I think some random pedestrians with paramedic shirts walked into the ring to help this guy. Love the crowd clapping when there's no thumbs up from him...
@metallicacliff I wish ALL paramedics could read this comment coming from one him self. I'm an EMT-B student and just going into my last month of practicum in four days here. My last experience last year when I quit school was awful. I did ALL the work and the paramedics got to slack off. And for all you people who think volunteers suck at their job... go give your head a shake. Volunteer fire fighting for 3 years is lots and lots of work and dedication. Good post metallicacliff.
I am a paramedic myself, something just didnt seem right. The medics we're concerned,. It honestly seemed like bad acting. And considering the venue, I would have to guess it's just part of the show.
@isthereasunthereisnt i know a lot of volunteers emts who are very good at there job faggot. its wrestling haha i hope you did not hope to see real medics
@timberland1108 Hahah, wow settle, petal. No need to drop the f-bomb. Never said volunteers are all shit at their jobs. You know, for being one of those 'american heros', you're pretty mean. I thought they were nice guys. :(
wow that was not up to scratch. just plonking his leg down like that could increase the chance of spinal damage. plus a 2 second assesment? yer right. plus that board is lifting only......so why they carrying on it? far too rushed to provide good care....just rushing to get more wrestling going insted of caring for he patient. from a British Medic
wow that was not up to scratch. just plonking his leg down like that could increase the chance of spinal damage. plus a 2 second assesment? yer right. plus that board is lifting only......so why they carrying on it? from a British EMT
p.s properly these emt-p did not work up to today standards for two reason. 1. this video look ols therefore emt procedures has greately improves since then and 2. isnt this kind of entertainment fake, if so, wouldnt the actions of these emt-p reflect the same?
I dont know what the big fuzz about emt-b and emt-p...I have worked as a emt for many years and in two states with paramedics and i must agree that paramedics are a bit rude but then again, they deal with more severe calls and the burnout rate should reflect the same. the performance on the medics here was not good. c-spine and csm was not done proper not to mention how 1 medic moved the pt legs. truama asses are there for a reason. all truama calls should be treated and run the same.
I'm an EMT-Paramedic in New Jersey and honestly we don't work harder than anyone else. a lot of paramedics are arrogant assholes who don't care and don't have emotion. They don't talk to the patient and they are rude to everyone around them and treat EMT's like shit and volunteers. we get paid a lot and paramedics defiantly need to go to mood adjustment school
no, you didn't say basics don't work hard. what you said was "They are called paramedics because they worked hard to get to that level and to not be called just an "EMT", which is pretty condescending considering basics ALSO work hard to get to that level. Also, saying "not be called JUST an emt" is a douche-y thing to say.
lol Are you playing hot potato, or holing c-spine? My goodness, if your licensing body sees this wouldn't your license be revoked? Plenty of help around guys.
@Peiazjaeh well, yes and no. EMT stands for Emergency Medical Technician. If you're an EMT, then technically you're an EMT-B (beginner). Some states have EMT-I (intermediate), but all that means is that you've been an EMT-B for 3 years or something. If you're a paramedic, then you're an EMT-P (paramedic). Kinda confusing, but I hope that clears it up.
@Peiazjaeh don't listen to that other guy. there's 3 levels of EMT's on a national level EMT-B (BASIC) EMT-I (INTERMEDIATE which is like half of a paramedic I think it's pointless and intermediates aren't recognized in the state of California) and then there is EMT-P(PARAMEDIC). They are called paramedics because they worked hard to get to that level and to not be called just an "EMT". You have to at least be an EMT-B to apply for paramedic school.
@colb4130 i never said basics don't work hard? what could I have possibly said in that statement for you to take it personally and call me a douche? I was just giving him information.
took u long enuf to control c-spine from a fucking wrestling accident, and then you let it go....put some blocks on and tape his head im sure you atleast have that!
@unabellisima just making a point that you can't work by the text book ever single call. Ever single paramedic I have talked to said they hardly have a text book call. I don't think the medic shown here did anything wrong. I think with only 2 people they C-Spined him just fine.
@unabellisima there's only two of them you gotta work with what you got. you can't do everything by the text book every single time. glad to hear you're a well seasoned EMT-B? EMT-I? EMT-P? Nurse? Doctor? Neither?
Eeeaaasy ricky rescues lol.. He's moving his hands and feet just fine, and you can't hear what they're saying or asking the pt. Give the guys some credit, there's only two of them. You gonna trust your P# with an untrained bystander? All things considered, I'd say they did fine.
The medic holding manual c-spine should never had passed his national registry... He let go of c-spine multiple times, they didnt bring anything with them to the ring, and they could have easily gotten a bystander to help. Big fail
this is a discrase to all paramedics

@KIKIguana Certainly, I work as an EMT. For a spinal injury they sure didn't seem too bothered about immobilisation. It all looked too rushed.
