jealous: BBQ ribs and a beautiful view of Nature right in your back yard, but what were the strange metallic noises in the background?!
your a fellow steeler fan. right on... and you said hometown. so i take it your from pittsburgh. do you still live there? i will be in pittsburgh the weekend of june 25th thur-monday to watch the pirates vs the royals. maybe we can meet up to have a beer, maybe even do a review. i hope you like the pens as well. go pens. p.s chocolate, vanilla. the beer sounds great.
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh but haven't lived there since 1983. I still have family there however. It's a great town. The best sports year was 1979 when the Pirates won the World Series and the Steelers won the Superbowl! City of Champions that year! The Pens are a great team as well.
We live in Atlanta now so if you are ever going to be in the area let me know and we'll definitely get together for a couple of beers and a review.
well we could match that year if the pens win the stanley cup the same year the steelers won the sb. I thought you said you were in Atlanta in another review. I will visit there eventually, because for basketball I am a diehard hawks fan.. dont ask about my sports loyaltys. football and hockey is pitt, baseball is kc and basketball is atlanta. just for the record... i love the city of pitt.
It's kind of hard to go wrong with BBQ ribs and Porter. This one is very good. Grill up a steak to have with it and I bet you'll like it! I think this is brewed by the same Carlsberg as the pilsner.
The "pinging" sounds are coming from all those birds we have in the yard. They can get pretty loud sometimes!
100% sure its a bird. We hear it almost every evening. I've been trying to track down what the exact bird is. I'll have my father watch the video. He knows all kinds of bird songs so he should be able to tell me.
I'm drinking one right now, and watching this video made it alot more enjoyable! :)

A swedish beer :) Nice!
You should try some more swedish beer if you can get them.
We have a few nice craft breweries over here.
Finally swedes are staring to look beyond macro lagers and moonshine.

I would love to try an older version of this. I bet it is even smoother.

The ribs were very good and Porter is a great beer to go with them.
Believe it or not the "metallic noises" are birds. We hear it a lot in the Summer but I don't know what the bird is.

Let's hope the Pens win, that would be great! Then Pittsburgh could be "City of Champions II" thirty years after the first time.

Looks like a tasty beer & meal combination. Not usually a big fan of porters, but this sounds good.
What's that submarine "ping" sound? LOL
Is this the same Carlsberg that makes the Danish pilsner? I'm going to review that beer soon.

We don't have birds in NY that pulse like submarines sonars. Are you sure that's a bird?

The Lagunitas IPA was pretty good. Go to my blog and search for Lagunitas to see the full story. I gave it a 38 out of 50.
