@imagefactories You are really catching up tonight. I selected Agnes because she was in a movie with Valentino. The music is my friend's music. Thank you for your nice comments.
Hmmm..i don't remember hearing her name before but she looks familar..I grew up watching Shirley temple, little rascals, charlie chaplin...showing my age lol darn it all haha...I love the misic... reminds me of the old movies when i was a kid!!
@MrsMija49 This channel is for movie star videos and some old jazz music. I don't remember much about silent movie stars either. I make the videos so that I can learn more about them. I selected Agnes because of the movie, The Sheikh, with Rudolph Valentino. I have been working on videos about his other leading ladies too. You might have already seen my other channel, ZPopZRock, which is very different from this one, more modern. Thank you for looking!
@Shabannie Sometime when I am watching TV next to my hubby I wish we could go back to the silent movies...haha Thanks for sharing your love of the Golden Years...It was a very pleasant era...Also nice to re live what our Great and Great Great grandparents grew up with. I work with the elderly and I love to listen to their stories of the past.
Thank you for the wonderful video. I saw her in the Sheik, the Son of Sheik and the orginal 10 commandments. I liked her style--holding her own opposite the great Valentino. Like him she died young. After a tragic last few years in which she loses all of her money and then her daughter to her ex husband, she dies at the age of 42. But,those pictures on the screen help us to forget her tragedy while remembering her beauty and talent. Thanks again for the video. I love ragtime music.
Great ragtime music. ;) She was in Son of the Sheik too. I have seen two movies she was in. Nice to see her in these photos which i have not seen before. Thanks for sharing Ellen. ;)
@80stimeagain Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I really have not seen a Valentino movie from beginning to end. I mostly watch segments and clips.
@Dayniac4324 I make the videos about the silent stars because I want to learn more about them. I will make a few more videos with the ragtime music. Thank you for your thoughtful remarks.
@FASHIONCONSPIRACY I selected Agnes Ayres because she starred in The Sheikh. I learn about the silent stars when I make the videos. And my friend's ragtime music goes well with the silent star era. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
@megaswenson Be sure to add Mabel Normand and Ragtime Christmas to your Ragtime Playlist. I will use more of his ragtime music later. Thank you for your thoughtful remarks.
Thanks my friend, Ellen for sending me this video. You made a beautiful tribute to Agnes and it's truly a piece of art. Thank you also for introducing her to me. Have a pleasant Friday to you...from Cheryl
@bostonblakie You had probably heard of The Sheik too. I know that this music is not jazz, but I went this to you because I wanted you to listen to my friend's music. Bowie has also composed some jazz, and I will post some jazz later. Thank you for your nice remarks.
Hi Ellen...I agree with Mick...A Masterpiece...Agnes Ayres is new to me...so I'm glad you make these videos and pay tribute to these silent movie stars...I love them...and the music was perfect...thumbs up...a jillion stars! :))
@MrKingsRow I still plan to make at least two more about Valentino's leading ladies. Then I will move on to make videos about the co stars of Clara Bow and Louise Brooks. It appears to be a never ending project.
Another video masterpiece Ellen,I don't know anything about Agnes Ayres, but she looks a beautiful lady and was obviously a star,if only for a short while.
Your friend's piano piece was excellent again,he's a very talented man !
@MjayzToonz I selected her because she was in The Sheikh with Valentino. I also wanted to use my friend's music again. Thank you for your thoughtful remarks.
@VivaTenors I assume that many of them will be forgotten in the year 2100. We really cannot expect to be remembered forever. But there will be information about them available for the people who are interested. Thank you for watching the video.
Very lovely video. It is a History included in the video from the past Century. Actress that played a great role in film...Thank you so much Judie for sharing the video with me and thank you Up-loader for the wonderful video...Zuzanna
@genia106 I have a least one more Valentino leading lady video on my list to work on. And I might rediscover a couple more actresses later. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
Yes I agree! This music is perfect accompaniment to the early 20s era of the actress here! I had forgotten that Agnes was the leading lady in Valentino's famous movie, the Sheik. All women in America back then wished they were her to be in his arms! thanks Ellen, for a superb actress video! very well done. you make it look simple!
@2reeler To me Agnes looks a lot like Alice Terry. I was concerned that I might put Alice's picture in there by accident. Some pictures on the internet are not labeled correctly. I have made this kind of error before, especially with silent stars. There are a lot of ladies on Youtube who still like Valentino. Thank you for your nice comments.
Hi Ellen, I enjoyed your interesting and fascinating video. I have always taken an interest in seeing the beginning of movie making and the early movie stars. The information you gave about your video really was very interesting and informative!! The music you chose is perfect and sets the tone of the video!!! Thank you for posting. 5*****
@ebfan41 I picked this silent star today because I want to showcase my friend's music again. I am always concerned that I may have put a picture in there that is not Agnes Ayres. I have made errors on other videos because the internet sources are not alway labeled correctly. I enjoy making videos about silent movie stars because it helps me learn more about them.
Dear Ellen, i noticed right now your latest video, it is so enjoyable and interesting like always your pieces use to be... once again the main person was for me unknown...but your gorgeous, really! informations explained about her person... besides i like this music so much... it fits perfect to the visuals... very good video!!
Wish you a pleasant even and calm night and nice weekend ahead... love....Judie:-)
@gfks11 Thank you so much for watching this. I have gradually been making videos about actresses who worked with Rudolph Valentino. The music was composed and performed by a friend of mine here in Austin, and I am sure that David will be pleased to read your notes later too.
I thought this music was an old piece of the time of this actress... it is magnificent... i am very fond of such old tunes,a brilliant composition your friend did i think!!:-)
@gfks11 David has composed different kinds of music. This is the third ragtime piece that I have used. It really does sound like the old Scott Joplin music. I will use his other music later.
She sure was beautiful!!!!
