  • Actually I have the same top coat and cleanser and it goes dull and not shiny after wiping :(

  • I also can't seem to get my gel nails to give the lovely gel shine after wiping off the tacky dispersion layer :( I tried all types of alcohol and alcohol wipes, and different types of cotton pad to wipe it. Maybe it is just cause I bought cheap uv gels off ebay? Still its really disappointing!

  • hey hun do you know you can buy acrylic nail clippers very cheap now, even my local bargain store sells them for 89p, ebay does them so cheap too x

  • You did an amazing job for this being your first tutorial! It helped me out soooo much!!

  • great video x

  • I have a tutorial on gel nails without a light

  • Please help?

I'm using uv gel from Lina. But primer and top coat r from dismisi. And when i aplied top coad for finish, cure it for 3 min and then after wipe it with cleanser plus. All shine was gone and only leave a matte "colour" if know what i mean xD please please heeelp ... :-(

  • @Thich2011 different brands require different curing times. you should check with the manufacturer for the top coat curing time. it may be different.

  • @Thich2011 Try usin 99% isopropyl alcohol. I think it leaves a better shine than even the cleanser. And don't be stingy with it on the wipe.

  • I can tell my sis loves doin this!

  • @LAVIVALAPOLSKA lol whos your sis?

  • @SkyelarJ Hi! you are SO SO SO sweet! and I do agree that french nails are just TOO boring! even with french nails, I have to put some type of nail art on them! haha! if you do do your own nails, post up pictures or even a video! I would love to see them! :)

  • @meneedawesome yea that was rude

  • @tashashaday thanks girl! lol ;)

  • Great tutorial but next time maybe a bright spot so can see it more? Please and thank you :)

Please do more tutorials for uv gel nails (:

  • @Nepenning haha yea, I didn't realize the lighting was so bad until I was editing the video. I want to make a new tutorial today and will definitely be playing around with the lighting more. thanks for watching! =]

  • @lovemeimk3lly Oh it's fine, at least you tried and it still came out as a good tutorial. (: (:

  • hi, i like ur video thanks for showing it, i will like to know where did u get the gel and the gel color? i been looking for color gel for a long time i been looking like crazy. thank u :)

  • @Mrsdarkness2011 hello! I got the gel and the gel color from ebay! I know they may not be the best gel or gel colors out there but since I was a beginner myself, I decided that I wanted to try it first and just test it out and surprisingly, it is actually really good gel! they hold up very well! good luck! and thank you for watching! :)

  • @lovemeimk3lly thank you so much for responding back, i will defiantly try them now. thanks alot! :)

  • Your tutorial was very helpful. Thank you for your clear instructions and I loved that you had a lot of great tips. I wanted to get a gel lamp kit but wasn't sure how nail art fitted in with it. I now have a much clearer picture of what goes into a gel manicure.

PS Ignore the critical comments. Your style is a lot like chatting with a friend and your passion for nail art shows. You showed us how much fun it can be to do your own nails. I want a gel kit more than ever now.

  • @Je11YbeanQueen OMGOSH! you are so sweet! if you do ever get a gel kit, let me know how your nails turn out! I would LOVE to see them! I think you just made my day :D

  • Love your tut!! What brand of gel did you use and where can I get it? Been doing my nails for a lil bit and I'm using Gelish gel but need something stronger to go with tips! Thanks in advance!

  • PLEASE DO MORE GEL NAIL VIDEOS!!! thank!

  • @shmampayne1 Hi! I will be posting up a new tutorial today! sorry, I know i haven't been on here much because of school and work and now the holidays but I just got some cute new charms that I definitely want to use!

  • perfect giirly.. helpful vid..

  • @beautifulbixxh thank you!! im glad it has helped some of you out there :)

  • Well, I'm gonna GO AHEAD and say this was a helpful tutorial :)

  • @intermariogr you are too sweet! thank you!!!

  • @intermariogr I just reread this and..HAHA youre so funny! :)

  • Go ahead.... go ahead... go ahead... go ahead and do this..... So annoying.

  • @meneedawesome :( well, if I annoy you so much, what are you still doing watching the video? I find it annoying that you would post and give me advice and then post up a rude comment 3 minutes later. Why don't you try and make a tutorial instead of just watching and criticizing others?

  • You really shouldn't have that gel so close to the lamp. Even as close as that it can minutely cure it. lmao.

  • @meneedawesome Thanks for the advice!

  • well done for your first tutorial!!!!!! take note of peoples comments (i.e. lighting etc) and you will get great very fast!!!!!!!!! well done again!!!!!!!!

  • @lulu462010 Thank you SOO much for your encouragement and kind words! I will and have definitely listened to my viewers comments and am trying to improve. Thank you for watching again! You are too sweet!

  • What Brand Of Gel Do You Use ? Is It All Lina ? Because Im Thinking About Buying Lina Products Off Of Ebay. Thankss(:<3

  • CAN YOU USE FINGERNAIL POLISH INSTEAD OF GEL TO PAINT YOUR NAILS ?

  • @kiababy5: The gel is what builds up the layers and makes the tip one with the nail. Even if you paint your nails with polish, you still need that gel (or acrylic)!

  • @kiababy5 Hello! thanks for watching! you can use regular nail polish to paint your nails but you would still need to have the cured gel overlay before painting your nails with regular nail polish.

  • @Lily0408 I know..I apologize. It was my first video and I am working on getting a better camera and playing around with the lighting.

  • Did u actually perped ur nails? You shouldnt tell for how long time anybody should cure nails cause it all depends on gel and UV lamp (all lamps r not 36W). Some gels needs to be cured for a longer time. And 36W lamp is not needed at all. Most of gels gets perfectly dry under 9W lamp. So dont worry guys. 9W lamps r a lot cheaper and safer. U just need to cure ur nails a bit longer... like 1-2 min which wont kill u :)

  • @Navitrolla hello, thanks for watching! I mentioned in the beginning of the video that I am not a professional and that I am just showing how I do my nails. Since I mentioned that I am not a professional, then the viewer will then proceed at their own risk. I have a 36W lamp but others can get another watt lamp, that is their choice. I am just showing what I use, my materials, and how I use them.

  • I JUST PURCHASED MY KIT FROM EBAY SO THANKS FOR THE TUTORIAL!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

  • @2011eshaboo13 OH YAY! I'm so glad to hear that this tutorial has helped some people out there! Let me know how it goes! I would love to hear updates about your nails! But, I must warn you, it does take some practice so if it doesn't go right the first time, don't get discouraged! (you can do what I did..put some rhinestones to hide the flaws..hehe)

  • i havent been able to find any videos on how to buff off gel nails because the type of gel that i have purchased from ebay is not the soak off gel....i called sally beauty supply store the other day and asked if they had anything that would take the gel off and the woman told me acetone, but pure acetone doesnt not remove this type of gel. so could u do a tutorial on how to buff off gel nails?

  • @buttrpecan9 hello! of coarse! I actually have a tutorial already made of how to remove gel nails safely but I haven't had the time to edit it yet but I will get that out soon! Thanks for watching!

  • @buttrpecan9

It's similar to acrylic in that you use a nail file and remove the top layer-remove the shine layer...Buff off gels yo have to keep filing...acetone won't remove them like acrylics unless it's a soak off gel. Carefully continue buffing but don't buff your natural nail. don't want to hurt your nail plate.

  • Were to get the lamp?

  • @cherrynails4u hello! Since i am a student, I cannot afford a fancy lamp. so I found it on ebay. I have a pink 36w UV lamp. although I have to do a little bit of math to figure out the time, i am pretty happy with the lamp. if you are able to spend a little bit more money, there are lamps out there that have minute settings so you don't have to figure out the time! hope this helps! :)

  • Love the tutorial! What brand of gel are you using?

  • yayyy! so prettty!

  • @aiaiNkiki :)
