hey Greg, i've been browsing through your vids, great playing! I gotta say that IMO this LP Special has the sweetest tone among the gibsons I saw you play. How would you rank it yourself? man, I always thought the SG or the LP std would become my first gibson... but this has changed just now! thanks!
AMAZING SOUND! i wonder if you've heard fretted americana's 55' les paul standard gold top with p90's and without the tun-o-matic bridge KILLER tone on that guitar
I've been at Greg's place and he keeps everything at about 5 (or the 12 o'clock position). He records the amp at surpringly low (bedroom level) volumes. Besides the real lovely original Jensen speakers, his real tone secret is heavy strings (11-49), high action and a REAL heavy pick (Dunlop Delrin 2mm). That and his imaculate phrasing is more important for his tone than guitars, pickups or knob settings, try it!
(Tschuldigung für's Geheimnis preisgeben, Gregor ;-)

I't's different than a humbucker equipped Gibson. But this one is one of the best Specials I've ever had!
