There was a point in time when a song this beautiful would have deservedly enjoyed many week at number one in the Bill Board Top 100 chart, it just goes to show you how much the world has changed (and NOT for the better) when you don't even see an appearance of this song anywhere except in the Christian stations. I'm neither relegious nor Christian, but I do find it interesting how they pigeon-hole songs as Christian, even though there's not even a mention of Jesus anywhere in this song. Sad.

I heard this on the radio and was so happy because it worded perfectly why my husband and I named our daughter how we did. Her middle name is Promise, and this song expresses what it means wonderfully!

When I hear this song I think of my "husband". We're high school sweet hearts it's been 17 yrs and I still get butterflies like I did as school girl when he smiles at me. We never officially got married but we have that forever bond. Things are sometimes hard but we both think it's worth fighting to stay together cause the love is there. True love is so rare to find now days. I feel like God has blessed me so much giving me such a wonderful man to share my life with.

This song is just what we need to hear in this day-and-age with so many divorces going on and broken homes suffering. When you say "I do" that is for the rest of your life- better or worse- for richer or poorer!
Christ was a perfect example of this in his sacrifice on the cross. When was the last time we were killed for loving someone? That is a huge reminder when we get consumed by our worries and trials. "No greater love than this, that you would lay down your life for your friends"

Even though we werent walking with him before we were married and even though we 'accidentally" got pregnant..God is still in charge and has a plan for us and our children they were NOT a mistake and neither was our marriage. I thank God everytime I se my husband get stronger in his faith and lead us big or small be it prayer at meals or holding me tight and praying over me when im having a freak out.

Ive listend to this song the past mon th multiple times a day. We also bought our rings at a pawn shop in town lolMy husband has made so many good changes and he has stood by me in my struggle with sever bi-polar dissorder and the diagnoses of our oldest son with possablr adhd/highfunctioning autism/and sensory processing disorder.
We each have our own issues and strugles and have hurt one another deeply. But I KNOW God is faithful! And I KNOW he brought us together for a reason!

My husband and I were married at 19 and 20 (I am 7 months older) I was 8weeks pregnant with our oldest sone, we now have three awesome kiddos who are 5 1/2, 4 and three they are 19months and 15 months apart. We have struggled from the get go, with our relationship, faithfulness to God and eachother.Our oldest and yougest both boys) have some varrying degrees of special needs. Its stressful and its amazing all at once.

I danced with my girlfriend for the first time to this song at her sisters wedding the other day. I love this song so much, I couldn't hear it though, her eyes were too distracting. This song shows commitment and making God the center of your relationship, that's what I plan to do. How Andrew made this song.. I have no idea, it's perfect

@ArigatoShinigami i actually went to see him in concert and he explained that he wrote this song in one night while him and his wife were fighting. In the morning when she came down he was playing it for her and they made up. The song and the story behind it are really touching (:

My sister and her boyfriend, who was a big jerk, had a roller coaster relationship for 1 year when he told her he wanted them to start going to church. 2 months after that he decided he wanted to start following after God, and began treating her right. 5 months later they got engaged. Yesterday they were married before 100 witnesses of his transformation, and this was the song for their final dance.

What a beautiful song! My parents would have been married 59yrs. this past Dec. Dad died this past June. This song reminds me of my parents' marriage. Through struggles & hardtimes, their love was embraced "until death did HE part." I'm also proud to say that this song also reminds me of my own marriage. In 1983 my husband & I were married 8yrs. & had 2 small children when he became a paraplygic from an industrial accident. We too are still so very much in love "until death do US part."

I was listening to a Christian radio station online and this song came on I just fell in love, hah. Andrew Peterson is now my favorite Christian artist =D

I have been listening to a Christen redio staion and this is one of the songs I love the most. The more I listen to the staion the more I think, I can do this, I can make it through this life. I have belived in God for all my life and know He has always walked with me, but it has been two year sence I have chosen to give my life to Christ. I struggle but that is the way of things.

Isaac and i have been married for a year and a half. The longer we are together, and the more we watch other relationships, the more we understand that love is so much more a choice, a decision, and an action than feelings. This is just too perfect! My husband and I actually got engaged when I was 19 and he was 21! He is now deployed to Afghanistan and it is harder than either of us ever could have dreamed, but our faith is getting us through it! The part that says "So I'll walk with you in the shadowlands till the shadows disappear. Cause He promised not to leave us and his promises are true. So in the face of all this chaos baby, I can dance with you" really applies to us! Love it!

We were 18 when we met, 19 when we got engaged, 22 when we wed, and 23 when our first child was born. Over 10 years together, nearly 7 years of marriage, and 2 beautiful children (one with a lifetime disability) later... I can't think of anyone else I'd rather sail the storms with.

There was a point in time when a song this beautiful would have deservedly enjoyed many week at number one in the Bill Board Top 100 chart, it just goes to show you how much the world has changed (and NOT for the better) when you don't even see an appearance of this song anywhere except in the Christian stations. I'm neither relegious nor Christian, but I do find it interesting how they pigeon-hole songs as Christian, even though there's not even a mention of Jesus anywhere in this song. Sad.

My parents have been dancing in the mine fields for 50 yrs, and now they are in the shadowlands as my dad has cancer and alzheimers.....the line 'remind me when I forget my name, remind me' is so very poignant....this song is wonderful reminder that the shadows will disappear....not only our promises to each other carry us but the promises of God to restore all things new. Beautiful song!!!

Thanks for this incredible song. My husband and I met at 19 and got married at 22. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary. We've danced, dodged and weaved all through the minefields but have come out stronger and more committed to each other than on that morning we, as wide eyed kids, said, "I do."
