the macbook is so shitty, its plastic. it just feels cheap when you hold it, the screen is so dull. it looks like a child's toy computer in size and texture. the black one is a little bit better, but in my opinion, the pro just beats it in every sense and is well worth the extra money. i just bought a mbp and i love it. im so glad i didn't go for the stupid macbook. and dont even get me started on the air lol. although, that one has a vivid screen like the mbp. but its small and shitty.

LOL have you ever owned a macbook?? I have one, and i can tell you its not cheap at all, It's very VERY STURDY, BIG difference between the Mac and another comp, all of the other laptops are horrible, they all look cheap, and are built to impress, not to be used...The black macbook actually feels sturdier than the white ones, but w/e...and stop hating on the macbook, we all know the pro is much better, hence PRO...but everyone hates the macbook air, its just built to be portable, not to be used.

i agree that the black one is better, i was actually referring to the white one when i made the comment. but in the store, the screen seems ultra dull, and plus i think that the screen is way too small for the price. the thing about macs is that the desktop is like an actual desktop, the bigger it is, the more applications you can have, and the macbook feels barely big enough to have a full web site open. idk. for that, even the macbook pro lacks, but the resolution is superb.

ok then, ill believe you on that. i just have to say, that i have absolutely no problems transporting a 15'' macbook pro. in fact, i live in new jersey, and im talking to you right now from my mbp in downtown manhattan. i took my 15'' dell laptop before i got the mbp to arizona over the summer, vegas the summer before, and washington dc the winter before. its light, like 5 lbs or so? theres no reason why its any less portable than the macbook or macbook air. just stick it in the case and go

and yep the air sucks, i think that it would be better if they included the external optical drive in the package for free, u know? but, for the same screen size, i gotta say, the screen looks much better than the macbook. that aside, if they gave the optical drive for free and it actually held a modern amount like 160gb or so in its hard drive, i would have bought it instead of the macbook pro.

LOL not even if it has that i wouldn't buy it, the only reason why i would buy a mac is if i was traveling like 4 times a week on a plane, or train...And no, i have a 2.4ghz, 2gb ram, 160hdd macbook (white) I like the screen size, and I've never heard any complaints, i need a smaller screen because i take it to a lot of places, nad it's not dull at all...maybe not quite macbook air performance, but the macbook air is $2000!!! You have to actually own one to see, i have no problems with it...

MacBook has some pros and cons that CNET didnt talk about:

Pro:

1. bootcamp, Duo OS...you can install Windows XP on a separate partition

2. Stable for Laptop Mobile DJs

3. compact, portable

4. RAM upgrade to 4 GIG...save money if you use thrid party rams

Cons:

1. No Right Click on their built in mouse pad

2. Expect to pay extra for their external adaptor for video out, Firewire adaptor, etc.

3. Video output doesn't work in Windows OS
