Still looks good after all these years, the sense of speed and inertia is fantastic due to the cockpit bumping and rolling independently of the wheelbase, something that open wheel games just haven't managed since with the cars feeling 'stuck' to the track. Who needs animated trees and 3D crowds when you have this? Kicks arse!

I recently started playing GPL again and it's simply amazing how a 13 year old game looks as good as newer games with all the texture updates people have made. It's simply amazing going through the tunnel at Monaco and actually seeing 3d light bulbs instead of a flat bulb textured on the wall with a light source at each bulb to simulate it omitting light.

couldn't get wheel to work, Menu goes crazy flashing, only has joystick option.

@currentresident41061 there are options in the wheel setup so try re-configuring between direct input and generic and then plug the wheel in to calibrate once you are in the game?

To someone weaned on Gran Turismo, this probably looks crap, but no driving game that I've ever played sounds as good or is as immersive to play.

Best driving game ever? I think so. Hope we see its like again, though I'm not optimistic given that there isn't a hint of neon/AWD/lairy paint anywhere, given that the cars are really hard to drive and given that you can't personalise them or select music.

@omamder5 Actually its quite intunitive with a keyboard but it takes a few tweaks & practice .I too would prefer an xbox controller even over a steering wheel ..but if i had to use a keyboard forever i'd still love the game and play it as much

Awesome!! Love the '60s sound, very realistic!! Every era of F1 has its own charismatic sounds...

These cars were incredibly dangerous to drive. The recent crashes we've seen by guys like Kubica and Webber would have been fatal even in the early '90s.
