  • did you use a lift charge?

  • nice cake, I like the delay and for flying fish they seem like pretty decent sized breaks, a little more lift would be good though lol

  • Hi I have a question, is there any other fuse that will work like flying fish fuse? could I make the same effect with visco fuse?

  • @PyroGamingPro Visco Fuse will not work. Flying Fish Fuse is a special, very energetic fuse, that when burning propels itself through the air. Visco fuse would just fall straight to the ground.

  • @skylighterVideos Im not so sure that is accurate. I just cut a shor peice of visco and lit it and it flew. Zipped all over the place.

  • @skylighterVideos I beg to differ. 1/8th chinese visco will work nearly as well ( although no pretty sparkles and not as energetic )

  • @PyroGamingPro I would like to place an order from PyroDirect but they don't have flying fish fuse and I would like a fuse with a similar effect. Is there any you recommend from PyroDirect?

  • great!! what lift did you use because iam making a 12 shooter cake out of fuse?

    thanks

  • @LAWNYXD FFg or FFFg sporting grade black powder will work for lift.

  • @skylighterVideos oh thanks

  • @skylighterVideos i have found this one in my state. can he help me see if this is ok for lift charge

    Hodgdon_Triple_Se7en_FFG_Granular_Powder

  • Nice but they don't even go that high up

  • just wondering .. what makes the shell scatter ?

  • @tjmmorales It's the flying fish fuse that's used in the shell.

  • @skylighterVideos oh .. nice ,

what is the estimated price of that kind of fuse ? O.O

  • @tjmmorales Most of the flying fish fuse from Skylighter is $29.95 for 100 ft. A few types are $9.95 for 32.5 ft. We have different types and including different colors as well as crackling and non-crackling.

  • @skylighterVideos oh .. ok , thanks for the info tho ..

  • What color was the fuse??

  • @khylek123 Several different colored fuses are used. First is red, then green, then silver, then gold, and finally yellow.

  • so what is the flying fish stars made of little segmants of fast and powerful fuse

  • @kevinmeehan71 Yes, it's a special type of fuse, called Flying Fish Fuse. When cut into short pieces it makes great little self propelled stars. We have 9 different varieties of Flying Fish Fuse for sale at Skylighter.

  • Hey I just made a flying fish fuse cake also (Its for my dads birthday)

  • Will regular 2mm visco fuse do fine as a flying fish effect?

  • @sijjajamamuta thats what i use

  • awesome i make homemade fireworks too.. check out my vid! :D

  • Cool and super unsafe. :)

  • with safety glasses it aint that unsafe.

  • Yeah, I dunno. I'd like to see a video of you standing a foot away from that cake with safety glasses on and see if you catch fire. :)

  • ye well, i wear clothes that dont flame the minute it gets a bit heated.

and oh yea, there are things that are way more unsafe. stop bitching?

  • Hey, it's called an opinion, not bitching. I know there things way more unsafe. Calm down.

  • compared to other fireworks this is REALLY safe, theres small amounts of black powder required, and the speed of the "fish fuses" is slow enough to be able to turn away from one coming towards you. I respect your statement, but I definately disagree. looking away from the fact that all fireworks are potentially dangerous.

  • Yeah, if ONE comes at you, but what if you have 5 coming at you? I think it's unsafe because they're hitting the ground still burning. This is inherently unsafe. No consumer firework does this or is meant to. I guess if you have good distance and there's nothing on the ground to burn, it's ok. I love fish fuse stuff otherwise.

  • nice work man

  • Nice job!

  • not bad but what lifts the fuse?

  • Black powder.

  • not bad u should look at my cake

  • hi there

do you need to prime the ends of the fuse, or will the segments ignite through the lift charge?

    cheers

  • You don't need to prime the ends but it does make fore more reliable ignition.

  • nice one thanks!

o, and how did you insert them, were the individual pieces attatched to one another, or were they loose?

    cheers mate

  • ok nice ^^

  • nice cake i like fireworks and fireworks is my hobby =)

haw to do cakes like thaht??

  • Well you can shrew the plastic tube bases to a piece of wood for one. Or somehow plug the ends and make a real square type cake.

  • @raketpojken94 i freakin love fireworks to and it is also one of my hobbies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what was your lift?

  • The lift is FF6 or FFFg in different amounts depending on the size of the tube. The instructions are in Newsletter #111.

  • They look like sperms :3, anyway nice video

  • damn i wish i could buy fuse in my country...

  • tell me plz what kind of stuff do you euse?

  • more lift less delay

  • use quickmatch next :)

  • amazing, but just maybe a stronger lift charge really cool though

  • you need less delay, and more lift charge.

  • i do something simmaler but yours is 15x better nice job rated 5

  • It was all done with lengths of fuse. You can get the full instructions from the Newsletter Archive at Skylighter.

  • How did you get that much delay in-between shots from a cake?

  • The Flying Fish Fuse Mine kit from Skylighter is a great start. I got it and have been enjoying it since. Enough to send off for more fuse of different colors.

  • Nice quiet backyard stuff.

  • Sure would like to know how to make them. I have the fuse but don't how that was done.

  • Keep an out for the next Skylighter Newsletter. You might just find the answer there.

  • Got the Newsletter emaild this morning. Can't wait to dig in! Thanks

  • The only thing I'm not clear on is how much to load in the tubes without risking them not all igniting. ie do you add 1" cuttings on top of each other or just 1 level.

  • Only one layer or you won't get ignition, but you can really pack them in tight if you really want some extra spread.

  • Gotcha! Thanks!

  • cool. i like those crackling flyig fish

  • I LOVE the flying fish in the cake. That's one of Skylighter's projects, right?
